This was a cute holiday romance. Definitely gives off Hallmark vibes if that is what you are looking for during the holiday season.

Maggie has a string of bad luck right before she heads home for the holiday. As if things can't get worse she has to spend the holiday with the first boy she ever loved and who broke her heart. A lovely story about second chances, forgiveness, and finding yourself again.

I sure do love a Christmas book. This one was lovely and that cover is gorgeous. There's just something special about Christmas books, while they usually have some element of realness, there is something magical about Christmas time and books like this always depict that magic well.

An Imperfect Christmasby Tanya Jean Russell

Maggie's life is on track good job, steady relationship and nice home in London TIL it wasn’t! She is suddenly made redundant, her partner leaves and she receives a worrying a message from her doctor. Maggie decides to go back to her family home after many years to try and get her life back on track.

A well written story about love relationship and family bonds. Good read .

This has been on my TBR for several years now, and I can’t seem to make myself finish it. I’m sorry! I’m sure someone will love it, but it just isn’t for me.

Not your usual Christmas story.... But, an enjoyable read in every possible way.
Life has many plans and sometimes we need love and strength to cope with the curve balls it delivers.

I received an arc from NetGalley for an honest review. An excellent overall read but I might change the title as there wasn't much Christmas in the book as a whole.

I nice holiday read.

I liked Maggie and the overall story, I just wished that it was more about Christmas. I think that the cancer situation could have been more in depth also as a driving force for love and caring. A good overall read.

I really wanted to love this book. But it cannot, I like it though. Maggie is a likable character and the book was cute. However, a lot of the plot points have been done before, and it was a little tired/predictable. Still, it was a good book and I would recommend it.

An enjoyable story with Maggie being a believable character going home for the first time for two years with a lot of problems and having to meet her first love who rejected her. Good storyline and characters make this a quick easy read to get you in the mood for Christmas

3.5 stars for this cute Christmas book! A very quick read that had some heart warming moments.

Life was good for main character Maggie. She had a great career, a commited relationship to a successful man and a really nice apartment in London. Things were definitely going well. Until all of the sudden they weren't. In one swift motion, she was made redundant at her job, dumped by her boyfriend and received a distressing, worrisome call from her doctor.

With her life now totally in shambles, she decided to head home to her family, a place she hadn't returned to in a few years. This is where we got to meet the secondary characters in the book - Maggie's friends and family. The book is heavy on relationships, both romantic ones and the bonds of family. It's also about love, forgiveness and second chances.

I enjoyed this book but be warned...If you are expecting a light and fluffy Hallmark type Christmas book, you won't find that here. Without any major spoilers, it does deal with some hard hitting issues. In fact, my one complaint is that this book was quite light on the Christmas vibes. Besides being set around the holidays and a few scenes with Christmas tree decorating and wrapping presents, it was very light on the Christmas. But I did appreciate the quick read, the interesting characters and the second chance romance.

Nice enough story about coming back home and picking up the pieces. Doesn't stand out so much, especially given how I kept being stuck on the whole 'they are too young' aspect (expecting in today's world to be made Director in a firm in the City at just twenty-five? And the hero has travelled the world and is so worldly yet he is just twenty-four? This was a huge disconnect for me...) Still, the family aspect was nice, and I'm hoping this was the set-up book for giving stories to the rest of the unattached Parker brothers

A lovely christmassy romantic read. Just what I needed, festive and fun. Slightly predictable in places but it didn't spoil the book for me .
Lovely character.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

A gentle enough read that sadly didn't quite work for me. I found the hero and some of the other characters to be way too controlling and bossy. But that's just me.

Without that it's a nice enough read.

Just not one that was my taste

Just the ticket for when you're craving some Christmassy fun. This novel has all the elements I look for in a good romance: relatable heroine, the will they-won't they which keeps you turning the pages, the nail-biting moment when you wonder if its all going to turn out OK for Maggie. Will she be able to make peace with her past. Will Christmas be the end of her 'old' life and the beginning of a new chapter for her?

A truly wonderful story that is perfect all year round, a must read and a definite will read again!

This was a sweet Christmas romance book. It was wholesome, had a great warm family feel to it, and it was just homey and sweet. It's exactly the kind of book people would want to be reading around Christmas time because although there was a health scare and some sad moments, it was uplifting and lovely. An Imperfect Christmas follows Maggie Green as she travels home for the holidays after a triple whammy of life changing news. She returns home to the sister that raised her, the close family friends that she grew up with and her first love. Over the course of the holidays she navigates all her life changing events as her past catches up with her present and in the end she needs to decide if she wants the life she's always wanted or the life she thought she always needed to have.

Maggie's life was difficult and sad and she worked hard to make a better life for herself and to try and provide for her sister and niece. In doing so, however, she kind of lost herself and who she truly was. It took her finally coming home to come to terms with everything but it was the necessary wake up call she needed to live a genuinely happy life. Nathan Parker was Maggie's closest friend growing up and was the only person she ever truly loved until his rejection set her down a walled off and lonely path. Although she somewhat moved on with her life, the walls she built, the changes she made to fit in, and the false truths she told herself to protect her heart made it difficult for Maggie to give Nathan a second chance. It took Nathan having his own personal revelation of his feelings and about his feelings in the past to own up to his mistakes to Maggie and finally give her enough of himself to finally be forgiven and for them to move on to better and happier things.

The family and Christmas setting just exuded so much warmth and love. It was definitely something that I always enjoy in a book! The closeness of the family, the small town setting, and just the fact that they had that childhood connection just really helped the book along. With everything Maggie had been through and everything she was currently going through with her health, she deserved happiness. I like the way the book ended, with her childhood hopes and dreams coming true. The book wasn't too heavy, it had its sad and heartbreaking points but the book was still light, warm and Christmassy. I would easily recommend this to fellow romance readers.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

I think the premise and plot had a lot of promise, but I found that they weren't fully met. You should give it a go if you are looking for a light and quick wintery small-town novel. It was just a little too repetitive for my liking. I loved the festive atmosphere!
