Well written with good character development but very predictable to me. A woman is attacked and left for dead. And her memory is gone. She has nothing to rely on to tell her what really happened and the memories slowly start to come back to her. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A serial murder is wrecking havoc. When one of his victims is found alive, the police think they can finally solve the identity of the killer. Unfortunately the victim, Daisy, can’t remember anything from that night. As everyone searches for clues, mysteries start to unravel.

For me this book was about the ‘why’ and not the ‘who’ of the serial murderer. I figured out fairly early in the book who he was or at least who had a connection to him. The book was then learning about why and how the person became who he was.

I didn’t realize until I started reading that this book is included in a series about Detective Riley. I didn’t feel I missed anything by not reading the other books in the series but I enjoyed this book so much that I’ll be looking for others in the series to add to my list!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for The Woman Inside. Very fast reading whereas I wanted to figure this psychological out BUT that was some Spin that was in the plot!. I did figure it out pretty early but not in the way you might think. The characters were well written and it was a real good read. I do feel sad that there are some people like the psychological character. Excellent but creepy in a way novel.

Another gripping thriller that you won’t be able to put down! Game changing page turner! The premise was so good I had to read this! The fact that this is part of a series will not be a big deal... I didn’t even realize until after. Daisey is attacked with little memory of what happened, she only remembers her fiancé left her for another woman. Pretty quick and easy read but I still recommend it! I was surprised and enjoyed it

I could not put this book down, despite the fact that I was literally shaking and my heart was racing with fear during parts of it!

There is a serial killer on the loose and somehow, Daisey, his most recent victim, survived. Problem is that she can’t remember anything about the night that she was attacked in her own home. With the help of her new friend (and roommate) Iris, her ex-fiance Luke and the detective on the case, small fragments of her memory begin to return. But Diasey is on edge, feels as if she can’t keep her life in order and discovers lies that she and others have told.

The character relationships, growth and drama are perfectly intertwined with the storyline. I did find part of the ending to be predictable, however it did not stop me from reading or enjoying the book.

The Woman Inside is a fast paced psychological thriller that does not disappoint.

Dan Riley (fourth in the series) is determined to find out who the serial killer is that is killing women, posing them and leaving a rose on their body.

He feels he has a chance now that Daisey was attacked and she managed to survive even if she can't remember who attacked her and left her for dead.

Can Daisey remember? Will the killer go after her again in case she does..

I yelled at Daisey, I cried with her and I cheered her on. Poor Daisey.

I am a big fan of Dan Riley, his character gets more depth with every book and I would so want him on my side if the need arose.

I will be at the front of the line for Book 5 in the series.

She does recall however, that her fiance cheated on her and left her for another woman. Her new friend and roommate, Iris, is helping her through her struggles as her memory starts to return.

This was the 4th in the DI Dan Reilly series the second that I have read. I have really liked both of the books I have read. I like the Dan character and I think the mysteries are interesting. I thought I sort of knew what was going on in this one, but there was no way I could have guessed this outcome. I look forward to the next in this series.

After a work event, Daisey goes home only to be attacked by what the public is calling The Rose Petal Ripper. Dan abandons the remainder of his paternity leave to return to his investigative team.
Upon her return home, Daisey takes on a roommate, Iris. They work together, around the same age and single.
Insight into the killer is shared - a young woman gives birth to twons. But Tracey becomes obsessed with her son - telling anyone who will listen he is evil.
This book sucked me in from the beginning but quickly lost my interest. Predictable.

The Woman Inside by Anna-Lou Weatherley is the fourth book in a series focused on Detective Dan Riley. Having previously enjoyed this series, I was anxious to jump aboard Riley's latest case, and what a ride it is. This is a series that, once started, will have you breathlessly awaiting the next installment.

Daisey Garrett is attacked in her own home but has little memory of the event after the fact. She does recall that her boyfriend Luke has left her to be with another woman. There have been other attacks on women in the area and Daisey, upon returning home after her ordeal, is on edge, knowing that her assailant is still at large and unable to slot the pieces into place of what really happened on the night of the attack. When a coworker, Iris, moves in, Daisey is grateful for the company, believing that her new roommate will help her to find the truth.

Told from the alternating timelines of 1987 and the present, we are shown a chilling and unsettling portrait of escalating evil, and it is up to Dan to solve a diabolical puzzle before there is more collateral damage.

This is an addictive read, and I loved the further development of Detective Riley's character, particularly that pertaining to his personal life. I am eagerly anticipating the continuation of this enjoyable and highly engaging series.

Normally enjoy books from this author but unfortunately this was nothing special for me and didn't really 'grab' me.

I wasn't keen on the characters either and found the whole book just a bit bland and lacking for me personally.

I really enjoyed this book and was engrossed in the plot very early. There were plenty of twists to keep me guessing who the killer was. Another great book by this author and one that I’d recommend,

Daisey Garrett is in the hospital, she is very lucky to have survived and be waking up. She remembers her boyfriend but she doesn’t remember what happened to her the other night when she was attacked in her own home.

Here is my review of this book. I enjoy this one, It was not a boring story but it was an average story that for sure. I liked it, but it didn't have a WOW factor for me. It was nothing special. The story was very written and well told. But it was just missing something for me.

I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. But I think it's a book where you just gotta read it to find out. I didn't like it but doesn't mean you will also.

OMG! I did not know what to expect when I read the title of this book, but most certainly not what I got. It was just sooo incredibly good!
I already knew that writing is so much more than just putting words on paper, but now, once again, I realise how much time authors invest in doing research in order to create even more amazing stories.
It’s true that I had some ideas in my head, but that does not bother me in the slightest. Discovering the why and how is very interesting too and seeing that what I thought was indeed correct is very satisfying.:)
Of course I wanted the culprit to be caught. Of course I wanted justice for the victims and their families, but sometimes I feel sorry for the baddie too.
In this book my heart bled for them. I know the actions are inexcusable, but nature can be very cruel too.
It was great to see Detective Dan Riley again and I am glad he has made some personal decisions as well. They were long overdue, but better late than never. 😊
I loved this book. It was like watching a flower unfurl its petals slowly but surely. 5 stars

I wasn't aware this is somehow a part of a series, though i didn't find it difficult to follow. Despite of sort of figuring out the twist early on I did enjoy reading the book till the end. My heart ached for that little poor boy no matter how messed up he was.
The writing style is engaging and the characters well built.
I'm looking forward to the next book and will seek the previous ones as well.

I am a huge fan of the Dan Riley books and love how he's developing as a character, devoured this in two days.

Dan finds himself in the centre of a very strange case, he attend the murder of Daisey Garrett, except it's it quite a murder, miraculously, she survives. Daisey is the third victim of similar attacks. The problem Dan has, is Daisey has amnesia.

Evidence is found linking Daisey's Ex, Luke to the crimes, but Daisey is sure he couldn't commit murder, if only she could remember what happened that night. At least she isn't alone though, her new flatmate Iris is there for moral support.

The story flits between present day and back to 1987 - 1997 and the story of twins, Rosie and Gareth, their mum insists something in wrong with Gareth and 'accidents' keep happening when he's around...

One of my favourite Sidney Sheldon books is called 'Tell Me Your Dreams' and although the plot is different there is the same underlying mental health issue, which requires so much research and accuracy, the author has done a great job with that issue.

Can't wait for the next Dan Riley instalment.

Daisey has split up from her partner Luke they had bought a flat together but he cheated on her with one of his students and moved in with her so Daisey goes on a night out with her work mates . they start taking about a women who worked at there store who was murdered Daisey has to much drink and wants to go home .Tommy does not want her to go on her own they share a cab .back at flat she tells Tommy to go . she pours a drink out turns up the music and then the doorbell goes .ds Lucy Davis and Detective Riley are called to the flat as Daisey s friend goes to pick her up for work and finds her but Daisey is not dead Riley finds a pulse i not saying no more but it is very very good.

The Woman Inside by Anna-Lou Weatherly is the fourth book in a series featuring DI Dan Riley. This was my first book by this author and it will not be my last. Daisy is going through a very difficult time after being dumped by her fiancé and then surviving a brutal attack that almost killed her. She can’t remember the night of the attack but is getting a few flashbacks of the night. Her new roommate is helping her get through these tough times, as is her friend Ros. Is she safe or will the attacker go after her again. Great thriller!

I really enjoyed this. Daisey Garrett is left for dead as the Rose Petal Ripper’s third victim but when DI Dan Riley arrives to view the scene he detects the faintest signs of life in Daisey. She survives without any disability but cannot remember anything from the day of the attack. This is very frustrating for the police as there is no evidence to be had from any of the crime scenes but surely, in surviving the attack, Daisey will have seen something to help police with their inquiries- if only she could remember what happened!

In the absence of any firm evidence the police focus their investigation on Warwick’s - the department store that both Daisey and one of the other victims worked at. Could the killer be working there too? It is like looking for a needle in a haystack though. The narrative is set largely in the present but there are also flashbacks from the 1980s. As the decade progresses the flashbacks become increasingly disturbing but you soon work out where things are heading.

Daisey turns out to be a feisty and strong young woman who fights back when she finds herself in danger again. I really should check these things - this is the fifth book in the Dan Riley series 😫 (and I hate reading out of order) but I had read the second book and enjoyed it also. My major gripe with the book is that I found it quite predictable and I knew who the killer was early on, but strangely it didn’t detract much from my enjoyment. I do read a lot of books like this so maybe it’s not surprising. Yet despite the lack of surprises for me I was still invested the story. Weatherley’s writing and vibrant characters were able to carry the plot successfully and I can recommend this book to crime, mystery and thriller fans. This is the fourth instalment in the DI Dan Riley series and in this one he and his team are on the hunt for a murderer dubbed ‘The Rose Petal Ripper’. The story is partly narrated by Dan, by Daisey a victim and backtracks to 1987 to fill in gaps in our understanding. This works well as the storyline flows seamlessly.

Well, if you are half asleep when starting this book you’ll rapidly be jolted awake and become immersed in the plot! The premise is good, I really like the psychological aspects of the storyline both in Daisey and in the perpetrator. There are parts of the book that are chilling and you sense the fear and apprehension especially in the sections from the 1980’s. Although there are some clues in the direction the plot is taking that doesn’t detract from the enjoyment as it gets intriguingly weird. However, I do think apprehending the murderer is a a bit too drawn out and so loses some impact. I really like the characters especially Dan Riley. He’s a well developed character and has a very likeable personality, I especially like his wry self deprecating approach and his following his gut instincts. I’m always partial to a fictional lead detective who goes out on a limb! I like the end and it gives hope for a more settled and happier life for him. DCI Archer is an interesting character but I would like more development of DS Lucy Davis as she didn’t come across very strongly in this.

Overall, an enjoyable read with tension and suspense and good twists. I’m looking forward to the next one!
