Josie calls to meet her brother on campus and in doing so comes across the body of a young girl floating in the swimming pool. How can a prize winning swimmer die by drowning? A few days later a fire engulfs a house and Josie rescues a grandfather and two young girls. How can a respected firefighter be suspected of setting fire to his own house? What is the connection between these cases?
Lisa Regan gives us another tension filled book. Josie and all the gang are back and working hard to catch a strange killer. But is there a killer? How are they killing these people?
I look forward to every new book from Lisa Regan and this one is no exception. The downside is I have to wait a long time for the next one!
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Lisa Regan for granting me an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Lisa Regan does it again! Wow! Great story. There was one moment where I completely froze in shock.

In each book, you see Josie change and grow as a cop, a person, a friend ,,, What I loved most about this latest Josie Quinn, is you really get to see Josie fight her feelings and her fears. You not only see the change, but you feel it. Great character arc!

Can’t wait for the next one!

Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for this eARC.

The premise of this story is fascinating, people are dying by the thing least likely to kill them. A champion swimmer who drowned, a career firefighter who set fire to his own house - it seems completely improbable and immediately drew me in. Everyone on Detective Josie Quinn's team is perplexed, as well, and they don't think they'll be able to crack this one. It doesn't help that the police chief steadfastly refused to consider that there was any foul play to begin with until the coroner provided the undeniable evidence. He pushes for the quickest and easiest conclusion as usual, which makes it even harder for the team to investigate thoroughly to uncover what's really happening.

When one of their own becomes dangerously close to becoming the latest victim, the team go all out to find the connection and what they discover could put their entire town unknowingly at risk. This leads Josie to fear for her close family members, and when she desperately needs her boyfriend Noah to comfort her, he's never around. She knows they are deep in an investigation but she can't believe how often he fails to communicate or how vague he seems when he does. Is solving this case going to cost Josie her relationship? How many more innocent people will fall victim to the evil terrorizing her town? You'll just have to read to find out and the exciting conclusion will make you so glad you did!

Lisa Regan continues to enthrall readers with her unique and intriguing storyline in book ten of the Josie Quinn series. Regan offers the book as a stand-alone but also commits herself to veteran fans by offering captivating development in character arcs. As Josie and her team race against time to find the answers behind a string of mysterious deaths, readers are offered a purview into the mind of the antagonist and what a ride that is! Great read.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the ARC of #BreatheYourLast which was read and reviewed voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"The body of a young girl lying face down in a swimming pool—white tennis shoes still on her feet, chestnut hair fanned out like a halo—is the last thing Detective Josie Quinn expects to find on an early morning visit to see her brother before class at Denton University. But when she recognizes the girl’s face as she drags her limp body from the water, there’s only one question racing through Josie’s mind: how does a champion swimmer accidentally drown?"
A totally gripping crime thriller, a captivating story that twisted and turned. I really couldn't put it down. Highly recommend reading it.

This is the 10th book starring Detective Josie Quinn and it was a great read.
Josie turns up to see her Younger brother at the University and they discover Nysa, a student, drowned in the pool. Josie immediately dives in and tries CPR but with no luck. The question of how the star swimmer managed to drown seems unanswerable but Josie is trying to get to the bottom of it. As the case develops her partner seems to always be on the missing list and more discoveries lead to more questions.
The story was fantastic but I did miss the fact that Trinity only makes a passing visit in the book so hope she back for book eleven!

Breathe Your Last by Lisa Regan. Crazy, twisty, thoroughly engaging thriller .Even when you think you know who the killer is and their motive, Ms Regan pulls the rug out from under you. Getting to know more about the team members is an added bonus. The Josie Quinn series keeps getting better and better.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

So here we are once more in book ten of the wonderful Detective Josie Quinn series and as with every other book in the series this lives up to all expectations it a fabulous read. Josie once more is plunged into an intriguing case of young championship swimmer who appears to have inexplicably drowned but Josie is not convinced there are many things that just don’t add up and so from then on we are plunged headlong into a compulsive read that I flew through.
Well Lisa Regan sure knows how to write a compelling story and the character of Josie Quinn is one that you can warm to and care about as are many other characters that also reappear in this instalment.
Having read all the books in the series I have loved every one of them and am always thrilled when a new book is out as I always know that I’m in for a real treat and I can honestly say that the books just get better and better so long may the series continue please and many many thanks to Lisa for another winner!
My thanks also to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

A light easy to read mystery, a string of mysterious deaths or almost death, a strong heroine and an interesting plotline, i didn't guess the villain until fairly into the book. I tend to not like books that have some of the chapters from the killer's perspective, unless they are very very well done, very psychologically advanced, only one author who does it well in my mind. so this was pretty good, but forgetable

This series keeps getting better and better. You never know where the Author will lead you but you know it will be a wild and crazy ride. I love the characters. My heart was in my throat a few times on this ride. You know there is a murderer. No way will you guess who that is. That is how great this Author is. I wish the Author and publisher could have multiple books ready to read at the same time. It is very hard to wait for the next instalment. Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookoutre and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

Wow this book had a moment that's almost heart attack inducing. The murders/killer aspect of the story is creative. Josie has come a long way and is finally acknowledges that she has a rather large family now both by blood and friendships. She is tenacious when on a case and stops at nothing until solves the case even if that puts her life in danger. Another great addition to the series and cant wait to see what's next.

This is book #10 in the Josie Quinn series. Whilst it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, although I would recommend reading the other books in order for better understanding of the stories. Now, in my review for book #9, Save Her Soul, I believe I said it was the best book of the series! Well...I was wrong, it's the second best as this book is definitely up there in first place!!!

We are back in the US town for Denton where Detective Josie Quinn is investigating the death of a young woman in a swimming pool. It's a strange case - the woman was a strong swimmer and there doesn't appear to be anyone else involved, yet Josie and her team are struggling to understand how Nysa Somers ended up fully clothed at the bottom of a swimming pool. When more incidents happen in mysterious circumstances around the town, Josie can only assume they are all linked somehow.

This was such an original storyline, so completely different to anything I've read before. I'm so amazed at how authors come up with these ideas!!! I love Josie's character and have followed this series right from the first book! It really does feel like I'm visiting an old friend!! Josie has, in previous books, met her fair share of crazy killers but none matches this book! The story is fast paced, enthralling and completely mesmerising, grabbing me at the first page and not letting go until the very last. The storyline is unusual but its definitely raised my heartbeat and had me biting my nails at every turn of the page. There seemed to be no links to any of the victims, and the author kept me guessing the whole way through the book. I had no idea who was responsible for the attacks and despite trying to work it out I didn't know until the author was ready to tell me!!

I love Josie's story in this book also. You get to find out much more about her character!! We get to see a vulnerability to her which we haven't seen much of and I have to admit to shedding a few tears along with her. Her relationship with Harris, her ex husband's young son is particularly heartwarming and I couldn't help but think what a good mother she would make. Equally her relationship with her partner, Noah is great and you can definitely feel her love for him. Noah does though, in this book, seem preoccupied with other matters of his own...

There was so much action in this book that I spent most of my time with my heart in my mouth!! We had drowning, fires, crashes, rescues, bridge jumps...the list goes on. Just when you begin to recover from one part, you find yourself right in the middle of another. But that's certainly not a bad thing, quite the opposite, it's absolutely brilliant!!!! I didn't want to put this book down and found myself reading into the early hours just to squeeze in a few more chapters.

Of course, Josie is joined by other characters, most whom we already knew. Her team are all back together and work so well together- Gretchen is yet again a Superstar in this book!! We meet her sister, Trinity again, and her younger brother Patrick is around to cause havoc with her laundry (you'll understand!!) I've still not quite made up my mind about Sawyer, so I'll wait and see what happens in future books! They are all though, a great supporting cast and complement the story so well.

It's definitely one hell of a rollercoaster ride, with so many twists and turns it'll make you dizzy!! It's energetic, exciting, thrilling and nerve-wracking!! Look no further if you want a police procedural thriller that will have you shouting O.M.G. at every page!! I love Josie and I loved this book!! Highly recommended!!!

Once again Lisa Regan delivers a cracking read!

Josie is easily one of my favourite detectives. She has gone through so much in her life, but she still always shows kindness and resilience.

The story itself is very interesting. I would recommend this!

Breathe Your Last by Lisa Regan is a powerhouse Josie Quinn novel that builds on the greatness that is this series! You open each book in the series never quite knowing what to expect, and that’s one of the things I love about Ms. Regan’s writing. When Breathe Your Last opens, you are immediately creeped out, and you can’t help but love every single word of the killer’s prologue. There is nothing I love more than getting into the head of the killer and Ms. Regan does that with a steady, creepy hand throughout the whole of the book.

The book opens with Josie dropping Harris off at his new 4-year-old kindergarten class and then heading to her brother’s college to read him the riot act for being careless with his laundry. When she arrives at his work, the school pool, she forgets about her anger at him when she finds a young college student floating in the pool. When her revival efforts fail, Josie’s new case is never more apparent. How did the university’s top swimmer drown in a pool wearing her street clothes? Josie, Mett, Noah, and Gretchen set out to discover if it was a tragic mistake or if there was something more sinister behind it. Let’s face it, this is a Lisa Regan book, of course, there is something more sinister behind it!

As is always the case with Ms. Regan, every single word matters to the twisting, turning, loop-de-loop mystery that is a Josie Quinn book, and this one is no different. Once again, Josie finds herself in situations that are life and death on a daily basis. First, she must rescue a young girl from a burning house that, if you believe the girls who escaped the fire, their grandfather set. Their grandfather who was a celebrated Denton firefighter. Something was amiss in Denton and it all revolved around a baggie full of brownies, and a sticker that no one could decipher or attribute to anyone.

It’s smart to never count Josie out, though. Even without any leads, she will keep fraying at the end of the rope until that single thread she needs shows itself. In this case, she’s able to use the people closest to her to get the lead she needs. Surprisingly, it comes from her brother Patrick, a Denton University student who has inside knowledge of the things that have gone on there the past few years. I truly enjoyed this part of the book because it was nice to see Josie getting to know Patrick as a sister, and not a cop. She’s listening to him and seeing that he’s a good kid who even when he does bonehead things like turn her shirts pink in the wash, is smart, capable, and this time had the break she needed to find that thread to unravel.

I loved seeing Josie grow and move forward in her personal life in this book. The reader got to see a little bit of her vulnerability when things weren’t going right, both with the case and with Noah. Josie likes to pretend she’s a robot, but in the end, she’s not, and it was nice to see that she’s starting to admit to herself that she needs people around her who love and support her.
Breathe Your Last has such an intricate plot of connections that you won’t guess this one until Ms. Regan starts unraveling it for you page by page. The ending will shock you, and leave your heart pounding until the final page! Well done, Ms. Regan, once again you’ve written a can’t put it down thriller that elevates this series to the likes of Sue Grafton, Michael Connelly, Karen Slaughter, and James Patterson.
