Trying to be an unapologetic woman, I'll not be saying sorry for being late with this review. This is one of the many things The Shift taught me. It is a bloody marvelous book, we need books like The Shift. While reading I made All. Those. Highlights. But let me get straight to the point.

Being a chronic with ME well over 17 years, I've had my fair share of shite with people being annoyed or unhappy for me being ill for their sake not for mine. Leaving me feeling useless and to blame for my own lack of health. As if this didn't just came crashing down on me unexpectedly. I'm sorry – not sorry – for my illness being inconvenient to others.

I wish it were otherwise, but it isn't and it won't be for a while seeing how Western society treats women.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

After reading Sam Baker's book I feel like I can take on the world and menopause, and I am even looking forward to it. Now I won't be thinking 'what is wrong with me?' but rather how do I look after myself and what is going to work for me. This book is a call to action - to take your anger, sweats, body, resentment, joys and wants seriously. Bring it on!
