I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Trust Me’ by Sheryl Browne in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

In the village where Jake Merriden is the doctor and his wife Emily the practice manager, residents are receiving anonymous letters from someone who’s getting personal information that can only be accessed from their medical records at the surgery. Jake fears that Emily could be responsible especially as she’s been acting in an erratic and unexplained manner, whereas Emily thinks Jake has been having affairs with women in the village. Throughout their marriage Emily’s been keeping secrets from Jake but could she be responsible for something as devastating as ruining their patients’ lives?

While reading ‘Trust Me’ the characters became so real that I found myself wanting to make Jake and especially Emily sit down and insist they talk reasonably about their marriage, a sure sign of an excellent and realistic thriller, I think! The story is tense, well-written and involving, and kept me enthralled with the drama, suspense and twists and turns. I can thoroughly recommend this novel that had me gripped from the first page to the very last.

Thank You Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC of the book! This review is based on my honest opinion.

Emily and Jake Meridian are perfect couple in everyone eyes in the village. But Emily has a secret as she blames herself for the death of her twin sister Kara. And then one day, Emily gets an unknown email, claiming that Jake is having an affair...

This is the second book I have read from this author, the first book The New Girlfriend was really good so I was looking forward to read this one. This was good--the story was a bit fast paced, there's some sort of thrill going on in the story and we are actually wondering as a reader what Emily's secret is.. The series of letters that are received afterwards causing rifts between the other families as well as causing havoc in Emily's marriage with Jake so we are wondering who is sending these letters. There are suspects as well so as a reader we could guess. The ending was however unexpected, though I thought it was a bit lame in my opinion.

Overall it was a good thriller, though not gripping and sort of thriller that will keep you on the edge of the seat...worth three stars!

Another great read from Sheryl Browne.
Emily and Jake work and live together and all seems good until Emily sees an email sent to her husband.
She then suspects he’s having an affair and at a local event thinks she knows who the other woman is.
Letters then start being sent to patients revealing private information that sends shockwaves through the community.
With medical information being revealed the Doctors surgery where both Jake and Emily work is under suspicion.
Events soon become out of control for Emily and Jake and their children are part of it as well.
This is a gripping psychological thriller that well and truly had me hooked.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

I have loved every single book I’ve read of Sheryls, this one was no different. I honestly thought I had the whole plot worked out early doors, but then a huge plot twist comes along and changes the course of the story. It honestly kept me hooked from the very first page, I felt the characters were very relatable and I found myself really feeling their emotions as though they were my own. Highly recommended.

This wasn’t my fave by Sheryl Browne - a little too much going on which confused me at times. When Emily a practice manager reads an email indicating her GP husband is cheating - it opens a whole can of worms! Couple that with the secrets of the patients in the practice being anonymously shared it leads to many herrings of many colours. Worth a read.

I am excited to be taking part in the #BooksOnTour #BlogTour for Sheryl Browne's compelling thriller TRUST ME.

Trust is the predominant theme in Sheryl Browne's newest thriller TRUST ME, exploring every facet in every nook and every cranny where just one itty bitty piece of information in the wrong hands becomes the catalyst of catastrophic consequences. But at the centre of this tempest is the local doctor's surgery...where every private detail of every resident is kept under digital lock and key.

But what if someone had the key to all that data? To all those private details? To every secret that each person wishes to remain so?

Every one has something to hide as each relationship is brought into question. Everyone has a past. Everyone has baggage that they do not wish to share...particularly made public. With that thought in mind, the very idea that this could happen makes TRUST ME a truly scary concept indeed.

Emily and Jake appear to have the perfect life and perfect marriage with two children - 18 year old Ben and 16 year old Millie. The village in which they live had been Jake's home growing up and, though he vowed never to return after the tragic death of his mother, they find themselves moving back as Jake takes on a partnership with his estranged father at the local doctor's surgery. But still waters run deep as Dr Jake Merriden questions whether he has made the right move, with the blame for his mother's death still firmly rooted at his father's feet. Not to mention his father's roving eye still lingers over the younger female patients...some things never change.

At home, life is not always easy with two teenagers. Ben is moody and quick to anger whilst Millie is now at that impressionable age that Emily once was and remembers all too well. Her constant reminders that she doesn't want Millie to make the same mistakes she did fall on deaf ears. But little does Millie know just how scared her mother is of those mistakes - they are life changing and the scars they leave continue to haunt her today.

As practice manager at the surgery where Jake works, Emily is responsible for the data protection of all their clients...constantly reminding young receptionist Nicky to blank her screen and log out before leaving her desk. Patient files must be kept private at all times. After all, they trust them with that information. Trust.

Then one day at work, Emily reads an email that shatters her perfect world. And now she has one thing on her mind...which one of her friends is sleeping with her husband?

Emily constantly watches Jake, looking for little nuances to prove that the apple doesn't fall far from its tree. He talks and laughs with their children seemingly still her perfect husband. But then the phone rings and he walks into another room to answer before quickly putting it down again. She sees the guilt written on his face. She knows the signs...after all, she has been lying to him for years. So what is he hiding from her? Who was really on the phone? And where does he go all those late nights home where he claims he had a mountain of paperwork? Or a late call-out to a patient? Is Jake really so much like his father after all?

At work, Emily finds herself listening at closed doors hoping to discover the truth about her husband. But what she hears rocks her world as she learns that hers isn't the only family keeping secrets. Is there anyone left she can trust?

Then letters begin to find themselves posted through people's letterboxes, revealing private information that could only have come from the surgery. A wife on the pill when she supposedly wanted a child, a sympathy card with a cruel message, a threat to reveal a criminal past and suicide attempt to employers...all with disastrous consequences. As the letters revealing people's biggest secrets continue to appear, fingers point to Emily...as the one who has unlimited access to everyone's private history. But Emily knows she's innocent. Isn't she?

This isn't the the first time Emily has lied...and she has been behaving very erratically of late with her unfounded (bar the email) accusations of Jake's affair, her lack of sleep, her constant nightmares and her screamfests with Jake. When Jake also accuses her of leaking that information, Emily realises that she can no longer trust her husband. Nor can she trust her best friend who announces her pregnancy after Emily discovers their shared past that seems have been reignited.

Trust. It's all about trust. Trust no one.

As Emily's life seems to be imploding, there is a final twist that will bring everything to a head as the truth is finally revealed.

A cleverly told tale, I devoured TRUST ME in a day. I easily predicted who was behind the letters and the link between two characters but it didn't deter my enjoyment. There was a twist that I had down to one and was the result of another I didn't see coming, so hats off to Sheryl Browne for blindsiding me with that one!

It was easy to believe that Emily was losing the plot as her accusations were way out of nowhere and completely unfounded. What? Because of an email she'd read? Because of the things she heard behind closed doors? You know what they say about eavesdroppers...chances are you will never hear anything good. So naturally Emily took these instances as proof of Jake's infidelity and no matter how much he tried convincing her it was untrue, the more she believed him to be lying. After all, she'd lied to him...what's to stop him lying to her also?

But when it becomes clear why Emily is dishing out accusations and behaving erratically, one has to wonder exactly who can you really trust?

The story unfolds through mainly Emily and Jake's narratives, with a couple of others adding their parts of the story. I especially loved Edward and Joyce who featured so predominantly and yet only played a small part.

While it would take something deliciously twisted to outshine her previous thriller "The New Girlfriend" (which I totally loved), TRUST ME is still a frustratingly enjoyable read that you won't want to put down until you uncover every last little secret. I loved the village setting and gossipy nature of locals. It felt a little like an Agatha Christie novel crossed with an episode of Midsomer Murders - both of which featured "poison pen" letters. I can recall the Midsomer episode in which a doctor's surgery became the prime focus of patients' secrets being revealed with the practice manager being behind them in the end.

Another great read by Sheryl Browne, an author who I don't hesitate to go in blind without reading the premise. Trust me when I say fans of domestic thrillers are bound to devour TRUST ME.

I would like to thank #SherylBrowne, #NetGalley, #Bookouture for an ARC of #TrustMe in exchange for an honest review.

This was a roller coaster from beginning to end and I was captivated! What you think is a classic whodunnit suddenly turns into a mystery that has you guessing what the heck is going on. Someone is sending anonymous messages to married couples to break up their marriages. Someone is also stealing drugs from a doctors office. Is it all connected? This book had me guessing until the LAST PAGE. I honestly didn’t know who to believe. Well written. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Trust Me is a physiological thriller from a masterminded storyteller. Emily thinks her husband is cheating. So she starts inwardly freaking out. Checking all of his stuff~ emails, texts, etc. Then other secrets start coming out in her town & everyone suspects Emily. After all she is the GP's wife/secretary. She insists she isn't the one doing snooping but Emily has lied once before so why would she be telling the truth now?. Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for my early review copy.

Emily and Jake are the perfect couple. They work together in a local doctor's surgery, and they have two teenage children.
Their life seems perfect until Emily reads an email addressed to Jake.
Is her husband having an affair?
As Emily loses trust in her husband, other people's secrets start being exposed. It seems that someone is trying to break couples up.
Will they succeed?

This was an easy read but one that had me on the fence about the rating.
Initially, I struggled to get into the story that seemed to be revolving around the "is my husband cheating on me?" angle, but as the story progressed, I enjoyed trying to work out who might be responsible for the letters. I found the characters annoying; Emily's refusal to even allow her husband to give his side of the story as well as Jake's lack of effort to really talk to his wife felt unbelievable.
I was hesitating between 2 and 3 stars, but unfortunately, after some deliberation, I concluded that I couldn't justify the higher rating.
Overall, it was an OK read, so if you're looking for something easy, then this book is for you.

Jake and Emily have it all, a loving marriage, 2 beautiful children, money, status, pillars of their community.
Until Emily reads an email that will turn her world upside down. Then others in the tight knit community are targeted and their secrets exposed. Jake and Emily must find the culprit before it's too late!

This was for me a slow beginning. But when it finally got going, it was hard to put down!
I did think most of this would've been avoided if Jake and Emily had better communication but when emotions get heated and turned up, no one's really in the mood to listen. And what would be the fun in reading a story with no twist and turns. =)

Thank you to Net Galley and Sheryl Browne for the advanced copy of TRUST ME in return for my honest review. Trust Me is available on November 20, 2020!

Emily and Jake have it all! He’s a doctor and she helps manage his practice, they have two children with bright futures. One day when Emily is tidying up Jake’s office she comes across an email that leads her to question Jake’s ability to be trusted. She becomes paranoid – listening at doors and assuming the worst at every turn. Other anonymous letters start popping up all over town, trying to pit couples against one another. What is true and what is not? Who can be trusted?

Overall this book was an okay read. I will say I was extremely frustrated with the main characters Emily and Jake because instead of just communicating the issues they were each having they immediately assumed the worst of one another. This, for me, was not realistic of a couple who has been married for 18 years. There were many times when I was yelling at Emily to just talk to Jake and vice versa – I found that the story relied on the lack of communication and did not like that aspect of the book. There is a bit of twist at the end surrounding their daughter which was a fun add. There were a lot of things going on at once (including flashbacks) and sometimes it was hard to keep up. The very end (I believe in the Epilogue) kind of came out of left field for me. As much as I was hooked on the book to find out the ending, I had a hard time connecting with the characters as I did not find any of them to be likeable.

Ive been looking forward to starting Trust Me for the last week! I found myself very excited to sit down with it on a cold winters night in front of a roaring fire...perfection!
Honestly this book just wasn’t for me, I thought the opening was terrible, it was a really bad introduction to the characters. I carried on. There’s some magic missing in Trust Me...I couldn’t connect with the characters and while the premise of a intriguing plot was there it wasn’t enough for me to continue reading.
This was a did not finish for me and that’s why I’m scoring three stars (for fairness)
Thanks for the opportunity but just couldn’t connect with this story.

Trust Me , well its all about trust isn't in the long run.

Jake and Emily are married and work together. Jake is the local doctor and Emily manages his office.

Secrets that only Jake and the office start spreading around time and there are bad consequences.

Everyone looks at everyone else suspiciously.

Jake at Emily, Emily at Jake, Jake and Emily at their staff .

What is their daughter Millie up to?

Who can you trust?

Who would do this ?

The pages will turn themselves, though I figured it out it was still a fun ride as I yelled you can trust him, then quickly changed my mind and said no don't.

Sheryl Browne is a great story teller and never disappoints.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for a fun read.

Did not finish.
I tried to finish this book but unfortunately I didn't love the main character and the story "plots".
So much jealousy in one book.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me this ARC.

Trust Me reads like one of those twisty rollercoasters! Just when you think you might have it figured out, it twists and turns around again. Set in a lovely little village it concerns the lives of their local GP, his family and those residents being targeted by an anonymous letter writer who exposes all the deep, dark secrets harbored within those families. Happy hunting trying to figure out who it is!

I am a big fan of Sheryl Browne and was looking forward to this book.

It was an easy read and one that I got into straight away. Emily and Jake are the central characters, Jake is the local GP in a small village, soon things start going wrong as personal medical details are released about his patients.

Emily, his wife has been acting strange and has been accusing him of affairs with a number of different women. She is also the office manager at the GP's - he accuses her of leaking the protected patient info.

In the midst of this we have their daughter Millie, who is involved with an older man and keeping it a secret from her parents.

As the book went on it was obvious who the perpetrator was, I clicked the link between Ellie and Millie's boyfriend straight away, so in that respect I'd already worked out most of the twists.

I didn't like that one of Ellie's accusations about Jake was true - I thought he was better than that!

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book this is my honest opinion

If you are ready for a twisty, roller coaster of a read, Trust Me by Sheryl Brown is what you want.
Emily is married to Jake, the Dr in a small village. When Emily receives an anonymous letter she begins to question everything she knows about Jake. Is he having an affair? Is it with one of her friends? As the book goes on, letters are being mailed all over the village. No one is left out. Who is sending them and why? Just when I thought I knew I knew the answer, something proved me wrong.
Thank you to NetGalley and Book Outure for a copy of this book for and honest and fair opinion.

An action-packed, gripping read that kept me turning the pages and up far later than I intended. Loved the POV from different characters, and how everything took place against the backdrop of a quaint little village, the last place you'd expect such lies and secrets to be exposed. I didn't know who to trust and really didn't see the end coming. A great read

Emily’s life seems to be falling apart. She’s certain her husband is cheating on her and someone from their family medical practice is sending messages with personal medical information. Her daughter is sneaking off and coming home late and her son seems sullen and angry. Emily can’t seem to keep anything together as she tries to figure out if she’s just paranoid or if someone is trying to tear her family apart.
I thought this book was good. It did seem to drag in places but overall it was entertaining and an easy one sitting read. It was full of little twists and the ending was perfect!

What a great book with so many shocking twists!!! I love that we don’t know if Emily is just being paranoid or if there’s something to her suspicions. I loved all of the various storylines and how I didn’t guess any of it until it was revealed! I loved reading about all of the characters. I loved the various perspectives.
Definite 5 stars from me!

Huge thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me the privilege of reading this book in advance!
