This is my first book of Ms. Stilings and I can tell that I am going to enjoy reading more of hers. I’ll get on that right away. I really liked this book, how the police department bumbled their way through the investigation, the horror scene, and just the overall interaction between the characters. Sienna and Juliet were great characters. You could see the connection immediately, loved the dialogue, and the mystery of whodunnit was well done.

Heart of the Storm by Nicole Stiling is a mystery-romance that takes place in a small town. Usually I am not one for crime/mystery books unless the book is set around the main character being in danger (like the author's debut book) but the plot sounded really intriguing to me. especially the romance part and I really liked author's other two books so I decided to read this. Unfortunately I didn't like it as much as I expected to. The book moved slowly and the mystery didn't interest me.
The romance was cute but nothing earth shattering. The MCs acknowledged their attraction pretty quickly and then they did the 'I like you but we can't be together because of our family' thing way too many times. My favourite in the book was probably the family watching horror movie scene.
I am sure fans of mystery-romance will like it.. Overall this was a good read but didn't give me the same thrill that the other two books by this author did. I look forward to reading Stiling's next book

Loved it. It was a fresh storyline that I haven’t read before and the romance was excellent. The characters were mature and actually dealt with the problems they were facing in an adult way. I liked that the ex wasn’t portrayed as a bad guy. I found that refreshing.

The murder plot was really interesting as well. Kept me guessing until the end and I was invested in the characters, especially Gretchen. My heart broke for her.

Both of the main characters were great, but I’m in love with Sienna. Definitely recommend.

Interesting storyline. Soon to be ex wife, ex girlfriend (sort of) who had son and son. Same man for each. Exes meet and click. Some police murder investigation as well. Liked book well enough but also felt it was a bit anti-climactic as well.

Solid story. very interesting and I very much enjoyed reading it. it was balanced ( thriller and romance) and I appreciated that, I felt the connection and loved how mature both the character were. everything was good I rarely found something that annoys me. or felt like It was repeated.

Highly recommended.

Juliet Mitchell is doing just fine. Her career with the Shell Creek Police Department is on track, her son, Declan, is amazing, and for the first time in a long time, life is simple, if unremarkable. Until a dead body is found outside the Shell Creek Library.

Fast read. Awesome thriller book!
The characters were well played.
I loved the plot of the book.
