When I saw this one pop up I just had to give it a read since I had enjoyed the previous installment where Gudetama hilariously gave love advice, while also trying to catch up on his napping. This one was very similar in that this time he was giving people holiday advice, ranging from how to make the holidays great for others to new year's resolutions and more. There's a lot of good sentiments and of course some of the storylines are hilarious as well as heartwarming. Though Gudetama just seems lazy and like he wants to nap, he still takes time to help the people who ask him to, even if it is just a few words of advice.

Super cute graphic novel with our favorite lazy egg, Gudetama. It was inclusive in that it didn’t just focus on Christmas so props for that. The graphic novel is made of of different stories all with nice feel good messages. A nice quick read and I recommend it for my fellow Sanrio friends out there. Thank you OniPress for the free arc..

This was honestly a wholesome quick read of comics. I loved the design and vibrancy as it had a playfulness vibe to it. The comics were cute and although the organization could've been better (splitting the one story arc into three parts not directly), I think it's a cute read for reminding ourselves what the meaning of the holiday season is through reflection and sharing quality time with family.

This was quick to read, but very enjoyable. The illustrations are bright and clean, and the advice from lazy Gudetama is funny while also being practical. A cute book.

Thank you Net Galley & Oni Press for providing me with an eArc in exchange for an honest review! 💛

This was such a cute read!! As Gudetama's my fave Sanrio character, I just had to give this a read! We basically follow his adventures as he helps different characters with their holiday related problems like gift buying & receiving unwanted gifts 🙈 The art style is so cute and so vibrant! I feel like I would've enjoyed this more if I read it in December but this just gave me so much Christmas feels, I can't help but love it all the way! 🎄
This comes out November 3!

This is an absolutely adorable little graphic novel following people through one of the happiest and most stressful time--the end of year holidays from Thanksgiving through New Years. Gudetama acts as an advice columnist and gives people advice on how to handle many common holiday situations from buying gifts for coworkers to handling family members. The pictures make it attractive for kids of all ages, but any adult can related to the little vignettes presented.

I’m sure many people will enjoy this book, but I didn’t particularly enjoy the humour of the comics.

Gudetama the lazy egg brings his unique brand of help to the festive period.

This was a cutesy, quick and colourful read and just perfect for Sanrio fans. I love the style of Gudetama and the panels are all a riot of colour. I think it will be popular with Teens.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy.

This is just what I needed! In <Gudetama: Surviving the Holidays>, the beloved melancholy egg yolk gives advice to people during the holidays. I found myself wishing I, too, could yell, "HELP, GUDETAMA!".

To all those who need a warm respite from the pandemic and everything that plagues us today, I recommend this graphic novel!

Gudetama: Surviving the Holidays was a cute, quick read. It was a lot of fun but it didn't really feel like anything special to me. I did enjoy reading it but I wouldn't go back to it unfortunately. This is my first experience with the character of Gudetama, I enjoyed the character, they were very wholesome and relatable and this whole comic was wholesome, cute and inclusive but I wasn't overly hooked on it.

Gudetama: Surviving the Holidays is a graphic novel that expresses the most wonderful time, or exhausting time in Gudetama's case, of the year. I find this to be a quick and heartwarming read with the great advice it offers. It is full of hilarious and appealing illustrations about Gudetama's tips and tricks on how to overcome the holiday burnout. What I appreciate is the simplicity of the colorful and unique art style. They blend in quite nicely with the scenarios Gudetama goes through when solving problems. The dialogue in each panel is direct and straightforward, making the scenarios easy to understand and has me turning page after page.

I believe the audience for this graphic novel is for everyone to enjoy, more on a focus for teens and adults. I would definitely pick up this book to read and display on the bookshelves for the holiday season..

A lazy egg interacts with somewhat sick-looking purple, yellow, green and blue people and they're trying to solve holiday season problems.

This is a quick, somewhat uneven reading experience. Some of the comics are funny, some are quite absurd and surreal, and yet others are a bit bland and boring. A couple of the stories actually have a piece of real wisdom embedded in there. My favorite was the egg saying; "Maybe this year, set a goal that isn't too big, and be specific. Something that isn't necessarily easy, but attainable... and, more personal to you. Nothing that measures yourself against others."

I read a digital PDF copy from Netgalley and it took me a little while to work out that some of the speech bubbles are cut in half because it's a two page strip that continues on the next page of the spread. I was not tech savvy enough to figure out how to view both pages side by side in my PDF reader. In case you happen to have similar limitations you might appreciate this book better as a paper copy.

I quite liked this comic. I really like Gudetama so I thought I would give this comic a try since it features him. It was very fun however it lacked depth, because yes even these kind of comics do have some kind of depth.
The comic is very witty and fun to read and you fly through it due to the language used. I think it's a very good factor of the comic.

The style is very Gudetama style based so to say. They all fit in with him and everything is used in a way that it accentuates Gudetama in a way which I think is good.

I would recommend this one to someone who is looking for an airy read so to say.

This book has great illustrations and color schemes. Gudetama is so cute and squishy. The only thing I didn't like is there's too much text in most of the panels and is too crowded to look at sometimes.

That lovable lazy egg and worldwide hit Sanrio character and animated series star, Gudetama is back at it again.
We all know the stress that can be involved with the holidays and this beautifully illustrated graphic novel in full color pages has that lazy egg telling us not to stress, giving useful advice and saying basically just take it easy over the holidays.
Sounds like good advice to me.

Dealing with the holidays is always tough, but luckily for us Gudetama is here to help! A fun and hilarious book filled with some sound advice for all the situations that could happen during the holidays! The artwork is just so charming and the advice is really good! I think this makes a great book for anyone!

This graphic novel is a collection of short stories where Gudetama helps people solve their holiday woes. At first, I was not a big fan of the simple and cartoonish art style. However, the more stories I read, the more I felt the art style complimented the funny, wholesome content. I honestly enjoyed this way more than I was expecting! The stories are so cute and fun, it put me in a good mood. I think this would be an even better read in December since most of the stories deal with Christmas and New Year's Day. Overall, I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a light-hearted read to put you in a holiday mood. 4-stars for me!

This was my first Gudetama read, as I get into graphic novels, I am looking for the stories that work for me.  I was attracted to Gudetama's sardonic practicality. He is quite kind in that he helps all his friends who seem to be in the craziest situations. There were a few chuckles throughout but not really the laugh out loud I was hoping for. Some of the story ideas were pretty common ones (situations in friendship, work and family) and the art was just ok.

Review to come November 3rd on blog/goodreads.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I just couldn't resist again. Gudetama is such a cute character and I just want to read stories with him in the main role. Though I did fear the repetition that the other book I read with this character, and I was right to fear as it was quite repetitive again.

It is just mostly Gudetama giving advice to people about all sorts of things in his Gudetama way. Sometimes enthusiastic, sometimes he is just tired of it all. I did love that people went to him for advice though and I was looking forward to seeing what Gudetama would say. But it did get a bit repetitive. It was just like I was reading an advice book. There was one story that ran through the whole book and I loved that one as it was a story. Something with more bones and more life.

All these stories take place during the holidays. New Years, Christmas, and others. It is a bit too soon for me for Christmas, come back in November, but I did love the theme. I love seeing all the Christmas things, and all the other holidays pop up. Now I am even more hyped for Christmas.

What I would have liked and why I rated this one a bit lower is that there is nothing that shows that we are on the next advice field. At times I had to re-read parts as I was confused why there was a new character. What would have been nice if there was a header or a small part on the left before the story starts that indicates the newest advice.

I did love the art. Gudetama is adorable, but the other people and backgrounds are just done really well. I like the style!

I am not sure if I will read another Gudetama book though. I love the character, I love the art, but the repetition and constant advice giving and not much else is just meh.
