In Smiling in Hardships, the author embarks us on his journey, the one of a young, brave and ambitious Cameroonian student building a France-based company. The epiphany occured after he was struck by a lack of support from the moment he arrived in France to study as an international student. A blatant experience many foreigners and international students face every academic year.

Prompted to adapt to his brand new life and changing environment, he thinks outside the box: How could he turn his unfortunate experience into an opportunity? There was born the ideation process leading him to forge a plan, build a team to conquer the world. The path to a certain success many would agree.

Yet, the author builds upon his personal and professional experiences of setbacks and startup failure telling individuals and fellow entrepreneurs that I am on the right journey and path: the one that makes full sense to me and the world, encouraging me to persevere despite our struggles, shifting my mindset seizing every opportunities lying in everyday hurdles through a myriad of self-driven reflexion, hindsights and testimonials.

As a Black entrepreneur in France, I love this book because the author represents perfectly what it means to be a black entrepreneur in France. Smiling in Hardships is the book you were awaiting for, the untold truth about venture building and wealth creation journey as experienced by many yet never covered to the fullest details.
