Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my copy!! Jealous sisters! And I’m talking about hateful jealousy. Told between Freya and Brooke who are sisters and their Aunt Alice who raised them who was also jealous of her sister. The twists were GOOD in this book and I loved the Alice chapters but the current chapters between Freya and Brooke were sometimes boring. I had a hard time getting through them until about 3/4 through the book when things started to happen. Overall this was a good read and I am always a sucker for a twist that I never saw coming |

I couldn't really say I liked this book. It truly was not what I expected. Almost every page was either taking place in the present or past and was hard to keep up with what was going on, plus, where were the husbands? I thought it was a bit hard to believe any of it, but you never know. Family can be really messed up sometimes. If you like this type of book, then it's for you, filled with emotion, danger, twist and turns. It did make me think of the deep rooted issues that we all carry with us from our childhood. Thanks to Net Gallery for giving me the chance to read this book for an honest opinion. |
This is a story of two sets of sisters over two timelines. Alice and Diana are one set of twins. And Brooke and Freya are Diana's daughters and they have been brought up by Alice. Brooke left the family years ago after a tragedy but Freya has invited her to her wedding and that Alice is ill. Brooke comes home and finds Fraye's husband to be is a face from the past. A great read. Plenty of twists and turns Thanks NetGalley |

Wow!! Two generations of sisters and so many secrets. Just when I thought I had it figured out there was another twist. Had me guessing til the end. I will definitely be reading more from this author. Thanks to NetGalley for the privilege to read and review this book. |
This is a story about sibling rivalry. I found it hard to get in to at first and found the rivalry a little childish. I wasn't a fan of the ending and won't be recommending this. |
I have tried numerous times to pick this book up and finish reading, but I just can’t do it. I’m halfway through and the majority is both sets of sisters going back and forth at each other and being hateful. It’s as if the jealousy was past down from generation to generation. The concept of this story is good, but the arguing back and forth is sophomoric at best. I hate when characters in book fight like they’re adolescents. I hope others are intrigued by this story and love it, but it wasn’t my cup of tea. |

I enjoyed this book alot, how ever I wasn't thrilled with the way it ended, I guess I was confused as to the little sister having a child of her own, thought it would be Eli's child the little sister had. I think the ending of this book was rushed .This book really did start off great, I just feel there are unanswered questions. |

Brooke returns home after years hiding from the past. She finds her sister Freya engaged to a man she recognises, and her aunt is crippled by dementia but hints at secrets about the girls' parents. Can the family relationships survive more lies? I was instantly drawn into My Sister's Husband. It is a wonderful mix of family drama and psychological thriller. Nicola Marsh uses multiple perspectives to let us understand the motives and actions of Brooke, Freya and Alice. I enjoyed the use of the dual timelines to show events from the past as well as the future. Sibling rivalry is a concept that most families will experience to some degree. Seeing its effect in two generations is fascinating and compelling to read. Jealousy and lies are plentiful in this book and the plot has lots of twists and turns as we find out more about the past and present. There are four main women in this book but we do not see Lizzie's perspective. Alice's timeline shows her unhappy past and how she rebuilt her life caring for her nieces. Brooke and Freya have an antagonistic relationship with each other but both want to care for Alice as she deteriorates due to the dementia. The three women are all flawed and have made mistakes which now impact their lives significantly. Overall, My Sister's Husband was a fascinating read and hugely enjoyable. |
I absolutely loved this book! brilliantly written, easy to follow and truly captivating. Certainly a book I would recommend and will looking for more by this author, |
Having grown up with a sister just fourteen months my senior, I was able to relate well to this book on so many levels. However, that being said, the incredible lies the “sisters” have conjured up in their lives are beyond anything my sister and I may have created over the years. My Sister’s Husband is an unbelievably well crafted domestic suspense thriller that has you often gasping in utter disbelief in almost every chapter. I found myself with conflicting emotions for one main character, Alice (you’ll understand when you read the book), as well as unfaltering love for little Hope. This story will make you contemplate hereditary traits as well as the control we may have over predestination. I highly recommend My Sister’s Husband by Nicola Marsh as it’s a one-of-a-kind domestic suspense thriller you won’t want to put down. |

It will keep you turning the pages deep into the night absorbed by every last word. BLOG TOUR REVIEW Review for 'My Sister's Husband' by Nicola Marsh. Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous Publication date 27th October 2020 This is the first book that I have read by this author. I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching and beautiful cover and intriguing sounding blurb. The synopsis stated that this book is a thriller for fans of Kerry Fishes amongst others. I am a big fan of Kerry Fisher so I am intrigued to see if it loves up to her standards. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book). This novel consists of a prologue and 77 chapters. The chapters are medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case! This book is based in Californa, USA 🇺🇸 This book is written in first person perspective with the protagonists being Brooke, Alice and Freya. I enjoy books written in first person perspective as as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them. The fact that there are 3 protagonists that you get to 'chat' with individually is fantastic as you get a MASSIVE picture of everything going on, how they are feeling and what they are thinking. This book is very well written and definitely unique which is hard to find in psychological novels. The blurb and cover definitely worked well with the novel. The book opens with a prologue that sets up the flavour of the story and from then it just kept getting better!! The writing style was captivating and the descriptions and languages Nicola uses captivates the imagination. The storyline was absolutely alluring and had me hooked . The changes of time lines from past to present worked well and helps to slowly put the pieces of the story together. At times it was confusing until I figured out who was talking and I quickly worked it out. The way the past and present linked really helped out the pieces together smoothly. The book was absolutely rammed with deceit, love, loss and lack of bonding to say the least!!! I couldnt believe all the secrets that were kept in one family and as they were revealed one by one I was completely knocked off my feet as I did not suspect them. I thought I had it worked out about half way through but boy was I wrong!!! If you love twists you will love these shockers!!! I was completely invested in the characters and think they were a great choice for the plot!!! I really felt sorry for Brooke, had mixed feelings about Alice and well as for Freya she was definitely one that I loved to hate!!! An image of Alice in her younger days!!! I really enjoyed reading from each of their perspectives and I found the story was really brought to life. This would make a great movie and one that I would love to watch!!! Nicola Marsh well done on completely shocking a reader who is hard to shock!!! I am definitely looking forward to reading more of your work!!! Overall a page turning psychological thriller that just keeps giving!! Prepare to be shocked!! Genres covered in this novel include Psychological Thriller, Suspense, Thriller, Crime Fiction and Psychological Fiction among others. I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as anyone looking for a thriller that keeps you guessing, on your toes and will just keep surprising you!! 344 pages. This book is 99p to purchase on kindle via Amazon or free which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!! I LOVED this book! I'd been in a bit of a slump after reading a few books I wasn't really into and then BOOM! I LOVED this book!! I was a big fan of Nicola Marsh's The Last Wife so I had a good feeling about My Sister's Husband and, boy,was I right. This book has twists and secrets and secrets that have secrets. If you like psychological thrillers this is a must read for sure! Brooke returns home for her sister Freya's wedding. Brooke has been gone for 11 years and hasn't had much contact with her family. But now with the wedding and Aunt Alice having dementia, Brooke wants to see her before she is too far gone. Aunt Alice means the world to Brooke as after Brooke and Freya's parents died in a car accident, she took the girls in and raised them as her own along with her daughter Lizzie. Then things get interesting. To say this family has issues is putting it mildly. Thank you to #Netgalley and Bookouture for an early copy of My Sister's Husband. Pick this one up, you won't be disappointed. |
After years away, Brooke is going home for her siter’s wedding and to visit her beloved aunt who raised them as she has fallen ill. Freya has always been jealous of her sister, Brooke. Much like her aunt was of her own sister (their mother) but now she has it all. When she recognises her sister’s fiancé Brooke must face up to the past and the demons she is running from. I loved this read. It kept the pace throughout and had a steady build up to revealing all the secrets of the past that the characters had tried so desperately to keep hidden. The twist was phenomenal, I was blindsided-exquisite! |

This is a story of rivalry between sisters Brooke and Freya. I found it confusing at the start going between the then and now so it took a while to get in to it. It did develop into a good story |
Buy this book. Now. Don’t wait. I mean, read this review if you want to, but seriously, if you are a fan of Psych Thrillers this is the one for you. I’m not even sure where to start with the twists in this one. When you think you know what is happening. You don’t. When you think you’ve learned all of the secrets. You haven’t. When you think you’ve figured out all of the lies. You’re not even close. This book had layers upon layers of secrets, parallel story lines with similarities in timelines, and intricate relationships that may or may not be what they seem. I can’t say enough good things about it. However, that being said, I also am struggling to figure out how to write this review without giving away any of the plot points, because it would be a shame if readers had a heads up. This is definitely one to read without any hints. To say that Freya and Brooke have a shaky sisterhood is an understatement. I loved the way that their issues mirrored Alice and Diana’s. It was interesting to see how the author drew the parallels but not as clearly as one would imagine. There was also great emphasis on family loyalties and how they can be misconstrued or misplaced. The question of “does history repeat itself” came to mind a few times, but with the caveat of “do we create our own destiny by our actions.” I know that sounds heavy, and this book is anything but that. It is crisply written, with a tight plot, and lots of twists (literally up until the very last page). I didn’t say a lot about the plot – you can get a synopsis elsewhere. But seriously: Do. Not. Miss. This. Book. It just rocketed towards the top of my best reads of the year. |
Took me awhile to get into this one but think that was down to needing a good run at it. Once that happened I couldn’t put it down. Really intense twists that kept me so interested in what was going to happen. Loved the switching from past to present and character to character. Loved some characters and hated others with one in particular I really just didn’t like. I’m fairly good for guessing what’s coming but I only got some of it right with this one. The ending was a little abrupt but at least all was explained. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this ARC and review that was published on the 27th of Oct. |

Freya and Brooke were brought up by their Aunt Alice with their cousins Lizzie after their parents were killed in a car accident. Alice has always treated them all as her daughters and been there for them through good and bad times. Brooke left town after her teenage boyfriend died and hasn’t returned for 11 years but now Alice is unwell and Freya is getting married. She finds Alice worse than she thought and Freya has a daughter she never knew existed. So many family secrets and underlying jealousies that run through two generations of family. This is a book that will grip you until the end with twists you don’t see coming. #netgalley #nicolamarsh #mysistershusband |
Oh my God! This is such a great book. I was not ready for the ending. It literally left me jittery and I want to ask the author to write a sequel to this one. Loved every minute spent reading this book. |
I liked the twists and turns of this story. I loved Hope, Lizzie and Brooke! The ending was questionable but overall I rate the book a 3.8! Thanks Netgalley! |

This is a good one. Suspenseful, twisty, and shocking. The story draws you in and is literally unputdownable. I stayed up into the early hours to finish this as I was so gripped by it. I look forward to more books from this author. |
