I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I love a good accidental pregnancy story and this book did not disappoint. It had a sweet and charming heroine, a sexy protective hero, a night of passion ending in a surprise pregnancy and even a bit of mystery to add to all the fun.

I loved that Amelia was a burst of sunshine and always found the positive in any situation. This included her surprise pregnancy resulting from her first and only one night stand. Max is everything you want in a hero. He treated Amelia with caring and kindness all while being a protective alpha man.

The mystery of who was trying to ruin Amelia was a nice twist that kept me eager to turn the page and see who it was. Not to mention the descriptions of all the amazing baked goods left me hungry for something sweet.

Overall it was a delightful holiday story that brought many smiles to my face and left me in good spirits!

The SEAL's Pregnant Christmas Lover is a heart-warming story about two people who fall in love against all odds. Max (a tough Navy SEAL) and Amelia (a down-to-earth baker) meet at a bar and after what seems like a one night stand, Amelia discovers that Max got her pregnant. Amelia assumed that she would never meet Max again and ultimately have to raise their baby by herself, until one day he happened to walk into Sweet Cheeks, her bakery, and they meet again. Over the next few weeks Amelia has to deal with the fact that some unknown culprit is clearly trying to destroy her livelihood, all the while she is falling farther and farther for Max. While the two try to pin down the villain, they become closer and their love starts to blossom.

I'm going to be honest and say that I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would. Amelia and Max seemed like a very unlikely pair but they ultimately ended up being a perfect match! Their witty banter and obvious chemistry made the story very heart-warming and enjoyable. Add in the mystery element, and the suspense surrounding the attacks on the bakery and this story is the perfect winter read. I was able to figure out who the villain was about halfway through the story so that was a bit disappointing, but I'm normally good about that so it's not too big a deal! I would definitely recommend this story to anyone who enjoys light romance in a wintery setting, with a bit of suspense involved.

I received an advanced reader's copy of The SEAL's Pregnant Christmas Lover by Katie Knight and Leslie North from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was the first book by Katie Knight or Leslie North that I had read and I was pleasantly surprised to find two enjoyable new authors to follow.

The Good: The storyline was interesting and the characters were well written. I quite liked the dynamic and chemistry between our protagonists - bakery owner, Amelia Cafferty, and Navy SEAL, Maxwell Bloom. Their interactions with one another and with secondary characters were well constructed and had depth/layers.

The Not-So-Good: The pacing of the ending action/plot conclusion was a bit uneven.

Overall though, I thought this novel was fun to read.

Excellent story with an awful cover and title. This story has it all, mystery, drama, angst, romance and steam. Quick, easy interesting read. Add to your TBR list, don’t let the title and cover put you off.

The SEAL's Pregnant Christmas Lover
by Katie Knight and Leslie North

Amelia has just moved to a small town and opened her own bakery but the only downside is there is already a family run bakery in the town and there is a bit of malicious gossip going about her bakery. Amelia is a bit down and whilst out for a drink to cheer herself up she meets Max and they have a one night stand unbeknown to her he is the son of the other bakery owner.

A fast moving story with crime thrown into the mix along with romance . A great read to curl up on the sofa with.

Leslie North consistently brings great characters and passionate romance to life. As a big fan of North's, her name provokes an automatic one-click from me. I am always entertained. Highly recommend.

A lot of my favorite plots in one book. I love restaurant competitors, soldiers, holiday and expecting baby type books. They are all here. Plus as a bonus a bad guy that Max has to protect Amelia and his unborn baby from. I really enjoyed reading, The Seal's Pregnant Christmas Lover.

Amelia is the owner of a bakery and the Bloom family's new competition. When she meets Maxwell Bloom at a Halloween bash sparks fly. A one night stand leads to a surprise pregnancy with her rival's only son. But that is the least of her problems. Someone wants her business to fail and ultimately will try anything to get rid of her.

I enjoyed this book very much. Amelia is a strong, endearing character. Max is a good guy. There were parts of the story when Max was a beta hero, which is fine, but not a typical SEAL-type. It confused me a bit when the author kept flip-flopping between beta and alpha traits. SEALs are typically alpha so some readers may not like the beta qualities. I liked most the secondary characters and the friendship between them. Max's mom was probably my favorite, though Laurie was great too. Even the ones you'd love to hate like Kelly had their charm. The antagonist was easy to figure out, but I enjoyed the suspense. There were a few times when I think the author could have fleshed out some of the clues better. One example would Amelia figuring out the antagonist at the Bloom's house. It felt glossed over instead of a full scene with action and emotion. Overall, The SEAL's Pregnant Christmas Lover was a fun read and one I'd recommend for this holiday season.
