This book is written in the point of view of each character which I rather enjoyed. Each individual character would have some small clue that you would save for later and piece together throughout the book to come to the final conclusion. It is a classic example of a Who done it!
I on the other hand did not come to any conclusion remotely close to the truth until literally right before it was revealed. Which again makes it for a good mystery.
Although I did enjoy all the characters having their independent story line, it did get a little wordy at times and felt like an information dump that took Away from the momentum of the story.
The creativity of the writer was great and I will for sure check out more more of her books.

Your children… You always want to protect them and keep them safe, but when they grow older you have to let them go, little by little and let them live their own life.
Going away with friends or to parties… You still have a say there, but when they go on a school trip, you are reassured. They are in the capable hands of their teachers who will see to the safety of your precious ones. Until that devastating call and you feel like the world stopped turning. You keep on hoping and praying but then a parent’s worst nightmare is about to start…
High school. It should be the best time of your life, but very often for some it’s the worst. Bullying galore can make you miserable and maybe it’s time for the bully to be on the receiving end. It’s great when a plan comes together, but sometimes the outcome is an enormous disaster.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I liked the way the author gave us the chance to follow the story from different angles.
I had a feeling who was behind some of the events, but I never saw where it would take me. Shockingly good!
Never bully, never manipulate because revenge is around the corner. You just don’t know when it is going to hit you. 5 stars.

16 year old Zoe is The Girl Who Never Came Home. In this story, she went to a camp which the private school she attends hosts ever year. However, as the sun comes up on the 2nd day at camp, her mother, Lydia, gets that call every parent dreads: her daughter is missing. Frantic, Lydia races up to assist with the search, convinced that her daughter is just lost. But then Zoe's body is found. Lydia is convinced that something awful caused her daughter to leave camp and she needs to find out what it was.

This book was written from different perspectives. Lydia gets to tell her tale. So does Shayna, Zoe's best friend, Bernadette, the older teacher who was in charge of the camp and Jessie, Zoe's big sister. My favorite character would have to be Shayna just because of how strong her character was. I was not a fan of Bernadette.

The plot moved quickly and there were a lot of twists. At one point, I was convinced that everyone knew something about what happened with Zoe. Closer to the end though, I started to suspect who it was.

The author spoke a lot about mean girls and social media bullying, something every parent in this day and age is aware of. She also showed how little some parents know about their own children While very sweet at home, they can be awful at school. I would definitely try more books by this author.

Teens and adults can read this book. There was not much detail about her death but there are some themes throughout this book that are not suitable for children.

Unique presentation of a story. The beginning of the book sets the stage: Zoe goes on a school camping trip and disappears. Her body is found the morning after.

The rest of the book is like a back story, even though it takes place in the present. Various people in Zoe's life explain their relationship with Zoe and their impression of her. In each character you can sense that an important fact is being left out. At one point, it seems that everyone in Zoe's life might know something about her mysterious death. Everyone has secrets that they are holding back.

All of us are all viewed differently by people in our lives but when those views are put together they create the whole person. This is how we learn who Zoe was.

Zoe is a multi faceted character. She has a nice, sweet side but she also has a mean girl side.

Well written, very relevant to our times and culture. And, perhaps there is a lesson to be learned.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance readers copy.

I loved this book. It focuses on a sixteen year old girl, Zoe, who goes missing at a school camp. They find her body a few days later and everyone is devastated. How could a young girl die on a school trip? The answer has an impact on everyone. What really happened to Zoe?

This story is told from many characters point of view and the chapters name the person narrating that chapter. I loved this, especially at the beginning when I was learning everyone. The story is very complex because there are so many people involved but no so complex that it’s hard to follow. I can’t wait to read more books by this author!

Nicole Trope will always keep you guessing. This is the second book I've read by her and now I really have to read all of her books. She writes compelling and empathetic characters and definitely keeps the reader intrigued with questions until the end.

After Zoe, a 16 year old, is found dead at a school camp in the Blue Mountains of NSW, all of the people in her life try to deal with the loss, the unanswered questions, and their own secrets surrounding her death. Make sure to clear some time in your schedule when you start this. I had to read it all at once.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this advanced copy.

Breathtaking, Your worst nightmare come to life and I could not put it down. This book takes you through a twisty turny forest of dark deceptions and realities in the life several teenage girls. Best friends on the surface ... but still waters run deep. Told from several view points which richly woven this tale and made you feel compassion for all the character involved. The story was full of suspense and begged to be read in one sitting. You can not put this down down until you read the final chapter to learn... what happened that fateful night Zoe died?

Sixteen year old Zoe is on a school camping trip when she turns up missing, and later dead. Zoe is a deeply flawed human being, and we follow several narrators in retelling their interactions with and the events leading up to her death. It is a suspense type of book as we don't learn towards the end who is responsible for her death, but it is an incredibly nuanced and emotional journal. I found the ending to be satisfying, yet thought provoking and I felt deeply for all involved in the story. Great story!

I wasn’t sure what to spect from this book but the characters broke my heart a little more with every chapter. The premise seemed simple Lydia loses her 16 year old Daughter Zoe dies whilst at a school camp. The book doesn’t just look at the devastation of Zoe’s family but others also affected by the tragedy.
Zoe’s death is the stone dropped into a pond and the ripples are all the people affected.
The book is written in the POV of several people including Zoe’s best friend and a school teacher supervising the school camp.
The author gets teenage girls perfectly as well the pressures modern day teenagers have from the world of social media. I liked the journey the author takes us on as the characters move through the emotional impact of Zoe’s death.
I will be looking for the authors other books. This was a heart wrenching read bu5 I highly recommend it.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is Suspense/Thriller/Mystery. This book starts off slow, but I have to say the middle picks up. I had trouble getting through the beginning, and the middle and the end was so good. I did not see some of the twist and turns before they came up. Some of the characters I had trouble following, but the other characters I really loved. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Bookouture) or author (Nicole Trope) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is schedule to be release on November 4-2020.

Told from the perspective of different people involved in this tragedy - her mother, sister, friends, teachers - it has a very gripping plot. You want to read it through to find out how Zoe died. Did someone kill her? If so, what was their motive? Zoe was a teenager acting out, a bully, and yet also a very loved young woman.

This is such a heartbreaking book and even more so because it centres around a very relevant issue that young people face - online harassment and threats.

The book kept me completely intrigued and since the subject of troubled young people is close to my heart, I could totally relate to the story.

The Girl Who Never Came Home, by Nicole Trope, will shock you to your very core! 5+ stars! Another stunning MUST READ from the mastermind of women’s fiction, thrilling psychological suspense, and family drama! It is an emotionally charged, thrilling, and suspenseful rollercoaster read that is impossible to put down! Nicole Trope gives new meaning to the phrase “dark and twisty!” It is an unforgettable mind-blowing experience! Keep the tissues nearby, but every year shed will be well worth it!

The Girl Who Never Came Home proves that Nicole Trope’s literary talents are parallel with those of Jodi Picoult, Liane Moriarty, Gillian Flynn, and Lisa Jewell! It’s a wickedly wonderful read, and epic storytelling at its best! The Girl Who Never Came Home is a twisted and beautifully written masterpiece about the strength of a mother’s love, and the power within pressure, torment, and angst. It will fill you with a ferocious and intense need to hug your loved ones and never let go! Nicole Trope has reached new heights of brilliantly portraying the depth of emotions and the limits of moral boundaries. The Girl Who Never Came Home is a testament to how the ties that bind can also threaten to shatter and destroy lives. This literary gem is a moral wake-up call about standing out while still trying to fit in. It is a spellbinding account of the emotional upheaval that comes as a result of the truth being altered by love and hate. When secrets hidden within blurred realities are exposed, no one escapes unscathed.

Lydia has already survived a tragedy when her husband, Eli, the father of her daughter Jessie and Zoe died at a young age. It was only fair to assume that the most painful and worst moment of her life were behind her. Her oldest daughter, Jessie, is working hard and finding success at med school. Zoe, her youngest daughter, has always been a bit spoiled, dramatic, and emotional. Lydia and her daughters stepfather, Gabriel, agree that 16 year old Zoe needs more structure and limitations. After a heated argument, Lydia feels somewhat relieved when she drops Zoe off to attend a three day school sponsored camping trip. Relief soon turns to regret when she receives a phone call and learns that her daughter disappeared in the middle of the night and is missing. When Zoe is found dead and the police struggle to come up with answers, those who knew her feel the burden of blame for reasons they’re desperate to keep hidden.

Told from the perspectives of Zoe’s mom, sister, peers, teachers, and community members, it becomes clear that Zoe’s death wasn’t an accident.

Zoe didn’t deserve to die, but everyone had reasons to despise her. She was a bully, and her vindictiveness and cruelty had no limits. Being honest about what happened that night isn’t easy though when everyone is harboring secrets.

Thank you Nicole Trope, Bookouture, and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege of reading The Girl Who Never Came Home. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.

The Girl Who Never Came Home by Nicole Trope tells a story of a mother's love and the heart-wrenching story of when a child goes missing. There were many twists and turns, which made for an incredible and page-turning story.

The characters were unique, and the scenes were described well and had me right in the middle of the story with the characters.

The author wrote with sensitivity, and I would like to read more from this author.
