This was a tough book to get through for me. There was too much narration and not a lot of dialogue which I personally prefer. Also, there were several sections that weren’t entirely clear or didn’t make sense. It seemed like there were several holes that could have used filling in the story. Sometimes I wasn’t even sure whose POV I was hearing and I read every single word. A little too confusing to enjoy. |
Fantastic read. Stirs up a whole load of emotions in you. The plot was great. Lots of twists and turns to keep you reading. The book was very well written. |

Quick romantic read with a bit of mystery thrown in. Two drifters come to stay for Christmas, both handsome and sexy but which one is for real? |
The blurb tells you there is a plot—but there is no mystery here—it can’t be more obvious. The main character, Eve, is twenty-five and horny. It’s nearing Christmas and one of the two drifters (not Montana cowboys) they’ve taken in for the holidays is yanking her chain. The other would like to. She and her family have a deer ranch—and bison--near the Canadian border. There are so many contradictions, omissions, edit misses and plot holes, I was constantly trying to “fix” as I went along. Some of the descriptions of the area pull you in, then throw you right back out with another inconsistency. It’s a tell not show and dialogue is weak. Eve is petulant, scattered, and clumsy. Most characters are one-dimensional. The conclusion makes little sense and the narrative appears to be a vehicle for the graphic sex scene. The whole thing would have benefited from several more editors. |
I'm struggling to rate this book. I liked the main characters, however I felt the other characters were underdeveloped and the relationships and actions of the family a bit strange. I liked the overall plot, but felt in lacked detail and description in places.. For me the main problem. Was the writing.. I felt there was repetition in phrases and in many places it was confusing where characters were and what day it was. I found it confusing in places and had to re read a few pages back to make sure I hadn't missed something. I would have liked more detail about the brothers injury, the fathers outcome and the mothers injury etc I would be rating 2 stars were it not for the fact I like Eve and Archer and the chemistry between them. |
Snow on the Range by Sofia Aves is A Red Hart Ranch Christmas Special, and my first book by this author. I found this book to be a quick read, but I wanted more details. I found the parents behavior to be a little strange, why no hospital for the dad, the brother was taken there right away. I just thought this book could be more, especially since it's the first book in the Red Hart Ranch series. I will try this author again. Why not read this book and see what you think, plenty of people seemed to love it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. |

An entertaining and well written romantic suspense. Great plot and character dynamics. The Montana setting is so well described I felt I was there. I highly recommend this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review. |

This is a exciting suspense filled thriller with romance too.The story will pull you in and have you on the edge of your seat. The characters are captivating.Avie and her twin go into town for supplies for their holiday upcoming dinner. They always have a big dinner for the cowboys that don't go home for the holidays.Eve comes back with a drifter to have dinner and maybe interested in working for a while her twin brother also comes home with a drifter.Eve shouldn't be attracted to a man she knows nothing about but something draws her to Rhys. This story is full of mystery and suspense. The chemistry between the drifter Rhys and Evil is smoking hot an off the charts.will they take advantage of their attraction? When Rhys secret is revealed will that be the end of their chance of happiness.?There are so many twists an turns to this story you will be riveted til the very last page an leave you begging for more. I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes an you can feel their emotions an their pain. |

A lot of people have given high reviews on this one, so I must be missing something. Tried by picking it up three different times and struggled to read far or get into the characters. Not sure what the issue was, but finally threw in the towel on this one. |

Snow on the Range: A Red Hart Ranch Christmas Special by Sofia Aves Publisher: Little Quail Press Genre: General Fiction (Adult) | Mystery & Thrillers | Romance Release Date: December 1, 2020 Snow on the Range is the first book in the Red Hart Ranch books by Sofia Aves (and I hope there are a lot more coming!) I really enjoyed this romance. It had a great pace to it and took place over Christmas, so it was neat to hear about ranch Christmas traditions. I loved the characters (strong female lead!) and that there was some mystery added to the story. The romance is steamy (NSFW)...WOW! Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about Eve in the future. I could not put this book down! I'm so grateful to Sofia Aves, Little Quail Press, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review. |
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers. Snow on the Range is a romance with a suspenseful thriller element. Eve and Travis are twins and will one day be heirs to their home - Red Hart Ranch. Upon a trip into town to collect supplies, both twins meet drifters and offer them a place to stay in exchange for work over Christmas. All is well until strange accidents keep occurring around the ranch. An Eve possibly has been drugged, but by who? When Eve is hurt, who can she really trust? This is a great romance and kept me reading on with the thriller element. I will definitely be looking for the other books in this series too! |
Okay i wanna say it is me!! i literally wanted to love this book, the cover and the description sold me but when reading it i kinda fell into a slump or something. I made it 40% through and half the time i felt like dosing off which in this case i have DNF'd the book, again possibly might be me as i have seen many many good reviews about this book. However i do not think this one was for me. |

I enjoyed this book. It had romance, intrigue and mystery on a ranch. While the title descries it as a Christmas novel, it is a novel that takes place around Christmas but I would not say it is a "Christmas" novel. I liked the characters and plot and I would look to read other things by this writer. I received a copy from Net Galley. My opinion and review is honest and voluntary. |

Eve and her twin run Red Hart Ranch, when they both go into town for supplies for Christmas they both bring home a stranger for Christmas. With a big snowstorm coming in they are trying to get things done before it hits, when mysterious accidents start happening on the ranch. Could the strangers have anything to do with it? I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own |
I requested this book on NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. When I requested this book, I was in the mood for some fun, Christmas-y romance. And I definitely got that in spades! Plus, some twisty mysteries! I didn’t expect to fall in love with Red Hart Ranch as much as I did. But I felt like I was a part of it as I was reading. It was so, so easy to get caught up in all the hustle and bustle of the ranch, and the goings on. I felt what Eve felt, and I was with her every step of the way – even when some of those steps were heartbreaking, painful, and excruciating. I wish we’d seen more of Eve’s friendship and banter with Suzy. I loved it from the get-go! And in a way, Suzy set the whole thing in motion. Rhys Archer carried his cards close to his chest, and that drove both me, and Eve, crazy. What was this man up to? Where had he come from? Who was he? But he wasn’t the only new one on the Ranch. Simon was also a mystery that needed to be solved. However, it was only Archer that caught’s Eve’s attention. Seeing the magic of Christmas light up the Ranch, and solving the double mystery was a lot of fun to read. I couldn’t put this book down when I started it! I couldn’t even bring myself to refresh my glass of wine! I really liked the dark, intense moments of this book intermingled with the sweet, soft, fluffy, magic of Christmas. I look forward to reading more of this series as it continues! |
A brilliant book - full of Christmassy feelings while still having a mystery and romance. I really couldn't put it down. When two strangers arrive to help out at Red Hart Ranch, you sort of know that this will lead to something - good or bad! However, you really don't know who to believe as we follow Eve Beaumont as she tried to run the ranch. Full of snow, beautifully described views, cowboys, romance and danger - I can't wait to read more from Ms Aves. Also a delightful selection of recipes at the end to try. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley |
Great book! I was hooked from the start, thank you so much for providing me a copy of this book to read. This is something I would love to purchase. |
Thank you NetGalley, Little Quail Press and Sofia Aves fr gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion! I’ve been on a romance kick for months, but I was craving something a little different. I was getting kinda sick of the sappy and sweet romances and a suspenseful romance was exactly what I needed! Eve Beaumont and her brother Trav are both home for Christmas. Their family ranch, the Red Hart Ranch, has always had an open-door policy for those who needed a safe place to and this Christmas nothing has changed. One day Eve and Trav end up each bringing home a man in need of shelter. One is Rhys Archer, handsome and rough around the edges, he’s exactly what I would want in a cowboy. He fits the tall, dark and handsome cliche to a T, but he’s not into games and he’s a straight shooter. YUM. The second man is Simon Heldon. Unlike Archer, Simon is a flirt, quick to use his words and his body to charm everyone and anyone. When accidents start to take place around the ranch, the two house guests are quickly under suspicion. Both men came to Red Hart Ranch with secrets and pasts they wanted to leave behind, but which one brought their problems with them? This was such an easy read that had me engrossed from the beginning@ I really liked Eve and I was REALLy hoping she ended up with Archer. I won’t give away who she chooses, though! There was the perfect blend of drama and love to keep me, a primarily romance reader, interested and invested! |
