Thank you to Net Galley and CJ Lyons for the advanced copy in return for my honest review. This book is available on November 10th so be sure to pre-order or out a reminder in your calendar to order day of!

Leah, a doctor, recently left the ER to start as a consultant for the police department. Luka, a police officer, met Leah a year ago when he shot and killed the man who murdered her husband. Since then their personal and professional lives have become intertwined. This story has them both involved in the search for a serial killer who claims to have had a hand in Luka’s fiancée’s death, seventeen years prior.

I will say that although I enjoyed this book, it is the second book in a series and having not had a chance to read the first book I felt as though I missed a lot of character development and story lines. Knowing this I would have read the first book (The Next Widow) so that I could feel a bit more connected to the characters. All that to say – this was a really great book! The author did an excellent job of keeping multiple story lines going at once and threading them throughout one another to keep the book moving. I am an avid reader and can usually figure out the ending, which can often take the fun out of reading. This book had me wondering from start to finish!

As I read on many of the reviews, I too agree ... it started out really slow. I considered a DNF review. I put it to the side, read a few in between, and then picked it up again the other night. I am glad I finished it. The pace definitely picked up and became a much smoother ride, though, I do have to say, this was not the best. I figured out The Who pretty quickly once I was introduced to the characters (it was almost too obvious).

The thing about this book is not solving the mystery, it’s more about the character arc from book 1. I am curious to see what happens next but I did not enjoy this one as much as the first one.

Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for this eARC.

My thanks to C.J.Lyons, Bookoutre and Netgalley.
I read the first Jericho and Wright book just this past year, and was completely blown away! This second book didn't let me down at all. The mystery is intense, and just damn near nail biting! But....it's the people that I like. Not just like, but a love that I only share with some few other "story character's!"
I'm here for these people!

Dr. Leah Wright has suffered through the loss of her husband who was murdered in their own home. She and her young daughter Emily are coping, but she has left her position as an ER nurse in order to be more available for her daughter. She is now working with the police as the head of the new Crisis Prevention Program. She will be working with Detective Luca Jericho who lost his fiancée seventeen years ago when she committed suicide. A woman is dead, falling over a railing to the floor below. Did her mentally impaired husband kill her? This case is the beginning of a wide-ranging investigation that will reveal a serial killer who has been sending emails to a woman, bragging about the people he has killed. Luca and Emily will slowly develop leads that will take them through to the thrilling end. A very well thought out police procedural combined with the human-interest stories of Luca, Leah and her spunky daughter Emily. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

This is the second book in this series and continues one month on from where we left off, Leah Wright who still mourning the loss of her husband has taken a job in the hospital which sees her with more regular hours (for stability for her daughter Emily) and working alongside the police department, she is called to her first scene. A woman has fallen to her death to the atrium in an apartment block and her husband suffering from dementia needs someone to help calm him down so Det Luca Jericho and his team can investigate whether it was an accident/suicide/murder!

As if things aren’t complicated enough, one of the neighbours who is a witness is suffering from sickness which is undiagnosed due to the variance of symptoms and Leah wants to help her and aside from that during their discussions, she tells Leah about an email stalker who claims to be a serial killer….

This was an emotional rollercoaster for both Jericho and Leah and their personal struggles with the past, the journey they are both on are is tremendous, they are very likeable strong characters and I look forward to learning/growing with them as the series develops.

An intriguing thriller with more twists than a rollercoaster, once you start reading this, you will be drawn in, you will not want to put it down, its fast paced and never releases its grip until the end. Can’t wait for No. 3!

GRABS you immediately & never lets go. Totally enjoyed the 2 main characters, (Leigh& Luka) in this police procedural. The plot was TERRIFIC with lots of suspense & 2nd guessing who the murderer was. First time reading this author but I have already purchased The Next Widow. RECOMMEND highly. Thanks to NetGalley & Bookouture for a complimentary copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book had me going in all sorts of directions....kind of going into the rabbit hole! Very suspenseful! Characters well defined! I was skeptical about reading something totally different from the CJ Lyons series and it took me awhile to read it, but I gave it a chance and it proved beyond a doubt that the author was on a different path with different characters, but still a heart-pounding thrill ride!

Thank you to #NetGalley for allowing me the AC! Definitely a must read!

In the past month Dr Leah Wright has faced the trauma of losing her husband to a violent killer, moved herself and her daughter from the family home, and started a new job away from her beloved ER. Now working as the head of the Crisis Intervention Centre attached to the hospital she is called in by Detective Luka Jericho to help at a crime scene for the first time after a woman falls to her death.

As the case continues Leah is introduced to Risa Saliba who lived across the hallway from the murder victim and has complex medical issues. Once a famous photographer but now housebound she tells Leah how she is being stalked by someone who claims to have been killing and getting away with it for almost two decades.

A shocking discovery seems to link their serial killer to the death of Luka’s fiancée seventeen years earlier which was previously considered a suicide. As other victims are discovered the race is on to catch a murderer who has gone undetected for far too long and seemingly leaves no trace of themselves. With Detective Jericho sidelined from the investigation and Leah still grieving time is running short to find the necessary clues and then the killer strikes close to home.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and thought I had it sorted a few times, changed my mind, changed it again! The background stories of the two main protagonists were fleshed out a little and the secondary storyline with Leah's daughter Emily and Luka’s nephew Nate was really well done with a very satisfying conclusion. As Leah and Luka have each taken centre stage in one of the first two books I am looking forward to see what comes next for both of them.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers. The opinions expressed are my own and I would recommend it to fans of this author and taut police procedurals in general.

This book has been completely and utterly enthralling and impossible to put down. I have devoured this book in just one sitting.
I love this author and this book has not disappointed. I have been captivated from very early on and kept on the edge of my seat throughout this book
This is completely unique to anything I've read. This author has a real talent for pulling the reader into the plot and making you feel as though you are right there with the characters.
I have felt as though I have watched this one play out in front of me. I have been completely unable to put this book down.
I adore the cover of this book, the colours attract the eye and scream out to be read. I love how unique and original this book is. It has definitely been a book which I would recommend. This for me has been a great read and a definite five star.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this brilliant captivating book

cj lyons knows how to start a book and right for the first page we have a murder but the killer managed to make the scene look as though its a suicide....

now this is book two of a series with the first book high octane...this is a slower pace with more getting to know jericho and and leah the cop and the doc...

so we are back at jericho and leah working together and trying to get their lives on an even keel from where we left them in book one....

there is still murder and mischief to be investigated and when leah is called to a scene to help calm a old man suffering from dementia down, the murder being the wife of the old man and the police not knowing how to deal with the dementia suffer...

but can they figure out what is going on before another body comes to light and could the killer be closer than they think

a well thought out 2nd book in the series and i am liking how the cop and the doc are working more as a team...cant wait to see where this goes...

A really good story which has plenty of suspense and a few twists. This is an emotional read about a serial killer that has caused so much hurt and pain. Leah and Luke are both interesting characters who I enjoy reading about. Emily is a brilliant character. She is feisty and brave and stands up for what she believes to be right.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I was so excited to see Leah and Luka back in Book 2 of Jericho and Wright.

Leah has become a liaison to the police department and Luka and herself set out to solve an elderly woman's murder. All while Leah is still dealing with her and Emily's grief.

Trouble soon follows as they persistently follow leads to see how this murder can be tied to a serial killer with connections to Luka.

I love the connection that Leah and Luka have as they strive to not only solve the two cases but also deal with the everyday aspects of being a single parent.

CJ Lyons throws some good twists and turns the readers way. I was suspicious of a few people.

The pages turned themselves.

I am excited for Book 3 , I will be first in line .

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to follow Jericho and Wright in another adventure.

As a continuation of the series, this book resumes where the last left off, Luka is a police detective who has recently taken custody of his nephew, Nate. Leah and her daughter Emily are living with Leah's mother Ruby, and starting the long process of learning to live without Leah's husband Ian, who was murdered in the first book.

Leah is now working as a medical liaison to the police department, and a case brings Leah and Luka back in contact to solve the murder of an elderly woman, Trudy. Many seeds are planted throughout the story, leading the reader in one direction to the next to find the killer, but I figured it out about mid-way through. No offense meant to the writer, I enjoy Ms. Lyons' books and will continue to read them.

This was a fast-paced mystery, clean and no romance (yet) between the lead characters. I'm hoping that as this series continues to move forward this might be a possibility, the foundation has been set, their families mesh well, I guess we'll see.

Thanks to the author, NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Oh.My.Gosh.
I’m already excited to read the next book in the series!
This was such a intricate, intriguing and suspenseful story! The twists and turns kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. Definitely a “could not put down” book!
The Drowned Woman is the second book in the Jericho and Wright series. You can read this as a stand alone though I recommend reading The Next Widow so you have the back story about Leah and Luka. And, what a backstory it is!
Thank you to NetGallery, Bookouture and author, CJ Lyons, for the opportunity to read the Arc of The Drowned Woman for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Luka's wife drowned - was it suicide or murder?
Leah's husband is murdered -
Both Leah and Luka are assisting the murder of a wife - thought to be by the husband - really?
Is this all connected?

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of The Drowned Woman, the second novel to feature Detective Sergeant Luka Jericho and Crisis Management Doctor Leah Wright, set in the fictional Pennsylvanian town of Cambria City.

Leah, in her new role, gets a call from Luka to come and settle a distraught husband whose wife has just died after a tumble over a banister. He thinks something isn’t quite right about the scenario but it’s only when Leah talks to the neighbour, former investigative journalist Risa Sabira, that they get the idea that there might be a serial killer on the loose, one that claims to have killed Luka’s fiancée 17 years ago.

I enjoyed The Drowned Woman which is an eventful novel told at a brisk pace. There is little time to get bored with so many angles to consider. It is not, however, complicated with everything laid out clearly and concisely. Perhaps too much as I guessed the main components early on. I said it about the last novel and I’ll say it again. The author has her detectives fixate on one suspect and try to get the facts to fit, leaving the path wide open for readers to speculate, because, you know, it’s fiction. Otherwise it’s an interesting read as the detail still has the power to surprise.

I like the characters of Luka and Leah. Both carry a lot of grief and sorrow, perhaps even guilt but are determined to keep living. Perhaps now that their pasts have been explored and examined they can forge ahead together, something that is hinted at but never explicitly stated.

The Drowned Woman is a good read that I can recommend.

I enjoyed reading The Drowned Woman by CJ Lyons which is the second book in her Jerico and Wright series. This is an excellent thriller. The author leads her readers on an exciting mystery trip. I liked the two main characters, Dr. Leah Wright and Detective-Sergeant Luka Jerico. They work well together to solve the case. They met in the first book in the series, The Next Widow. I can't wait to see what they have to face in the next book.

Are you ready to dive into this book? I certainly was, because I totally loved the first one of the series. So, ready, steady, go!
Luka as well as Leah are damaged souls. They both are still struggling with dramatic events from their past, but they never hesitate to put their pain aside and jump in to help other people.
Miss Ruby and Emily are birds of a feather without the slightest doubt. Although the sassiness seemed to have skipped a generation, I have the feeling that Emily received a double dose. LOL. You have to love them both. They know what they want and go for it. They know who and what they love and protect them with everything they have got. Both also went through a lot already and that’s maybe what has turned them into the personalities they are now.
A great story based on a disturbed mind with all its consequences. How one sentence can hurt, but will be shrugged off by most people, it will totally make others go crazy… 5 stars.

Thank you, CJ Lyons and Bookouture

Starts with a slow burn ... finishes with a bon fire!
This was a great read. I enjoyed the first book immensely and was pleased to see the same well written characters were all back. This book started a bit slower than the first one so I was a little worried at first but it ramped right up and finished strong. Suspenseful and twists and turns throughout. I found the “actor” to be someone slightly predictable and it played out a little implausible as the police would have been all over this perp from the start. But it was still extremely well down and I look forward to the next instalment!

Leah is still mourning the loss of her husband. A doctor, she has taken a job working with the police force to enable her to spend more time with her daughter. Luka, a detective sergeant, is still grieving over his loss. The two team up to find a serial killer. This was a great story of collaboration!!! Really enjoyed it!
