An emotional story told from Evie's point of view.

The plot ticked along nicely and it was pretty obvious what had happened.

I like my thrillers a bit more dark and twisty. But on the whole a quite enjoyable read.

A father dies and brings home a mother and brother. The brother was just released from jail for killing a teenage boy that his sister was dating. As is normal in small towns, no one wants the brother back in town. The sister still struggles 20 years later to make sense of what happened that day. The day her boyfriend died.

I finished this book yesterday and still don’t know how I feel about it. That terrible day 20 years ago had a huge impact on this family and they are still dealing with it today.

The ending is unexpected and I’m still not sure how I feel about it.

No More Secrets was an easy to read emotional thriller/suspense and although a bit predictable (for me anyway), it was well written with good characters and an interesting plot. I do like my thrillers with a few more twists and more suspense but overall this was still a decent book! Thanks for allowing me an ARC to read and review.

Thrilling. Suspenseful. Taut. Breathtakingly tense. Addictive. WOW, this was a book I couldn't put down. I didn't know if I was coming or going, whom to trust and whom to suspect. It had me looking over my shoulder even as I frantically turned the pages, the tension was that unbearable, building up to a nailbiting crescendo. Brilliant. An absolutely unputdownable pageturner.

I have to say that I am a romance reader, who enjoys and expects HEA endings. Mystery/Thrillers are simply not my cup of tea. But from time to time, I like to choose something different, something to challenge me and shatter my well-established reading routine. I chose ‘No More secrets’ and believe me when I say that the least I expected was to be pulled into the book from the very beginning. So emotionally charged and so suspenseful that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
The story is not easy to read, not at all. And definitely not easy to review. I search for the right words to describe the effect it had on me, but simply fail to. The author manages to tackle topics such as guilt and grief, skillfully bouncing between the present and different period in the past, guiding the reader through this mysterious journey of truth and lies.
The whole book somehow revolves around that damn day, that unfortunate event, which simply has enough power to destroy an entire family. What to do when lies hide a truth that is too painful to be accepted. When the body itself decides to erase the memory of pain.
A young love, she - shy and insufficiently experienced in the affairs of the heart, and he - a young rebel, sinfully attractive ... one summer filled with hidden kisses and unfulfilled promises.... everything is like a beautiful dream .. Except the bloody end ... the end inflicted by the hand of the older brother, the end of a love, the end of a dream, the end of everything...
And here begins the madness, the broken heart, the painful screams, the escapes to the mountain and that unbearable darkness. How long does it take for a young soul to disintegrate? Is there an end to the suffering? How to end all that nonsense?
As you turn the pages, you have the feeling like you are being transported there, or maybe watching a film. The author adds enough details to the descriptions, that you can visualize them as you read the story. The writing style is absolutely superb, and the way the author explores harsh topics is simply amazing. Told in dual time lines, Jennifer Harvey gives the readers full understanding of the plot, giving subtle hints and glimpses of the real truth and ending, which the readers can somehow suspect, but are unwilling to accept.
All in all, the book is really gripping, dark and sad in more than one way. It could be said that is life-changing and thought-provoking on many different levels. It is more than a perfect choice for everyone who enjoys emotionally driven mysteries.

This is my first book by the author. What would you do if you lost your first love by the hand of your brother? When Evie's brother Ethan comes back for their father's funeral, all sorts of feelings come back for Evie. She knows things won't end well for Ethan in their small town. Ethan just got out of prison for serving 2o years for the murder of Michael, Evie's first love.

Told in the past and present timeline's. Evie is trying to remember what happened that fateful day when Michael died. Will Evie remember that day? Why else is Ethan back in town? What does he have to tell Evie? Before her dad passed away, he was acting a little more off than usual.

A wonder full book that I highly recommend!

This was my first book by the author and I enjoyed it. I had a feeling I knew how the book was going to end but still, you had to get there first.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

The story had pathos and feelings. A family broken over a tragedy. Now with the father dead, Evie was back home for the funeral. Ethan too was released from the prison. The family came together where Ethan protested his innocence. Evie was unsure. There was a bit of amnesia at play.

My second book by author Jennifer Harvey was engaging as it dealt with changing family dynamics where truth felt to be lie. The story was more emotionally charged as compared to other thrillers. The mystery of the past kept me moving forward. Guilt and grief both were woven well into the character of Evie.

Told in dual time lines, there were secrets buried awaiting their release. The writing meandered but soon came on track. With very few characters, the final reveal to which the story was building up to was easily surmised.

Overall, the book was an entertaining read that kept me going on a lazy afternoon.

Great mystery/suspense. The book started out a bit slow and tedious for me, but I was glad I kept reading. It is an emotional drama with a twist and an ending that surprised me. Loved the characters and the build up to recreate the events of the past. Hard to give some insight into the story without giving it away!
I received an advance. copy of this story in exchange for my honest review.

No more secrets is an emotional drama where the protagonist tries to reconstruct her memory of what happened on the fateful day twenty years back. Once this plot along with the amnesia is revealed, the conclusion becomes foregone. The beginning is slow due to the limited number of characters and not much happening in the present. The writing makes up for the lack of story but at times the book feels tedious. For fans of emotional drama.

If you loved the TV series "Rectify", you will love this book!

This book has a slow, but thrilling build to a climax you'll never see coming.

You often think you know where this story is going, but believe me when I say you'll never see the ending coming.

The writing is suburb and makes you feel like you're watching a movie.

This book really pulls you in.

This was my first Jennifer Harvey book, but it definitely won't be my last.

This is a hard book to review as I do not do spoilers and everything I want to mention is a spoiler. This book did drag in the middle but you have to keep reading to find out who the killer is. I did figure the killer out but this book had a surprising ending which I did not like

What a line to hook a reader - ‘No-one confesses to a murder they didn’t commit.’ From the off, I knew this would be an emotional read and ‘No More Secrets’ didn’t disappoint.

The moment Ethan returned, the intensity picked up. He’d served his time for murder and coming back for his father’s funeral was bound to turn heads. The family drama element of this book was strong, as was the mystery. I felt the tension and the ever brewing conflict.

This book tackles the themes of grief and guilt brilliantly, and it also explores how deep, dark, secrets can ruin lives. It’s suspenseful and thought provoking. The story is told in past and present chapters, so I got a real sense of what went on when the characters were teenagers and how that related to Evie’s state of mind in the present.

All in all, this book is a real heart-wrenching read. It’s sad in more ways than one and Jennifer Harvey has worked the emotional aspect brilliantly. If you love an emotional mystery with family tensions, then ‘No More Secrets’ is not a book to miss!

Something horrible happens and you are a witness. Or at least you think you are, because everything in your head is fuzzy and it's seems that there is only black.

You try to remember, but at the same time that's the least you want to do. Pushing it into the farthest corner of your brain is what you force yourself to do.

Will you ever remember or will the secret stay hidden forever?

A great story where the author shows us how things that happened in the past can have a strong impact on the present.

Devastating, horrible, cruel, guilt and life changing are words that flew through my mind throughout the whole book. Protection can be a good thing, but is it a good thing for everybody? 4 stars.

Thank you, Jennifer Harvey and Bookouture

Evie’s father is found dead and her family life unravels as her mother and brother return to the town for the funeral.
Her brother Ethan was in jail for 20 years for the murder of Evie’s teenage boyfriend Michael.
Evie has blackouts as a result of Michaels death and can’t remember what happened at the time, despite receiving counselling for several years.
Ethan is not welcome in the town as the locals have not forgotten or forgiven what happened.
The story itself is well written allowing the reader to see things from different viewpoints.
It was obvious from fairly early on that something was not right about Ethan’s conviction even though he confessed at the time.
I enjoyed the style of writing although was a little disappointed with the ending.
Would recommend . 3.5 Stars.

I would first like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

No More Secrets is one of those books where you kind of know the outcome of the story at the beginning and you are hoping it is not true. I don't always love books like that because in the end, it is heartbreaking.

I love that this book dealt with grief, forgiveness and the inner workings of a challenging family dynamic. It really pushed the question of how far will one go to protect their family. I love thrillers/mysteries to have heavy psychological elements and this book definitely delivered on that. I didn't love how predictable this one was. And again, once I guessed the outcome, I was like "please don't be true". That is bittersweet for me. It told me that I was truly invested in the characters (which is a great thing) and also that I didn't like where the story was heading, which is not so great.

Overall, I think if you enjoy emotionally driven thrillers/mysteries without any of the gore, you will really enjoy this one!

Twenty years ago Evie's boyfriend Michael was murdered and her brother charged and convicted of the murder.

This should have been an ideal summer for Evie, in love, she was 16 .

Evie never totally remembers the murder , she has successfully to some point blocked it out .

Her brother comes home and everything gets stirred up again. Ethan wants to tell Evie his truth and what happened.

Evie , I get it , I really do but could you at least listen . Snippets of the event are just beyond Evie's range.

Secrets, lies, deceit and murder have an effect on everyone that will last a life time.

The pages turn fast, I wanted to know the truth too.

Can you figure it out?

I did not see that ending coming at all.

Don't miss this thriller/mystery.

Jennifer Harvey has a new fan that is for certain.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouter for the pleasure of reading and reviewing No More Secrets

Evie has deeply buried the events of 20 years ago but snippets of memories rise to the surface when her brother returns after serving time for the murder of her first love. He wants to explain what happened that fateful night but can Evie's fragile psyche handle the truth?

A well written and suspenseful story that bounces between the past and present in clearly defined chapters. A slow burn that draws you in while you try to figure out what really happened.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.
