Josie and Noah are back again! Book #10 in the Josie Quinn series is still a great series even book #10!! This book has you captivated from the first pages with the death of a young college girl who is the town's best swimmer on the swimming team that dies from drowning? It's up to Josie and her team to figure out how this strong swimmer could possibly die this way or is it somehow murder? I was completely blind sided when I got to the end and found out who was slowly killing members of the town. After 10 books you get so invested in the characters of the book that you can't help but want more and more! One of my favorite series of all time. Love the writing, the characters and that every book is so different. Definitely recommend this series and this book . I know you will love it as much as I do!!!!

This is the tenth book in this series and I have enjoyed all of them. The mystery keeps you guessing who and why until near the end of the story. I did really like how this book shows more growth in the characters and more emotional development.

Breathe Your Last opens with Nysa, a champion swimmer, seemingly drowning in the pool of Denton College. To her family and friends this seems inconceivable and murder is immediately suspected. Her autopsy shows no foul play and she did indeed drown. Detective Josie Quinn has an instinct that it's not as straightforward as it seems and her investigation leads down a direction totally unexpected. Lisa Regan never disappoints and I think Breathe Your Last is among the best in the Josie Quinn series. I recommend.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for this ARC
I really really enjoyed this book. It had me engrossed from the first page. Number 10 in the series and none of the staleness nor sameness that you sometimes get in long running series. Lisa Regan has come up with a very clever and unusual plot that really is an addictive and nail bitting. I didn’t want to put this down and I read it over one 24 hours. A great rollercoaster of a read with an explosive emotional ending

4.5 stars

An experienced champion swimmer drowned, her belonging found with a strange symbol and a message to be a mermaid, a retired firefighter's home is engulfed in flames after he says, "be a match". What is going on in Denton, Pennsylvania? What is the connection between the swimmer and fire fighter? The strange symbol was located near each of the crime scenes - they are crime scenes, right? Josie Quinn is going to do everything she can to find out! She also needs to find out what is going on with Noah, who is not acting like himself. He is withdrawn, quiet and being secretive.

This is book ten in the Detective Josie Quinn series and I cannot wait for book eleven to come out. Thankfully, Lisa Regan is a fast writer!! Like the other books in the series, this book piqued my interest from the very first page. I was quickly glued to the pages and curious to see what the investigation would reveal.

Not only was the investigation and crime intriguing in this book, I was also impressed with the character development in this book. If you have been reading this book from the beginning, you will know that Josie along with the other members of her team have all grown and become closer over the course of this series. We have been given glimpses into their pasts, their relationships, their family life, etc. We have watched them struggle, overcome personal issues, love, build strong friendships and have working camaraderie with their coworkers. Josie is tough as nails, but it was also nice to see a more vulnerable side of her in this book.

Another riveting page turner from Regan. As always, this book was beautifully written and perfectly paced. Nothing felt rushed nor drawn out in this book. Josie and her team are knee deep in the action in this book. Josie's loved ones also make appearances as well. I really enjoy the cast of characters in this book.

Then there is THAT ending! Whew!

Breath Your Last is a well written, intriguing book that had me on the edge of my seat.

Highly Recommend.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Has spoilers!!!!! Just a heads up!

Another Amazing book in the series. I first thought oh no is Noah the killer this time.....nooo it can't be him. He was acting suspicious the entire book!

This one some how made me want brownies 😂. Although it does make you think twice about eating food that people make you. Just never know these days....which is sad.

I really wish this would become a TV show. The amount of detail Lisa puts into her work makes you feel like you are actually there with all the characters.

Ok so towards the end I got really pissed. Like how can you kill of Noah!!!! How can you do that to Quinn!!!! Oh just kidding 😑. This part literally made me so angry 🤣. Then it got better of course. Can't wait for book 11 to hear about a wedding!!!!

Lisa Regan has done it again! This next installment in the Josie Quinn series is a classic "Who Dunnit?" mystery novel. At the heart of the book is the mystery of how a local swim champion can possibly drown in an indoor pool. The victim walks into the gym as if nothing is wrong and hours later her body is found floating in the pool. Is it suicide? If not, how is it possible that a murder actually took place when no one else was seen entering the gym. What follows is a series of odd incidents that on the surface make no sense. I was actually in stiches laughing in one of the first chapters when Josie was driving Misty and her son Harris to pre-school for the first time. I won't say more accept to say that having Josie as a god mother will definitely give Harris a different sort of education. If you love this Josie Quinn mystery series, this book will certainly not disappoint.

Once again Lisa Regan gives us another brilliant, nail biting, roller coaster of a ride and an excellent addition to the Josie Quinn series with Breathe Your Last and believe me there were times when I nearly did myself.

The death of the universities top swimmer by drowning in the local swimming pool is just the start of a series of unusual and mysteries incidents that happen in Denton that Detective Josie Quinn and her team must investigate.

As always Josie will stop at nothing to get a result and find the perpetrator even if it means putting herself in danger.

Great storyline and excellent characters, including sister Trinity, brother Patrick and partner Noah to name just a few, make this a fabulous read.
There were times I took deep breaths, gasped "Oh No" and shed a few tears- now that's what makes Breathe Your Last such a super novel.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC for my honest review.

Heart stopping page turner.
It starts with the thoughts of a calculated killer which we hear multiple times throughout the book. Josie heads to the university to bitch out her brother for turning her workshirts pink and stumbles across a champion swimmer drowned in the pool. How can this happen? The next day, according to his grandchildren, a retired firefighter sets his house ablaze. The only commonality is brownies. As more strange things happen, Josie gets help from surprising source, her brother Patrick. If it wasn't enough that she has her hands full with a tough investigation, life is not peachy on the homefront with Noah being so distant.
You think you've figured out who the killer is but you're likely wrong. The tension is really ratcheted up in the last few chapters to a heart pounding conclusion. I can't wait for the book 11!

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

Josie Quinn leads the readers on another wild ride! Breathe Your Last by Lisa Regan is the tenth in the Detective Josie Quinn series. I enjoy this series very much and reading each new book is like a visit with friends. This book starts with a narrative from the killer that lets the reader know this person has no compassion for others.
Josie makes a stop to take her brother Patrick a shirt for his new job and stumbles upon a victim of what appears to be a drowning Soon there are other unexplainable incidents that leave others clinging to life soon after they eat brownies from an unknown source.
When Josie traces the evidence and finds someone is using "Devils Breath" to drug random people, she knows there is a serious problem in her town. I won't post spoilers, but it is scary to think someone could use this type of drug so easily. The scene with Josie, Noah, Misti, and Harris is frightening!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Description
Josie presses her hands into the center of the drowned girl’s chest and pumps, counting off compressions. She takes in the girl’s beautiful face, her brown eyes glassy. The memory of a champion swimmer on the podium with her teammates—a red swim cap on, her head thrown back in laughter—a stark contrast to the cold, still body before her. Breathe. Just breathe...

Number 10 in the Josie Quinn series and it's as good as the first. Lisa Regan never fails to create a riveting read with a plot that drives the story forward at a compelling pace. This one goes from one cliff hanger to another with barely time to catch your breath and yet Regan is still able to further develop her regular characters and smoothly introduce new ones. Although I have read all of the books so far, this, like the others, can be read as a stand alone. That said, I would recommend reading them in order if you can as the characters personal relationships are developed incrementally with each installment. 5 stars again for this one and I can't wait for the next.

We all have our series we cannot wait to get back to, those characters and settings that feel like old friends every time you have the pleasure to return to when you pick up a new installment. The Detective Josie Quinn series is exactly that for me. I've been a fan of this detective series ever since I read the first book back in 2018, and I've devoured every single sequel since then. This series is known for its lightning fast and action-packed plots, and I can definitely recommend clearing your schedule as it will be really hard to stop reading once you've read the first chapters. These books are highly addictive and simply exhilarating!

While technically you could read Breathe Your Last as a stand-alone, I would suggest reading the books in order as you will be missing out on significant character background otherwise. And trust me, you will be missing out on hours and hours of detective thriller entertainment in the first place! Breathe Your Last has once again a very interesting plot as well as developments on a personal level for Josie Quinn. It might not be all too credible to have that many criminals and serial killers running around in the small town of Denton, but I'm not complaining as it means more Josie Quinn adventures to enjoy! Things can be said about the credibility in general, but I personally don't mind as I'm always too busy turning those pages and having fun.

We get to see the story unfold both through the eyes of Josie and the killer. The chapters with the killer's POV were particularly interesting, as I always appreciate an opportunity to get a glimpse inside the head of a serial killer. The plot was another interesting one, and you will find yourself on the edge of your seat as the case starts to develop. It definitely won't be easy to guess the identity of the killer early either! You will also find a healthy dose of action and suspense, and I confess at one point towards the ending my heart nearly stopped and I suddenly wanted to throw my kindle at the wall... Trust me, you will know exactly what I'm talking about as soon as you reach that point in the story. I really liked how everything was wrapped up though, and I'm already looking forward to the next one. What a read!

If you enjoy a well written, fast and action-packed detective thriller series that just keeps delivering, you should definitely find the time to schedule a meeting with Josie Quinn. This is without doubt one of my favorite detective series, and Breathe Your Last is another winner!

Another fantastic story from Lisa Regan. In the Josie Quinn and Noah series.. a most unusual storyline, leaves you guessing who is responsible for a series of unusual murders. Leaving to a very surprising end.

Buckle up! Readers are in for a heck of a ride in Lisa Regan's new Josie Quinn novel, Breathe Your Last. Josie is called to investigate the mysterious death of a college student... and the case quickly snowballs as more victims are found doing uncharacteristic activities. Josie is paired with Mettner and Gretchen for much of this investigation as Noah is off doing something "else" (and Josie can't figure out what that could be). With cameos from her sister, mother, and newly found cousin, she's got all she can deal with personally whilst she tries to unravel this case. This book is part of a series, but new readers can jump right in on this book... and then go back and read the rest (believe me, you'll want to). This is a fantastic addition to Ms Regan's series and I hope they keep coming as Josie Quinn is one of my absolutely favorite characters!

4.5 heart stopping stars

I can’t believe this is book #10 in this series! I love the main character – Detective Josie Quinn. She is always in the thick of crime and danger in Denton. This time a series of murders and strange crimes has everyone stumped. Why on earth would the university’s best swimmer drown?

Josie and her team work to solve this crime as others pile up. Other chapters are from the mind of the killer and they are chilling indeed. It becomes a game of cat and mouse and a frantic race to the finish.

Meanwhile, Noah is distant and I really worried about what he was up to in this one. Let me warn you that this one has a dramatic ending. You really got me Lisa Regan! Can’t wait until you have book #11 for us to read!

The book jacket states ~ “An Addictive and nail-biting crime thriller.”.
I regard statements like this as a challenge!! You know when it states hilarious and to me it is a tad humorous.
Trust me in this story author, Lisa Regan delivers. This is #10 in the Josie Quinn series and the first one for me. I wasn’t lost in reading this but it did make me think. Ouch! I sure missed nine great reads!

Story starts when the killer states in the Prologue states that the victim “Got what they deserved”.
Right off the, a victim dies who is a Champion Swimmer ~ drowns.
Soon another victim dies from something he is an expert and hero ~ he is a retired Firefighter who sets fire to his home while babysitting his two granddaughters.
Detective Josie Quinn sets out to find the killer, however some think accidents and question if there is a killer!
We, of course, know there is someone responsible~ but whom?

Story has many twists; which I totally LOVE.

Additionally, I always enjoy the author’s note at the end of the novel. In this case, Lisa Regan entitles hers “A Letter from Lisa”.
She starts with thanks us for reading and then states is you are reading this it means you didn’t throw your e-reader or hardback book across the room.
This make me laugh as I have often threatened to do that with a book but am more careful with my e-reader but certainly considered it!
She also states that she does her best to cut out the boring stuff and bring just drama.
Yep she delivered!

This story earns 5 Stars from me and I take rating seriously and don’t just hand out high reviews.
This did not disappoint and I am looking forward to Josie Quinn #11!!!

While on the Denton University campus to see her brother. Detective Josie Quinn discovers a body in the campus swimming pool. Those who know her are shocked when it’s revealed that Denton’s star swimmer Nysa Somers is a victim of drowning. There are no obvious signs of foul play and Josie’s chief wants the case closed. However, something about the young woman’s death doesn’t add up, and Josie just can’t let it go. When tragedy strikes again, nobody can deny there is a killer on the loose that Josie and her team need to stop before anyone else becomes a victim.

This book is the tenth Josie Quinn mystery. I started reading these books in the middle of the series, but have enjoyed each of the books I’ve read. This story is mainly told from Josie’s point of view with a few chapters told from the point of view as an unidentified killer who clearly feels justified in taking the lives of the victims. Josie is a complicated character with much tragedy in her personal life. She is trying to make a life with fellow detective Noah Fraley, but there are tensions between them as the case progresses.

This series combines the best of police procedurals and thrillers. The investigation is realistic and described in detail, and the tension builds as the story goes keeping the reader in suspense. No spoilers, but the details about the killing shock the Denton detectives but I’ve seen this method of killing in other books, so I thought someone on the team would have heard of it. That was my least favorite part of the otherwise suspenseful plot. The book is fast-paced and has some truly nail-biting moments toward the end of the book. I was pleased about how the book ends and can’t wait to see what’s in store for Josie in the future.

I received this ebook from NetGalley through the courtesy of Bookouture. An advance copy was provided to me at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

Detective Josie was on her way to talk to her brother Patrick who works at Denton University when she tumble onto a young woman drowned in the swimming pool as she tries to revive her she realize who the young woman is Nysa a champion swimmer so how did she drown when she can swim. As she and her team investigate a another crime happens a respected firefighter is excuse of setting his house on fire as each crimes seems crazy as the next Josie and her team are trying to find out how these crimes are connected and it’s baffling them because they are dying by the profession that they are good at.

I love that we get to see more layers of Josie soon you think you know her and then she keeps surprising you. This story was easy to follow I wasn’t bored I like that it wasn’t so obvious who the killer was and that you right there with characters as they figure it out.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

I have just finished Breathe Your Last and I am absolutely lost for words. I don't know how Lisa Regan does it time after time. This book wasn't like anything I have read before, so original and completely heartstopping. Josie Quinn is such an interesting character and her team are coming into their own now. One of my favourite detective series , I'm already looking forward to reading the next book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read this amazing book!
