More Than We Bargained For by Fiona West is the fourth book in the Timer Falls series. We see two main characters Starla Moore and Sawyer Devereaux. The story is about finding yourself after a divorce, love and much more.

Starla Moore is a single mom and recently divorced. She is temporary staying with her friend but is looking for a new place to stay since her friend Ainsley is moving out. She works at a library and is usually late for work due to single handedly handling her two kids - Emily and Aiden.

In this romantic comedy we get alot of country side vibes from both the characters, their flawless equally feel real to me. Both of them match just like a perfect puzzle piece. Sawyer is suffering from MS and Starla is pregnant with the baby of her ex-husband, both of them go through this difficult journey together.

This is a very cute yet heartwarming story where we don't see any sex scenes as well as is a very well narrated story. It's perfect in all terms, where we see a small town, meddling into eachother's business, town hall meetings, etc. Sawyer Devereaux is a gentleman and an angel. I also loved the concept of library and book fairies in this book

I would love for someone to be my book fairy and send me a box full of books literally every month 😂 here even the kids felt so real, rather than being a brat or a obedient ones. They were both, sweet and naughty at the same time. It was a joyful read.

Thank You to NetGalley and Publisher 'Tempest & Kite' for eARC in exchange for a honest opinion.

eARC received from Netgalley.

This was the first book I've read of the series, but you definitely do not need to read the other books to grasp this one. It explores themes of overcoming hardships, opening oneself up to new and terrifying experiences, complicated family dynamics, divorce, the lovely concepts of small towns coming together, and it's basically the softest comfort read for any romance book enthusiast or book lover. You can't help but fall for the two main characters, their love for each other is so pure and they work well to support one another. The writing is clever and amusing. The banter is natural and the heaviest scenes are dealt with care and the resolution.

Thank you NetGalley, Tempest and Kite Publishing, and Fiona West for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. More Than We Bargained For is the fourth book of the Timber Falls romantic comedy series; however, not reading any of the previous books in the series, I felt fine reading this as a standalone.

Starla Moore finds herself in the middle of the divorce and, at first, romance is the farthest thing from her mind. Until Sawyer begins to catch her eye. He is handsome and witty, and makes anonymous book donations - what isn't to love? Although both characters at first deny their feelings for each other, their trade of house for driving seems to just make things start to fit together. But as rumors begin to swirl, trouble may begin to brew for these two wholesome characters.

I found this book a little slow in the beginning, but found myself really rooting for the two main characters as the story went on. I totally recommend this book and hope to be able to read the other books in this series soon!

More Than We Bargained For by Fiona West is a great read! I loved how both protagonists were involved with books. One was a librarian and the other donated books to the librarian just to make her day. Swoon worthy moment there. Any man both fictional or real that does that for a woman is a keeper. I really enjoyed their moments together. Rooted the whole way for each of them. Sawyer was a very likable hero. The heroine was great except for the fact that she let her cheating , charm-talking ex-husband to land her in a real spot. Divorce on the horizon and a surprise the heroine wasn't expecting to have. Then again, I felt like well, that's what she gets for being so easily led by his charms. Why couldn't she sway that easily with Sawyer? A tad bit frustrating. However, the rest of this book was amazing. the dialogue was fun to follow. The characters kept me entertained. The story was written in a way that pulled me into the book. Once I began, the more I wanted to know. Overall, this romantic comedy was a good read.

More Than We Bargained For is the fourth book in the Timber Falls series. I must admit I’m still getting used to the newer Contemporary book covers and I’ve never read anything by this author, so this book didn’t catch my eye at first. After reading the blurb my interest was caught and I thought I’d give it a try. By the end of chapter one, I was hooked. Small town, a bookworm librarian, a handsome mountain hermit, and a mystery book fairy? How could I not be? I fell in love with the series and must admit I went on a series binge and almost read them all (only stopping to write the reviews 😊). The books can be read as standalone but once you start reading one of them, you will want to read them all. Timber Falls is a small town with all the small-town gossip, busybodies, and warm, loving families. I adore small-town series and this book was a reminder of why. It was attention-grabbing, fast-paced, and full of witty humor. I fell in love with the town and all the characters and now can’t wait for the next book!
Starla “Star” Moore has finally left Charlie, her cheating husband, and moved in temporarily with her best friend. She needs to find a permanent situation but with two kids and another on the way her finances are tight. Charlie and her parents keep pressuring her to return but she’s determined to begin a new life without his and his lies. She loves her job as the town librarian but the mystery of a box of books being delivered weekly is driving her crazy and all the town gossip has made her think moving away would be less painful.
Sawyer Devereaux was a successful surgeon until he was diagnosed with MS and must give it up. He returns to Timber Falls and only wants to live quietly in his cabin without his family constantly worrying about him. He goes into Timber Falls every Thursday to pick up books and see Star, the librarian he has always had a crush on. When he must give up driving due to his illness and hears Star needs a place to live, he has the perfect solution. She can live in his family’s lodge rent-free and help him when he needs to be driven somewhere. He refuses to act upon his secret crush because he fears he will become a burden when his health starts to deteriorate. But life doesn’t always go as planned and love grows between the two of them.

When I saw the title I thought the novel would be funny & cute. Although the novel was cute but it was not funny. The story revolves around two heartbroken people who somehow amend their soul by finding comfort in each other. But still story could have been more cute & romantic.

I liked some of its part like when Sawyer took all responsibility for Starla. He also surprise her with cute little surprises & so on.

Its a good read but not so good.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Fiona West for the kind copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am in love with this book.

I love it when the characters are real people, not just the illusion of what the perfect relationship would be. Sawyer and Starla are two real people with real problems, which made the situations and outcomes throughout the book so vivid in my head.

I loved how Sawyer was always so respectful for Starla's needs, never pushing himself to her or her family and always putting his wishes below her responsibilities. He is definitely a standard I can put for myself, not because he was perfect and charming ─as most heros─ but because he was a good man. A broken, ill and imperfect good man with a good heart.

I cannot express how amazing mama Starla was. I could see my own mother in her, sacrificing so much for her children and trying so hard to give them everything they needed to be OK. She acknowledge and owned her mistakes like a mature adult and pushed through the last page to be the mom she needed to be, no matter if her heart was at risk.

The happy ending had me in tears. They both earned it and deserved redemption and a second chance in life. I haven't read the rest of this series and I'm sure it will be just as good.

The book started off a little slow in my opinion but overall I really enjoyed reading the last installment in this standalone series. It has been fun seeing how people found love in this town and how characters built their relationship regardless other factors. I don’t usually read romance with a single parent as the main character but Starla and Sawyer were a cute couple who I had fun reading about.

Starla ended her marriage and is now homeless. She is pressured to come home but she has had enough. The story is great with good characters. There is emotion, anger and love. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to romance readers. I received it as an ARC but my opinion is my ow

This book was exactly what I needed. I normally don't read this genre, but I needed a fluffy happy book and this didn't disappoint. It is full of fun characters and great banter. There was nothing life changing about the book, but all the same I really enjoyed it.

Fiona West’s new book had the makings of a book I’d gladly voraciously gobble up. Single mom, cheating ex, broody handsome neighbor. SIGN ME UP (hence how I ended up with an ARC).

By my review’s opening, you can guess things didn’t go as planned…

There was a note from the author that the ARC I received was an unfinished edition, so keep that in mind as I continue. And I haven’t read the final version because I plain wasn’t interested.

Here’s the basics: Starla is divorcing her husband while pregnant with their third child and town recluse Sawyer offers her a place to stay in exchange for driving him to medical appointments. Badda bing badda boom, romance.

I don’t know where it happened, maybe in the convoluted book fairy plot or the wishy-washy ex-husband behavior, but the rhythm of this book just pulled me out. Starla and Sawyer’s romance is sweet and clean because there are NO bedroom scenes, however, the book dragged out the happily ever after waaay too long for my tastes.

More Than We Bargained For is the fourth book in the Timber Falls series which I haven’t read. It was clear that other characters from the series popped up so drop truth bombs and provide funny moments as secondary characters do. I imagine for readers of the series that was a fun treat that completely went over my head.

My final conclusion is that I was not the intended audience for this book, so no wonder it was a struggle to finish. So if you are a fan of Fiona West, clean romance, and Pacific Northwest settings this book is for you!

When I found out it was part of a series I wasn't sure if I needed to have read the other volumes, however when i found out it wasn't needed to understand the book I was glad.

What I liked:
I liked how nothing felt rushed, The pacing felt great. I very much liked the romance and the portray of struggle and over coming it. I realized after reading the book that the series is build on following two people story's in each book. I love series like this because it gives the opportunity to get to meet all the characters, and seeing there progression through different peoples eyes later on. So I might have to check out the other volumes at some point.

What I didn't like/ Would have wished for:
I would have liked some more input on how the children were dealing with the situation, it felt a little pushed a side. I would have loved to just see a bit more of parent - child interaction with some focus on how the children are doing. Oh and I would have loved to know if he read the book she recommended him and if he liked it!

A huge thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for letting me read this lovely book.

My rating system:
5 Stars: If I couldn't put a book down and highly enjoyed it. In addition, if it made me think and reflect it's a huge plus.
4 Stars: I very much liked it it gave me feels, and I would definitely reread. However enjoyed it a
little less then a 5 Star book.
3 Stars: It was a nice read I liked it but it doesn't make me feel as invested/ involved as a 4 star book.
2 Stars: It was alright but maybe not my cup of tea.
1 Star: I must have hated it.

I am now a fan of this author. I read the first book and was hooked on this town and everything in it. Must read and get you sucked in. Really enjoyed this book and story

Fantastic read! Really zones in on what some go through when living with MS, this book wasn't at all what I expected and in all honesty the last few chapters had me sobbing to the point my boyfriend had to ask if I was okay! Safe to say it pulled at my heartstrings! Lovely book, didn't want to put it down!

This book has everything a RomCom reader might want to find.
.
A small town where its neighbors are always part of all the stories in it, a beautiful library, mountains, forest, and two protagonists who are extremely lovable.
.
On one hand we have Starla the town librarian, a Star Wars fanatic, bookworm who is trying to get on her feet after a difficult divorce, with two young children and another on the way; and on the other side is Sawyer, a former doctor, mechanic who lives on the outskirts of town where he has tried to stay away since he received his MS diagnosis. It is impossible not to love Sawyer over all the characters in the book, over the good dialogues and his warm personality, his terrible in love with Starla and secretly sends her a box of donations with new books every week, how is he not the ideal character?
.
You can know what is going to happen between the characters just by reading the synopsis but how they get to that point seemed perfect. Just perfect. It is perfectly structured and every step the characters take towards them feels smooth and correct, something that does not usually happen in all the RomCom.
.
I must warn that this is book number four in a Small Town series, and that each character is totally lovable, you will probably end up looking for the entire series after reading a single book (which is probably what I am going to do) even though it is a standalone, and it is not necessary to read them all or respect an order
.
Thanks to #NetGalley and Tempest and Kite Publishing for give me the chance to read #MoreThanWeBargainedFor and for trusting me to give an honest review. Really appreciate the book and enjoy reading it

I love this book because, not only the main characters are highlighted in this book, the secondary characters are so lovable just like the rest. I don’t really have much to say but overall, I enjoy it. The characters, the story—everything is amazing.

More Than We Bargained For is a unique and refreshing romance that shows two people falling in love amidst real life messiness.

Starla is the town librarian who is in the middle of a divorce, trying to figure out her new life as a single mom. Sawyer is quiet and reserved, never letting himself get too close to anyone due to fears about his chronic illness.

Single parent romances can be hit or miss for me because, even if your ex didn’t treat you well (like Starla’s ex, Charlie) they are still entitled to be actively involved in their children’s lives. I am not a fan of “I’m mad about how our relationship ended so now you don’t get to see your kids” attitude; either in real life or books.

I commend Starla for bettering her life and not settling, however I was frustrated with some of her choices (re: the kids). That being said, I ultimately did enjoy her character arc and growth throughout the story.

Sawyer is a GEM; I absolutely loved everything about him. I also loved his personal growth and learning to love himself and let others in.

Starla and Sawyer together were adorable and heartwarming. I loved the small town setting and side characters. This is the 4th in the Timber Falls series and I will definitely be checking out the other books!

Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review.

I adored this book and read it in one sitting.

I loved both main characters (Starla and Sawyer) so much. Sawyer is an actual sweetheart and has a disability (MS), he is also a Doctor and a motorcycle enthusiast with a heart of gold. Starla is a mother of two who is going through a divorce and is a librarian who hates mysteries but the biggest mystery of all is the Book Fairy who has been dropping off brand new books every Wednesday.

The book has such a warm feeling about it with its small-town vibes with how close everyone is.

Rating: 5⭐
Would I Read It Again? Yes, the other books in this series have been purchased on my kindle so I can read them asap

ℝ𝕖𝕧𝕚𝕖𝕨 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💫 More Than We Bargained For by Fiona West

Staria loathes mysteries, and Sawyer Devereaux is a the biggest one of them all. Like clockwork every Thursdays he comes into the library, refuses to take her book recommendations, rarely talks to anyone. In the midst of a divorce her only romantic gateways are of the fictional kinds. After a last night with her husband on a lonesome night, some unexpected consequences disturbs her plans for the future of her family.
Saywer wakes up in the lap of his beautiful librarian, before this he thought his health problems were behind him, at least for a little while. Without a driving license he won't be able to travel around town anymore, get groceries, visit the library, or donate his anonymous book donation. After learning that Staria is in need of some financial help, he proposes a deal she can't refuse: Housing for her driving. He can keep his feelings in check until he can regain his license right? But, Small towns are also know for big rumour mills. Will they drive their love out of town or will they be able to face it together?

Closed-Door adult romance. This book was fantastic. I loved how MS was represented. Sometimes in books, disabilities or illnesses are only represented on their best days, or they glamorize the worst days. This one was "as far as I know" a fair representation of what it is on a day-to-day basis to live with MS. And I loved that there was no miracle solution at the end. I loved how in their journey of falling for each other they also had to learn themselves in the process. Both the characters were so endearing, we can't help but fall for them too. After finishing the book I noticed it is part of a series! I will definitely be picking them up soon!

Thank you to @netgalley , Tempest and Kite Publishing and @fionawestauthor for the Free e-copy to review! As always all thoughts are honest and my own.

This was an adorable romance! If you like a closed-door slow burn romance, then this is the read for you. I appreciate that the author allowed both characters to remain their own persons and have their own individual passions/goals. The characters came together as a couple but still had their individuality. I especially love that we have librarian representation!
I really appreciate the idea of a book fairy and honestly, that was wonderful to show courtship. I also appreciate that we have a man that showcases all his emotions and is not afraid to cry.
Now I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars because as much as I enjoyed it there were some ‘issues’ that were resolved too quickly. This definitely wraps up things a little too quickly for my tastes, but I did love almost everything else about it. The writing style was lovely and the author knows how to weave a beautiful love story! I definitely recommend this if you want an adorable quick read romance.
