I did not enjoy this book for the most part, though the last 25% redeemed the story a bit. It centers on Emily, married to local doctor Jake and working as the practice manager at his practice. They have 2 teenagers and a seemingly happy life. We know going in that Emily is harboring some kind of secret and there is also a side-story related to Emily's relationship with her deceased twin sister. Emily gets an email that Jake is cheating on her and all hell breaks loose. Others in their small town also start getting notifications about secrets they were trying to keep, and it seems clear that the only people who would have known these things are in Jake's medical practice.

This all sounds very interesting, and could have been, but the first 3/4 of the book were spent with Emily freaking out about Jake cheating on her, despite the fact that they have been married for almost 20 years and she has no reason to believe this, other than the random email she received. She is insecure, paranoid, and just downright annoying during this part of the book, which distracted me from the rest of the story.

The last quarter of the book is where everything happens, and it's very good. There is a big twist that I definitely did not see coming, and Emily puts her constant whining on hold to work with Jake in order to get to the bottom of the various truths that are revealed over this period of time. I liked this part of the book and thought the ending was strong.

Overall, this really wasn't the book for me because of my dislike of Emily, but I think readers who can better connect with her will enjoy it more. I give it 2.5 stars, rounding up to 3 for the last quarter of the book. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

HOLD YOUR HORSES!! START THE DRUMROLL!! There is a new mischief monger in town, and she ain’t stopping. Spoiler alert. I am revealing the major twist in this story. It was none other than author Sheryl Browne, who took wicked pleasure in putting all her characters in a twist. She was evil. Beware!!

I love nothing more than great gossip, the best way to distract my stressed mind, and Sheryl gave me that in spades. The story was about a husband-wife duo who worked at the local practice where Jake was the practicing doctor, called out for medical emergencies and Emily, the practice manager, who was conscientious about data protection. You see, everyone’s medical secrets was locked in the tiny computer at the reception.

Emily got a mail about Jake’s extracurricular activities, soon others in town started getting the ‘informative’ cards. Life as the small town knew it got disrupted, and fingers were pointed. To Emily.

Now we all knew that Sheryl was the real prankster who worked in the shadows, but she had already thought out her escape route. My mind pondered. Whom would the author have thrown under the bus to cast all suspicion off her?

The book began with a loud bang where Emily kept doubting Jake’s fidelity, based on an email, and with many others on the same rampage run, my mind zinged furiously as to who could be the perp.

Emily too had many secrets hidden about the death of her twin years ago. I would have thought the town was a peaceful and quiet place with happy people. Who knew that there was bitterness festering underground?!

The lack of communication between husband and wife frustrated me completely. I hated Emily and her accusations which came in every other page. Reasons came to light much later on.

The story read superfast; I swear the morning just flew with my fingers tapping the kindle screen. There was nothing more wonderful that reading about those hidden truths, though they did have many far-reaching consequences.

But never fear, Sheryl kept all her characters on a firm leash. In fact, she yanked all their chains, especially in the last few chapters. The poor things didn’t know the heart that was writing the story had no mercy. Evil was all that flowed from the ink of this thriller.

By the end of the read, I couldn’t comment about about the characters, but I was overwrought. Even the epilogue had me scrutinizing it with suspicion. Never had I read the book where every single person had a secret. Whew… I need a cozy read next…

The plot of Trust Me, by Sheryl Browne, was brilliant and kept me guessing right up until the end. Sheryl Browne did an incredible job writing about the emotionally charged intensity between the characters and flawlessly describing the events. The ending was quite shocking and unexpected too. Overall it wasn’t for me though.

Jake and his father, Tom, are both doctors and work together. Their relationship has been strained ever since Jake was a teenager. Although Emily, Jake’s wife, doesn’t particularly like Tom, she does hope that their relationship will improve over time. Emily enjoys working with Jake, and they are viewed as the golden couple and highly respected. All of that changes though when she reads an email that was sent to him that suggests he may be having an affair. When a heated conversation at work between Emily and Jake becomes too intense, their problems aren’t so private anymore. All the while confidential patient records are being leaked and letters are being sent to others, and the results of both are disasterous. Emily and Jake are both suspicious of one another...and they both have reason to be! The ending will blow you away!

Thank you Sheryl Browne, Bookouture, and Netgalley for allowing me to read Trust Me. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.

An amazing, gripping psychological thriller. So many secrets and twists. It kept me guessing, I didn't know who to trust. This is my first by this author but certainly won't be the last.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve read most of Sheryl Browne’s previous psychological novels and enjoyed them immensely. The issue with this one is Emily, the main character. I love a really despicable narrator as much as I love a flawed but redeemed narrator. Emily is neither and that’s a shame. While there are lots of secret hoarding supporting players here the heart of the novel was muddled for me. Wishing for the next one to get back on track.

Finding a letter that states your husband is sleeping with one of your friends...

How would you even handle that?

I really enjoyed reading this! I am always a sucker for a good drama, and thankfully this book delivered.

This another great book by Sheryl Browne. I’ve enjoyed all of her other books and this one again didn’t disappoint.
I was kept intrigued and engaged throughout. I’d recommend this book to anyone who likes her other books.

This was such a good read, but I fully expected it to be as I have read some of Sheryl Browne's work before. I chose to read 'Trust Me' because I absolutely adore mysteries and thrillers and I liked the interesting premise. ‘The Affair’ and the ‘The Babysitter’ are both on my e-reader and I will get to them sometime soon..
The story itself was really well done - the pacing was speedy and although there was a myriad of characters, they all had something to offer making them easy to remember. I liked the variable viewpoints used in the storytelling as well as the occasional timeline switches as they helped to intensify the suspense. Sheryl Browne's writing style continued to impress me and I finished 'Trust Me' in a couple of sittings, not wanting to put it down until I was done.
The ending was a surprise to me. and I didn't anticipate final twist. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Bookouture via NetGalley and this review is my unbiased opinion.

There are so many secrets going on in this book, and so many plot twists. I wanted to give this book a higher rating for originality, but the dialogue had me very frustrated. I love him, I hate him, no I forgive him. Forgive him for what?

The characters keep making assumptions about each other with no real proof. Emily gives Jake the cold shoulder for a suspected affair, while holding onto an even worse secret herself. There were so many contradictions throughout the book that I just couldn't settle in and enjoy the plot, as much as I wanted to.

Definitely worth a read but prepare to be a little frustrated in spots.

Does this book have a psychological slant to it? YES. It has suspense and intrigue, suspicion and doubt and all sorts of very dark and deeply hidden secrets. Is this book thrilling? YES. Undoubtedly it is well crafted and extremely tense with injury, murder, accidents and crime, together with the uncertainty about which description accurately fits one of the many incidents to unfold in the book. Is it fast paced? YES. I think this could easily be described as a page turner, although for me, I found the inability of Jake and Emily to ever start or finish a conversation incredibly frustrating. I wanted to scream at the pair of them! It was so divisive, so damaging and so emotionally taut that I actually found it TOO tense in places. Maybe I am highly strung and particularly sensitive to relationships breaking down and people suffering from the emotional fallout, but I felt sick reading again and again just how Jake and Emily were losing their way and accusing each other. Sick to the point of it no longer being enjoyable at times.
I also found the plot a little far fetched in places. The epilogue is rather odd; what on earth happened to Sally? and although I get that Jake was a superbly compassionate GP, I did find the number of life shattering events befalling the residents of the village of Earlslip, where he heroically came to the rescue, somewhat over the top.
The tight knit nature of the community and the way in which gossip and malicious rumours can fracture couples and the community as a whole is though very believable and highly readable. The sense of someone in the midst of generally kindly folk, using medical and personal details against them, is disturbing and extremely unsettling.
I can't say I didn't mostly know what was going on because I did. To me it was reasonably obvious, but there were also parts that genuinely took me by surprise.
The characters are trademark Browne, well drawn, mysterious and there is always more about each one than initially meets the eye. Whether is is serial womaniser and fellow GP, Tom, Jake's father, Fran the surgery cleaner or Edward Simpson, in charge of the annual duck race and all round good guy, these are people you get to know very quickly as if they belong in your own neighbourhood.
I enjoy Sheryl Browne books, I would recommend this one and I wouldn't hesitate to automatically select the next book Browne writes, simply because she is a go-to author I am always interested to read. What I am not sure about is whether this is her best, or my favourite.

Trust Me is another twisty psychological thriller from Sheryl Browne that I read in a day.
Emily and Jake are the perfect couple, Jake is the doctor at the village surgery along with his father, Emily is the manager and up until recently have had a great life. Someone though is managing to access patient records and is using the information to wreak havoc amongst the married couples in the village. Emily finds an email on Jakes computer and presumes he is having an affair, this spirals out of control and she begins to accuse him of being with most women. Home life isn’t any better with their eldest son being moody and stroppy and their sixteen year old daughter spending nights at an unknown boyfriends house they have more than enough on their plates.
This was a great read and was incredibly twisty, so much so that I hadn’t a clue who the culprit could be be or how they were accessing the personal records but all loose ends are tied up neatly and for me every question answered.

Trust Me is the story of Emily and Jake, their 2 children, Ben and Millie, their friends and the village they live in. Jake alongwith his father Tom works at the Doctor's clinic and Emily is the manager there. They have a happy life until an email shakes up the trust between them.
Someone is sending letters to couples exposing their secrets and creating a rift between them. Things only a Dr would know. Is there someone at the Clinic who is doing this? To add to the drama, Emily is highly suspicious of Jake and their marriage seems to be falling apart. Amid all this Emily is battling her own demons from her past as well. Told in the voices of Emily, Jake and a few others, an engaging read by the author.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC

Fans of Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train and anything by Harlan Coben will probably enjoy Trust Me. Multiple points of view and twists left right and centre.

Browne isn't afraid to tackle difficult topics with honesty and compassion. If you enjoy a gossip driven narrative, you'll love this book. The small village setting lends itself really well to this type of story and adds a level of believability to the storyline.

Emily discovers a email that is probably every married persons worst nightmare then the book is relentless from there. Throwing letters of devastation across the village.

'Trust Me' is the last thing you should do when reading this book because just when you think you've cracked it, the plot changes and you're none the wiser again.

This is the first book I've read by Sheryl Browne, but it won't be the last. She's a very talented author - who knows how to keep the reader guessing.

Thank you to @Bookouture and @Netgalley for allowing me to read this advance reader copy.

Someone is stealing drugs from a doctors surgery. Emily is the practice manager at the surgery where her husband and father-in-law also work. Residents in the small village start receiving letters revealing all their secrets, secrets Emily has access too. Emily thinks her husband, Jake, is having an affair. Her son, Ben is always angry and her daughter, Millie is always sneaking off.

There's a going on in this book. The characters are well rounded and believable. Emily was irritating though but I think she's meant to be that way to annoy us all. The story starts off slowly and it seemed to drag out in places. I thought some of the storyline was a bit unbelievable. There's lots of twists to keep, you guessing. I also found part of the epilogue it disappointing.

I would like to thank #NetGalley, #Bookouture and the author #SherylBrowne for my ARC in exchange for an honest review

Emily and Jake seem to have the perfect marriage on the surface but below lurks secrets and lies which threatens to reek havoc to their lives.Jake is the local doctor who everyone trusts and Emily is the practice manager but when people in the close knit village start to get letters accusing them of a number of misdemeanors the focus falls on the practice as someone is accessing the medical records.Throw into the mix that Emily thinks Jake is having an affair and the effect it is having on their kids Ben and Millie and you get a decent thriller but I felt it was a bit repetitive, but with a good ending this is still worth a read.A good 3 star thriller for me.

I was fortunate to receive a copy of this ARC from NetGalley.

Emily and Jake work at the local GP surgery in a seemingly quiet village. But then someone seems to have it in for them and everyone has secrets. It tests Emily and Jake's relationship to the limit, as well as impacting on their children.

I did think the epilogue was unnecessary.

My favourite quote:
"Can I come in now? It's getting a bit lonely out here. In the dog house."

First, I want to thank Sheryl Browne, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Trust Me you must put this book by Sheryl Browne on your TBR Must Read list!!! It is an incredibly fast paced intense read that you-just-can-not-put-down! This is one of Sheryl’s written books that I have read!

Sheryl wants to dedicate Trust Me to Theresa. She wants you to stay safe in the embrace of those who love you. Until we can dance together again.

Some readers may be interested to know there are triggers in the book. Violence and the sensitive subject of Abortion and attempted suicide is brought up. If these offend you or upset you this book may not be for you.

Oh snap what a way to start off a book!!! Jump right smack dab in the middle of some major drama brewing between a couple!! Oh this scene is crazy good and juicy!! Something out of a prime time drama that everyone gossips about on social media the next day! You could just tell from reading that prologue that this was going to be a bestseller!

Sheryl does a little something different with this book and puts a paranormal twist on the book. Even though that is not my preferred genre it really worked well in this book. It was an interesting twist to the story.

If you know me you know I love the medical sub genre as well. I find the field fascinating and the authors always educate their readers. This time Sheryl brings awareness to giant cell arteritis, a known development of polymyalgia rheumatica.

Sheryl keeps us on our toes with this one! There are tragic deaths, a lot of jealousy, suspense, pain, heartache, secrets, oh so many lies, shocking moments, twists and turns.

There were some comical moments when Millie realized her first time wouldn’t be all roses and fairytales like she hoped it would be.

Trust in my eyes is something that should be earned not given. Trust Me is the perfect title for the book for the lack thereof.

Damm now that was an ending I never saw coming!! It was as good if not as more powerful than the prologue. Truly one of the best endings I have read!

Trust Me has an utterly brilliant storyline and was a highly engaging read!

Wow this story had me on tenterhooks. I never thought about it before but a doctors surgery must hold an array of secrets of which some are about to be discovered with tragic circumstances in the village that Emily lives in. In a way I loved the sort of gossip feel at finding out other peoples secrets and discovering lies but in the next breath I felt sad for the victims and couldn't understand why anyone would do such a cruel thing.

The suspense and tension builds up nicely to a wonderful climax. Everything and everyone is under question and I hadn't managed to guess anything until it was revealed before me which made it such a riveting read. Great story!

How many secrets and twists can you craft into one book? Sheryl wins the award for the most! Trust Me is one hell of a book, it really gets you thinking!
Emily and Jake have the perfect marriage, with a nice house, 2.4 kids etc, until Emily sees an email meant for Jake. This seems to be the catalyst for a series of events that blows not just their world apart, but half the villagers too!
One thing stands out in this book, you really do never know who to trust!
Definitely a 5 star from me!
