A fatal illness will make you look at your life, see all your mistakes, failures and sins and make you want to redeem as many as possible. That's the journey to freedom Francisco and Stacy are taking in this novel. Two very different people with very different broken stories. It's about the freedom that comes with tearing down the walls we build around us.

I can't give 5 stars because of Francisco's incredible accent. No Hispanic person will ever talk like that, using easy words in Spanish and difficult ones in English.

This book tells the story of Stacy and Francisco, both coming from difficult pasts.. Life throws them together at some point, and then their journey begins. The premise was promising.
However, the book is not what I expected when I requested it. Somehow, even Spanish being my main language, I found difficult to read the combination of two characters thinking and talking in different languages in consecutive paragraphs. It was a real effort.
I suppose the author's idea could work better with readers not familiar with Spanish, but it wasn't my case.
I wish her luck.
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
