This is a really good read which has plenty mystery and twists to keep the reader interested. It is the second book in the Jericho and Wright series but can be read as a stand alone. I loved the developing friendship between the children as much as the plot of the story. This is an interesting mix of crime thriller and medical procedural. Although I worked out the killer early on, it did not detract from my enjoyment of the book. I hope there is a lot more to come in this series. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

The Drowned Woman is the second book featuring Jericho and Wright, but you certainly don't need to have read the first to pick this one up, as I haven't and even after a slow start I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks to plenty of twists, a great duo in Detective Sergeant Jericho and Dr Wright, and a second half that I simply couldn't put down.

However, I did figure out early on who the serial killer dubbed, “Chaos” was. Yet, that didn't stop me enjoying the ride this story took me on or appreciating the red herrings along the way, which I'll be honest at one point did have me second guessing.

And I would happily recommend The Drowned Woman to others and will certainly be looking out for more from Jericho and Wright in the future.

This being the second book in a series I was hoping it wouldn't matter that I haven't read the first one and it definitely didn't. Probably the investment in the characters would come a bit quicker if I had the background information instead of wondering about the events in the first book since they are alluded to a lot and form a framework for the state of mind of the main characters. Leah Wright is now a consultant for the police after the murder on her husband and working closely with Luka Jericho who lost his sister and is now responsible for his nephew Nate.
This book has a good foundation in the crime/mystery storyline I enjoyed a lot but what makes it just that bit better are the very well drawn main characters and the role of the kids who form a close relationship. They are not just there for filling the story, but have solid plotlines interwoven in the main plot about a serial killer on the loose who might have a link to the death of Luka's fiancee 17 years ago.
Everything fits together nicely and this turned out to be a book that is hard to put down and kept me reading a bit longer than I maybe should have.

A great plot, covering love, death, courage, deceit and so much more. Interesting characters with great dialogue and a suspenseful storyline made it hard to set the book down. I am enjoying this series, and eagerly wait for the next book. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a well written mystery.

Wow CJ Lyons has done it again! The second installment of the Wright/ Jericho series is even better than the first. It had me gripped from the first page and I devoured it. I cannot wait for the next book.

The woman living across from the victim has been getting e mails from someone claiming to have murdered multiple people. Is the person behind the e mails telling the truth or playing a game, a deadly game. This book was filled with twists and turns. I started to suspect who the villain was but wasn’t sure until the very end. This book will keep you turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next. When Luka's newest case has him consult with Leah, the duo get drawn into a vile serial killer that has been tormenting an ill journalist. Twisted and unexpected, the story draws the reader in for a page turning story that demands to be read from start to finish in one sitting. Luka and Leah are characters that will always leave this reader coming back for more and the bad guys always give you chills. This is what a thriller should be! The tension is high and I found myself holding my breath a couple of times. The characters are great and I like the way they are slowly developing. Luka is intriguing and has a lot of depth we have barely tapped into. Leah is complicated. I really enjoyed seeing her handle her new role of doctor working with the police. It touches nicely on a real world need. Of course, Emily and Nate give an added bonus to the book. Their friendship is heartwarming. There were instances I wanted to hug Ruby and others I wanted to slap her. This author has a knack for creating characters that make you feel.
The mystery is action packed and full of suspense. There are several sidelines that keep you guessing and wondering who is telling the truth. I didn't figure it out until right before the reveal and it's a doozey!
This series is just getting going and I can't wait for more.

This is the second book in the Jericho and Wright series by CJ Lyons. I love this book as much as the first one. It reeled me in from the first chapter and didn’t let go till the end. All the main characters were so well written and the suspense kept me guessing till the end. This is the second book in this series and I really enjoyed both books. Lots of twists and turns and I was not really sure of who did it till close to the end of the story. I love how the children were a main part of the story and loved watching the family relationships grow

They are involved in the case of a senior woman who may or may not have been pushed over her third-story railing. Quickly, the case develops and becomes more complex as more people are dying... and they're all somewhat related. It's interesting how Leah balances her new career in law enforcement (when she previously was an ER physician) with her home life. I did not read book 1 of this Series, but you don't need to as the author fills in the background and then goes full throttle to a fantastic ending.

An investigation into a suspicious death turns into a search for a serial killer. Leah, still dealing with the recent murder of her husband, welcomes the distraction of the investigation but when the killer claims responsibility for the drowning death of Luka's fiancee years ago the danger hits close to home.

There is more character development with the friendship between Luka's nephew Nate, who recently lost his mother and Leah's daughter Emily. I found this a refreshing change from most crime thrillers where children exist on the periphery. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
