What a lovely Christmas read by Donna Ashcroft!!! I absolutely loved it and was hooked from start to the end!!! The writing style is very nice and the characters and settings were just so lovely too! In this book there is romance, mysteries and secrets (a lot of secrets), there is warmth and friendship. It was a fantastic read that I can only recommend! And if you are looking for a book to read around Christmas, this is the one!!! 4 stars out of 5 for me!

What a truly gorgeous book this was!
I loved the characters and their personalities, all of them so very different, and each adding something new to the story. The romance that blossomed throughout was heart warming and captivating, and I found myself well and truly invested in all of the characters and their lives as the story progresses.
A beautifully written, festive read that warms your heart!

This book was an absolute delight to read!! Wonderfully cosy with characters that I loved and rooted for the entire time - from the protagonist to the love interest to the charming side characters. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this one and will definitely be returning to it at Christmas again, and hope to read more by the author soon.

After reading some heavy going books lately, I needed a christmas romance book that required little thinking, and got me hooked from the start and this one didn't disappoint!
Great storyline which wasn't far fetched like some of these books can be, and the characters were likeable too.

This was a Christmas romance that me gripped from start to finish - with the enemies to lovers trope, along with the family drama, there was enough entertainment within this book that it was hard to put it down. The story-lines, characters and romance were extremely well written and I began to wish that I had an all year Christmas shop to manage myself!

A lovely family drama/festive romance about a woman who runs a Christmas shop in a small town in Scotland. Her love of the season comes from the fact that Christmas day was the only time that her parents could properly get along, but this year she’s decided she is done with all of that. She’s going to have Christmas quietly by herself and not get involved in the family drama…but then her mum and sister turn up! Meanwhile there’s also a new man in the locality, a rock star who is hiding out and hoping that no one recognizes him. He hates Christmas, but our heroine is determined to help him enjoy it!

This was a very good Christmas romance book. The story was well-written, the characters were well-developed and very likable and interesting. The story had drama, emotion, humor and some magical Christmas romance. I'm so glad that I discovered this author, because I thoroughly enjoyed the book and want to read more from her. Highly recommended.

Beautifully written with great characters. One of those books that you want to keep reading but are disappointed when it finishes.

This is a lovely, warm-hearted novel that follows Meg who runs a Christmas shop in the Scottish village of Lockton and she loves the festive period. This year things begin to go awry as she deals with family dramas, and she finds herself drawn to a new man. I loved that there was a focus on a budding romance but also on the friendships between women in the village. I also really liked that no one knew who Tom was or what he had done for a living before he arrived in Lockton. It made for a fun read wondering when people would find out and how they would react! I did enjoy this novel, it was really cute and romantic and I would recommend it.

I always enjoy Donna Ashcroft’s stories and this one is no exception. It is set in a beautiful location in the Scottish highlands and it is an uplifting, enjoyable story which is perfect escapism for this very different Christmas.

This book is a stand alone, but there is more to the story so in a way I feel you need to read the first one first?!?

I fully enjoyed this book, the world building is done well, but again I can tell there is more in the first book so I will be going back to read that one. Meg and Tom are an adorable couple throughout the book, I liked all of Meg's family and fell in love with the fun cast of characters around town. I have to say that I really related to Tom's situation with his grandparents and can understand how that changes someone very much so.

I'm looking forward to the next book in this town, and hope it involves a fun pub owner.

This one was really not for me - I normally love Christmas and holiday novels but for some reason I really couldn't get into this one.

Overall, I felt that there were too many story lines going on at once - Meg, Tom, Meg's family, the holiday concert, Lilian and her family visiting, and so many more! I felt a bit lost at times with so many different characters and their stories, which made me feel a bit put off by the novel.

Nevertheless, I loved the remote Scottish small town setting, and Meg's year-round Christmas shop.

Meg loves Christmas it is the time when her family are "normal" for one day. Therefore she found herself moving to Lockton, in the Scottish Highlands, to open a Christmas shop. So Christmas can be 365 days a year. Everything is perfect until the new hot toddy Tom Rikey-Clarke drives into Lockton with Kitty and Emily. Megs mum and sister. Will Christmas ever be the same again!

I have been recommended Donna Ashcrofts books by many people hence my request.

Some research into this author has told me that this is her second book in the series. However you would not know this when reading it and this book makes a great stand alone book, Something I think this author has got down to a fine art.

This book is an easy Christmas read. Loving the Christmas vibe and how all the characters gracefully interact with each other. Including how much Lockton uses community spirit to thrive.

This book does exactly what it says on the tin. A lovely light read whisking you away to a blizzard in the Scottish Highlands. Including a herd of roaming reindeer.

However I do feel like the book comes to an abrupt end. Therefore I am hoping this means there will be a third book in the series.

Meg, best friend of Evie from The Little Village of New Starts is in love with Christmas and her little shop that celebrates the season. The little Scottish village is simply that: community, advice (always well meaning) gossip and ‘I knew you when” stories abound, and it’s not always easy to move forward and keep that village feel, particularly in these modern times. But Meg is determined and just a bit stubborn – and hey, it’s Christmas – who doesn’t love it?

Tom is in town helping out his friend at the pub. Not particularly interested in getting to “know” the locals personally, he’s not a fan of Christmas – the grinch could take some lessons to up his ‘bah humbug’ game. Tom’s visit is twofold, and he won’t be ‘baring’ his soul or sharing his real name – just to avoid complications. Of course, he and Meg are destined for an attraction that can’t be denied.......

Full of everything you could want with a Christmas romance, the story has friendships, romance, community and plenty of cheer and heart. Both Tom and Meg have issues with capital letters: trusting others isn’t their go-to option. But with the magic of Christmas, an overwhelming exuberance and love for the season, and plenty of moments to laugh and enjoy – the story allows these two to move into a better place, together. Ashcroft has the ability to bring personalities to the forefront despite their reservations and do it all with a bit of community involvement and plenty of smiles.

Oh how I Loved this!

If Every Day Was Christmas is exactly what I am looking for in a Christmas novel.
Give me a small town with quirky inhabitants.
A Grinch like love interest, who is still charming.
And a heroin who has a kind heart and doesn't need a prince to save her.
Perfect mix!

And If Every Day Was Christmas has it all!

Our main character Meg is all about Christmas. She even owns a Christmas store all year round!
Insert love interest Tom who comes to the little Scottish town to help a friend out and to escape all the bad Christmas memories that have tainted his holiday cheer. When his car breaks down en route he is saved by a woman dressed as a Christmas Elf. Cause that is how Meg does all her Christmas Deliveries...

Did I catch your attention? Yes! Go get this book! If you read one Holiday Novel this year, let it be this little gem!

This was a super cute holiday story, it is very christmassy as the main character really loves christmas to the extent that she even wears christmas themed costumes. It was very sweet and reminded me of the movies you get around Christmas time, it would be a lovely sweet film.

Overall definitely christmassy and very cute.

A cozy winter romance set around a promise tree and a superstar trying to escape his holiday demons. It was easy to fall in love with this little Scottish town but I felt like I was missing some of the story due to the references to what I am assuming was the first book in this series. I found the cast of characters to be interesting and was rooting for the love story as it unfolded. A good holiday read.

Met has a Christmas shop/cafe which is open all year round.
Meg loves Christmas and doesn't understand anybody who doesn't .
Enter Tom who is so anti-christmas .
There is definitely a spark between them.
Can Meg thaw him.
And will they get together.

I was definitely drawn to this book by its title, and rather lovely cover. What I didn't realise until I was quite early on, but already hooked, was that I had a sneaking feeling this wasn't the first book set in Lockton.

So quick glance on Amazon confirmed my suspicions, which definitely explained the references to things I'm sure happened in the previous book, which would be great reminders for those that read it, but just slightly weird to anyone like me that hasn't - as they felt like memory prompts rather than designed to fill in missing gaps.

But that was only with regards Lockton and the other villagers, I had no such misgivings about Megan and Toms' story.

Ok, so was a bit dubious about Tom initially but that's only because he makes it clear he doesn't like Christmas, whereas as I'm a huge fan of the season, I was instantly interested in Megan's story as she runs a Christmas all year shop and is full of spark and joy.

Although I say joy, but really she'd rather spend Christmas alone, than deal with her family again, as her parents seem to get on only on Christmas day but not the rest of the year, and she doesn't seem to know her younger sister that well at all. So it was rather fraught when the family descended on her for most of December.

I really enjoyed getting to know Megan and Tom, and getting to the root of Tom's secrets. It is an easy story to lose yourself within, and I found it to be a rather quick read, that was really enjoyable.

I enjoyed the village of Lockton, their Christmas Promise tree is rather special, and there are various animals popping up here and there, all of which I wanted as pets, including the most apt animals for this time of year!

It's just a really lovely book with a great feel to it, and I really shouldn't' leave it as long before I read another book by Donna Ashcroft.
