Well this is getting repetitive now!! Not the the Kim Stone series but me and hundreds of other readers having nice things to say. I've honestly run out. But there's one thing I really have to point out about this series which I love. These books are really inclusive without shouting about it. If a character is gay, they just are gay. Just like in life. On a different note but in the same vein of inclusiveness I love Penns brother Jasper. Growing up with a brother with Downs Syndrome its great to see a character who isn't just a conduit to the story but a character in their own right

Five stars as always, just a fabulous read.

It's business as usual for Kim and her team. Kim is consulting on security for the visit of a controversial author, Bryant is being Bryant, Penn is grieving after his monther's death and Stacey is reviewing unsolved cases from another station. Stacey finds an unsolved rape in the pile and proceeds to start investigating it. It gets pushed to one side when the team are called to the scene of the murder of a young mother. There are no clues and when there is another murder the following day but where the child is abducted, things start hotting up.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced book and don't hesitate to recommend it. Thanks Netgalley

A Killer Without A Motive. A Crime Without Passion? What kind of killer is this?

DI Kim Stone and her team are thrown when an innocent young mother is murdered for no apparent reason. When another young mother is killer a day later, the team finds themselves at a loss. With the help of some old frenemies, the team identifies a crafty and powerful murderer.

I read this series for the team: Kim, Bryant, Stacey, and Penn. In this addition, Penn is struggling with a loss. Stacey finally seems happy, and Kim and Bryant were pretty calm. My biggest complaint about this book is that there was not enough of the team featured. My favorite moments were scenes when they all worked together, but my overall favorite scene involved Penn and his brother Jasper.

The mysteries were not my favorite. They usually lure me in, but this time, I felt a lack of connection. However, the team kept me motivated to find out what in the world was going on. I was thrown a bit when all was revealed.

Overall, this was another solid installment to the series. While not a favorite, it was still really good. It’s fast-paced and sharply written. In the next book, I want more Kim, more Stacey, more Bryant, and, especially, more of Penn!

Angela marsons is one of my favourite authors and I have read all the Kim stone books and loved them, this one was no different. Marsons knows how to create a character, in Kim stone you see a strong woman whose weaknesses and tragic past she wears for the reader to see, you grow to love her. This book offers the same exciting twists and turns that I have come to expect from marsons and even after all these books I am still not able to guess the twists. I really enjoyed this and I look forward to the next.

Wow! ‘Deadly Cry’ is a nail-biting instalment in the Kim Stone series and I loved it. There’s a murderer to catch, a puzzle to solve and a missing child, and that’s just the start. The story later crashes into a shocking denouement that left me open mouthed. I was like... what? No... Ooh... (no spoilers)!

I love Stacey’s character and I really enjoyed the chapters where she was investigating the historic rape cases. The team dynamics are brilliant and make for an absolutely addictive read, especially during the tense moments and boy were there some to remember. ‘Deadly Cry’ had them in abundance.

The handwriting expert chapters were fascinating and I love how well researched they were. I gained a lot of insight into what happens in that profession so I learned something new - bonus.

This book is cleverly plotted, fast moving and a stunning piece of detective fiction. It had me guessing at the why and who throughout and DI Kim Stone is a legend. As a side comment, I love the chapter in which she purchases the bike frame - very witty.

If you love a twisty police procedural that once it’s sucked you in, you can’t put it down, then this is your book. Another fantastic addition to Angela Marsons’ series and definitely not one to be missed!

When a killer sends DI Kim Stone a letter asking her to stop him, Kim is determined to do just that. Kim, Bryant, Penn & Stacey are back together and trying to solve this case. The behaviourist, Alison also is back to try and help find the killer.

Stacey is also working on an old rape case as well as the murders. She has a lot on her plate, especially with her upcoming wedding to Devon.

Penn is struggling with the loss of his mother and trying to stay strong for his little brother, Jasper.

This is a book that I could not put down. An excellent plot with fantastic characters throughout. The humour between Kim and Bryant is still there and definitely needed to help lighten a dark story.
I must also mention the scene between Penn and Jasper, beautifully written by the author, it really touched me.

You can never go wrong with the Kim Stone series and I can highly recommend this latest book.

I love this series of books by Angela Marsons, and eagerly await the next instalment of the life and cases of detective Kim Stone and her team. This, of course, was no exception. It had all the elements that we, the reader have come to know, to love and to expect from an Angela Marsons novel

Wow! Angela Marsons does it again! Kim Stone is just brilliant, definitely my favourite character in a long line of female derelict I’ve books.

The body of a young mother is discovered in an abandoned building while her daughter is left holding a teddy bear in a busy shopping centre... Book 13 in this excellent series featuring D.I. Kim Stone. The author has maintained high standards and psychological insights throughout this 13 book series. I absolutely love the whole character development of every member of the team, but especially Stacey as each book is bringing her more and more to the forefront and I can’t wait to see where her role takes her from here.

I like how the characters of Stacey , Penn and Bryant are developing . The topic of sibling rivalry was new to me and I did not particularly like how it panned out in this novel. I thought this book lacked some of the intrigue of previous books and was more analytical in its profiling of the suspects. It was a good read but Kim Stone seems to be lacking her usual gusto .

A great puzzle in a book and one that will have you continuing to read to see what happens next. Good solid characters and a storyline that will take you exactly where the writer wants you to go with a bit of a surprise at the ending.

Deadly Cry is an absolute RAPID READ........

I don't know how Angela Marsons does it every time. And we're celebrating at #13 in this sizzlin' series. The chapters are chunked with high interest and splendid detail while being short and page-turnable in split seconds. The usual crew keeps the zingers going in the dialogue while evolving with their own professional and private lives.

Let's crack this one open.

D.I. Kim Stone has been given orders to attend a meeting on police protection involving a book signing for a bit of a has-been celebrity. Tyra Brooks has penned a tell all book detailing her latest affair. Kim sits bleary-eyed listening to the details and eyeballing the routes to be guarded. Her phone rings and now there's more serious business to attend to.

A young woman's body has been found nearby. Her death must have come within moments. And in the same vicinity is a child sobbing in a local store aisle. Much to Kim's dismay, the two are connected. Who would have murdered a young mother leaving her child behind? And why?

Kim's team has been undergoing life changes as well. DS Penn's mother passed away leaving him the sole care of his special needs brother. Stacey Wood is in the middle of planning her upcoming wedding to her partner and not everything is going well. Angela Marsons has a gift for keeping her characters dipped in their humanity. She recognizes that great sacrifice comes with the job.

Marsons knows how to juggle multiple threads in her storylines. Stacey and Penn have been given a stack of cold case files to sort through in the midst of everything else. Stacey zeroes in on two rape cases that peak her interest. Although very different in nature, Stacey locks on to something that may connect the two.

And then.......there's another body. And complicating things is a letter that is addressed personally to Kim. from the killer. Kim seeks help from Alison Lowe, a behaviorist profiler, who has assisted Kim in the past. There seems to be something highly unusual about this murderer. And they know that it's just a matter of time before the next one.

Deadly Cry can be read as a standalone. Believe me, a RAPID READ is what we all need about now. And Angela Marsons works her magic once again. A Wowzer every time.

This book rates a solid 5 stars …and I will admit, I don’t give those out too readily! This isn’t my first rodeo with Angela Marsons…. I discovered her a while ago and decided to go back to the beginning and read through and get to know Kim Stone and her band of dedicated detectives. What I like about Marsons writing is that after reading 13 books …her stories are still a joy to read. There were a number (no, a lot!!!) of twists and turns in this novel that I never had the villain on my radar. Loved the humor throughout the book to break up the tension. Excellent ending …I never ever saw it coming!

Loved it!! I feel completely invested in these character’s lives; Kim Stone and her team spring off the pages and become real. Angela always manages to come up with a story line that’s unique and has me flying through the pages, while dreading getting to the end because that will be it until she writes another book!

I absolutely love Kim Stone and am a huge fan of this series and it didn't disappoint. I devoured the book in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of the rollercoaster ride.

I love Penn and his brother Jasper and love having their stories intertwined in the main story. I find all the characters really engaging and the books are so engaging and well written.

ANother 5* read and can't wait for the next one!

A young child is found abandoned alone, clutching a teddy bear in a local shopping centre. So, there is a big search to find her the mother of the child. Why would someone just abandon the child? Sadly, hours later a body is found dead with a broken neck in an abandoned building and it turns out to be the mother of the child. Hours later another body turns up with the same M.O but the child that was with her Archie has disappeared. DI Kim Stone and her team are to investigate not only to investigate the murders but there are running out of time to find out where Archie is. They are worried that he will also turn up dead.
Deadly Cry by Angela Marsons is the 13th book in the DI Kim Stone series and the series just gets better and better. The quality Ms Marsons writing never falters and storyline is always fresh and original. I love how the characters in this story, it is like being back with old friends. I love the comradery between them especially between Kim and Bryant they are like a double act and the hardworking rising star of Stacey and Penn. This is another excellent and exciting episode in the series. If you haven’t read any of these books in this series. I would highly recommend.

The Kim Stone series (book 13) ‘Deadly Cry’ is yet another brilliant read. I have been a huge fan of Angela Marsons since the first book in this series and the author seems to get the balance spot on every time. Human interactions combined with gritty plots which never pull punches.
I would say that having read the previous twelve novels my enjoyment is enhanced as I understand the characters and the sub-plots surrounding them but this can easily be read as a stand-alone.

It begins with a young girl found, without any parents, in a shopping centre clutching her teddy bear. Her mother, Katrina, is missing and her body is found hours later in an abandoned building, with her neck snapped. She has scratches on her arm.

A few days later the second victim is found, with her neck broken in the same way although no scratches this time. However, her son is missing, assumed kidnapped by the murderer. Why the change?

At the same time as DI Kim Stone is investigating these murders after receiving letters directly addressed to her from, what appears to be, the killer, Detective Stacey Wood is looking into an old rape case where nobody was charged.

Cleverly plotted, numerous twists and turns with some unpleasant, devious characters littering the sub-plots.
