The thirteenth book in the Kim Stone Series by Angela Marsons and once again it's another winner. As with all of this authors books, the story is packed with action, thrills and great characters I have come to know and love. I loved the gripping storyline which kept going throughout the book, I really didn't want it to end.
Angela's writing just keeps getting better, this is another fantastic installment to the series and I'm already eager to read the next book.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this entertaining novel

D.I kim stone is back and taking no prisoners, she is arrogant, tough, argumentative but she gets cases solved...and she has her teams backing....

when a body turns up of a young woman with a broken neck, cctv shows her with a daughter, who turns up safe but with not many clues to go on, its a race against time....

its not helped when stone is told she has to take part in looking after a minor celebrity who was doing a book signing....but as another body is added to the mix could there be a serial killer around....

brilliantly written and the twist is brilliant...didnt see that coming at all...

cant wait for the next in the series

4.5 stars

This is the thirteenth book in the DI Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons.

This is the first book I have read in this series, but I can tell this author is just killing it! What a great book. I am so into reading this series now. I have a few in my Kindle library that I need to dig out and read!

The team in this is awesome and I am totally digging how the mystery unfolded and made us grip the edge of our seats wondering how it would all turn out. What a masterful writer! I now have a new must read author for sure!

Definitely dig into this series! I am going to go back and get all the previous 12 books!

If you love a good police procedural, detective fiction mystery, definitely check this one out.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

This series never disappoints.
I eagerly await a new version partly because I really want to change my career and join the detective team led by Kim Stone - that is how much I love the characters and stories.
Moving and personal as well as a really good detective novel, another great outing for the team.
This one is about rivalries and a serial killer on the lose. It shows the power of relationships and how they can support people but also what happens when they go wrong.

A fantastic novel with dynamic plot lines running throughout the narrative. Angela Marsons has created a unique and utterly intriguing cast of addictive characters that stay with the reader long after that last page is read. The storyline broaches several tough topics with multiple twists and turns leading readers on one wild ride. A fantastic addition to the series!

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC of #DeadlyCry which was read and reviewed voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Detective Kim Stone is called to a crime scene where the body of Katrina was found in an abandoned building. Kim is thinking it might look like a quick murder but something tells her there is more to this murder that she needs to find out. Why would someone want to kill a younger mother that was out shopping with her child? Days later a second victim is found at a local pack and her six-year-old son is missing. Will Kim and her team find and stop this killer? Will the little boy be found safe? You just gotta read to find out.

MY REVIEW:
I was hooked from the start, couldn't stop reading. I love mysteries this once kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I finished this book in one night. The author did a good job. You can really see that Angela really knows her stuff. She is truly the Queen of Crime. Loved all the details and vibe of the book. It was my first time reading something from Angela Marson and it won't be the last. I will be checking out her other books for sure. I really enjoyed the Character of DI Kim Stone, she doesn't put up with any crap and is soo opinionated. I LOVE it.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for giving the chance to read and review this awesome book.

A little girl clutching her teddy bear in the middle of a busy shopping centre and her mom is nowhere to be seen, hours later a woman's body is recovered and identified as Katrina, the girls mother, but what was the motive of this seemingly pointless murder? Then another victim is discovered in a local park, same MO, except for one small detail plus her young son is also missing. Kim knows that she needs to find the perpetrator and the little boy, but resources in the team are stretched and this case is turning more weird by the minute, especially when a handwritten letter, addressed to Kim from the killer, lands on her desk, pleading with her to help them stop killing, can she find the killer in time, or will someone else lose their life?

This is book 13 in the Stone series and it's always great to catch up with Kim and the team and read books set in the familiar surroundings of the Black Country, as in all her books Angie Marsons hits the ground running and reels the reader in from page one and you just know that you're in for a real treat. I loved seeing Stacey step up to the plate, using her detective skills to work on a separate unsolved crime, and also getting to know more about Penn and the struggles he's facing in his personal life following a family bereavement, as well as the return of Alison, a behaviourist, who we met earlier in the series. Once again Marsons delivers an absolutely cracking read full of surprises that keeps you guessing till the end.

I'd like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.

This is one of those rare series where the quality just doesn't falter. Kim is again on top form as she investigates a string of seemingly motiveless killings. Meanwhile Stacey has taken on a cold case, why has a convicted rapist not been punished for all his crimes?
Love the relationship between Penn and Jasper hopefully there's more to come from them.

I absolutely love this series of books and requested this as soon as I saw it. I can’t believe this is the 13th book in the series! Another really good instalment in the series just can’t wait for the next one!

When it seems there are pairs of murders that bear many similarities, but not quite enough, the team have to decide if this is one or two killers. Alongside this case is the shuffle case that Stacey takes on that ends up being way more than she thought it would be.
As always, the story is gripping and I didn’t manage to work out ‘who donnit’ until it was revealed.
Another great Kim Stone book.

After reading the previous 12 books and the prequel I was looking forward to this book and I wasn’t disappointed. What a story it had me crying and in suspense my heart was in my mouth on more than one occasion and believe me the last line of this book has me waiting for book 14, take your time savour the twists and feel the anxiety it’s all there to enjoy

Another enthralling thriller from Angela Marsons and again, one where you can immerse yourself into the world of DI Kim Stone and her team.
Whilst I much prefer to be entertained rather than educated after reading any novel (and this one is hugely entertaining) I always come away from this author having learned a little about a new psychological condition.which makes for good conversation afterwards.
Very interesting, fast paced, exciting page turner once again.
Many thanks.

Another great instalment in this brilliant series. I love the characters and like reading more about them in each book. This story is really well thought out and there are a couple of really good twists in the plot. I read this book in one sitting. It is definitely a page turner.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

A killer who does not want to kill. A killer who wants to be stopped. DI Kim Stone has her hands full in this killer of a novel by Angela Marsons. This is book #13 a series which is still going strong! Kim Stone is a strong female character who has a sharp mind, a sharp tongue and will not stop until she gets to the bottom of things.

A young mother has gone missing at a busy shopping center. Her dead body is found later. What was the motive for killing her? Did the killer know the victim? Is this a random act of violence? Days later another victim is found. The killer writes a letter(s) to DI Stone. The plot thickens....

There is a lot going on in this book. Murders that do not make sense. There does not seem to be a rhyme or reason to the killings and what is with the scratches left on the bodies? How long has this killer been killing? How far back do these crimes go? Why does the killer want to be stopped?

Could this work as a stand-alone? Perhaps, but it is always so nice to see the continuing of each character’s storylines. The team is very likeable with great camaraderie and with each book we get to see them grow, fall in love, face hardships, grieve, form stronger bonds, get to know their loved ones, etc.

Another great installment!

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

When it is calm on CID, the detectives have something they call a shuffle. They take a look at unsolved cases from other districts in the hope that a fresh set of eyes might solve them. Stacey tries to solve a rape case where the alleged perpetrator is already in jail for a similar crime but she has a hunch that it might not be that easy. But she has to stop her research when all hands are needed for some strange unusual murders.
First, a child is found alone in a shopping centre and hours later her mother is discovered with a broken neck at a derelict building around the corner. The next day another housewife and mother is found murdered in the same manner but now her little son is also missing. Both women were totally inconspicuous, average mothers and there’s no reason why either of them should be targeted. The murders are ‘clean’ without blood, rage, anger or other emotions are shown. Then the killer reaches out to DI Kim Stone, begging her to stop him from killing again.
On top of that, an ageing model who wrote a kiss and tell book about a married footballer comes to the shopping mall for a book signing and for some unclear reason DI Stone is made to handle the security preparations.

First of all, I have to thank my GR friend Maureen for pointing out this series to me and I was more than happy with what I’ve read. I’m definitely a fan now. I totally see why Marsons is the standard in this genre. Everything fits together: a compelling, engaging story, realistic characters and ever raising suspense that made me miss my bedtime 2 nights in a row.
This is an ongoing series but I’ve had no problems with the storyline or the background stories. The team members are all likeable but still individuals with a real history and background. I only read this one story and they already feel like friends.
Kim Stone is a skilled detective with a badass attitude. She’s rude, brutal, and steps on other people’s toes when she’s convinced of her own opinion. Even those in authority aren’t exempt and efforts to make her play nice with others are met with hostility and even aggression. Nevertheless, her team would jump through a hoop for her. I didn’t particularly warm towards her myself but the other team members make up for that.
Every theory I formed while reading was debunked a bit later and the final solution was even better and totally unexpected.
I thank Netgalley and Bookouture for the free ARC they provided me with; this is my unbiased and honest review of it.

Another fantastic five star read from one of my go to authors and definitely one of my favourites. I love the Kim Stone series and have been with her from the beginning. This is her thirteenth case. Kim is her usual belligerent self, does not suffer fools gladly. She is back with her usual team, Bryant her work partner who tries to keep her grounded, sometimes it does not work. A really clever plot, chilling and twisted and with a teaser for the next book. If you had not read this series WHY NOT, where have you been. You need to start reading Now!!! I promise you will not be disappointed.
Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.
