I really enjoyed this one! I've never read anything from this author and I thought it was great! The book was twisty, hooking, and overall very interesting. This domestic thriller I think will be one of the best ones in 2021, the main character is cunning and well developed. The first part of the book was strong and great, the second I felt wasn't as interesting as the first part! Still a great book and overall very much enjoyed it!

3☆ A Good Read.

When I read the blurb for The Newlyweds I was really eager to read it. I adore a good thriller especially ones that have a psychological edge to it.
However for me it just lacked that thriller edge i was expecting.

There is alot of twists and characters within the book and at times I did have to back track a bit to make sure I was following.

The start was really gripping and I quickly became enthralled but then for me nearly half way through it started to lack the initial unease I felt at the start.

The Newlyweds for me was more like a domestic drama with a lot of twists.
It did have alot of potential but just wasn't gripping enough for me. I will however give the Authors other books a read.

Vivian meets Ashton at the local country club and they are soon married and on the outside it is a perfect marriage.But Vivian has an ulterior motive to marry Ashton and all will be revealed in this very good psychological thriller,it is a story which kept me gripped throughout the book particularly after the shocking revelation half way through,and the twists and turns kept coming right up until the end in this 5 star thriller of a book.A great read to finish my book reading for the year!!

i so enjoyed this story very twisty and very addictive .Vivien finally gets the man of her dreams Ashton she has everything a rich powerful man and the life she has always wanted ,she has the big fairy tale wedding Ashton s mother is in a nursing home and Vivien visits but all is not what it seems with her mother in law ,Vivien works at community promise where she meets and try s to help a young girl . Vivien starts to get bruises and people are noticing wont say no more but the plot is so good

This truly was a fast paced thriller! I had to go back and reread at times to get myself reacquainted with what was going on. Enjoyed this one a lot!

The Newlyweds is a story about newly married couple, Ashton and Vivien who live in a beautiful grand mansion on a South Carolinian island. They are seemingly the perfect couple, the envy of all their friends. But like most perfect looking couples, all is not as it seems.

I enjoyed this story. Lots of surprises and twist. Was a little slow in the middle but when it picked up, boy did it pick up!

The Newlyweds by Arianne Richmonde is a psychological thriller. It follows the story of a newly married couple, Ashton and Viviene. They seem to have it all, great relationship, perfect home, jobs, friends but things definitely aren't as they seem.

The book was slow to start off with but it picked up some pace and kept me intrigued. I enjoyed reading the twists and turns and wanted to find out what was going to happen next. I also did not know what character to dislike more throughout reading the book. I kept changing my mind every few chapters.

The book is full of dark twists and turns with deceit being the winner. It's amazing what some people will do for revenge. Revenge is a dish served cold.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy of The Newlyweds. This book was full of bitterness and hatred. ALL the characters were unlikable. Very many plot twists which made you never know who was the culprit. The second half of the book is way more interesting, the first half I was confused why the main character acted the way they did. I’m sorry to say that I was happy when the book ended.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I realised all wasn’t as it seemed after the first few pages, but nothing prepared me for the super twists within the story. It kept me on tenterhooks and kept me wanting more.

The Newlyweds by Arianne Richmonde. Though the premise was interesting, the story was packed with so many shocking random events the story line was unrealistic. The characters were not at all likable and it was difficult to be interested their stories. Readers who enjoy intense and twisty domestic family dramas will most likely enjoy the book.

The cover and premise prompted me to request and read this, but do not waste your time. This was hardly thrilling and there were too many twists to the point it was not believable. I do always like the idea of a character posing at someone else but most of the characters in this book were no likeable at all. This was just in the mediocre category of books I have read this year for thrillers, smh, Disappointing. Cannot recommend this.

Wow this is one messed up couple and a really dark and disturbing read which I love. If you love Gone Girl and similar type books then this is one for you. This book goes to show you never know what’s really going on in a marriage and sometimes the truth is even darker than you could possibly imagine.

I really enjoyed this book. All the twists made my head jerk. I kind of felt sorry for Ashton, but every time I did I reminded myself what he did to her. I had a lot of mixed emotion about the characters in the book. One chapter I like them the next chapter I didn't. This is the kind of book I enjoy reading, where you don't know what is going to happen next.

This book was a suspenseful page-turner with a lot of unexpected twists! However, there were too many twists to seem believable, and some were completely unrealistic. I think if the author had focused on a few quality twists rather than going for quantity of twists, it would have improved this book.

This book started off well for me but then I began to lose interest in the characters who I was not altogether keen on. By about halfway through I got bored and for me personally it wasn't a page turner and I was glad when I had got to the end.

I love reading psychological thrillers, especially when there’s people posing as someone else, but this book didn’t hold my attention. I really liked the beginning, but then it fell flat. I did make it to the end, but didn’t love the ending either. The characters were well developed but so unlikable.

This book wasn't what I expected. It started with a bang, but seemed to go downhill from there. I found it quite slow in parts, and It kept losing my interest. Unfortunately this one wasn't for me.

Even before her glamorous wedding, Vivian knew she would feel out of place. After marrying successful neurosurgeon Ashton and living in a big mansion - Vivian followed all of the "southern ways". She cared so much about fitting in - becoming anxious when she wasn't suitable enough among those in her life. Her parents had died and Ashton's mother was in a care home. Yet, he never visited her...

After all, to her, it was a "half-marriage"...

Good story with excellent characterization.

Now that I have finished, and written my review for The Newlyweds I have had a look at the other reviews and I feel like we read a different book.
For me there wasn’t any hook at the beginning of the book, none of the characters were likeable and it was more of a slog than an enjoyable read for me.
Looking at the other reviews maybe I have it all wrong but the above is my honest opinion and that is what NetGalley, the author and the publisher asked for when they gifted me this ARC.

This book is Ruth Ware meets Mary Alice Monroe! The thrills of Ware and the southern charm of Monroe.

Ashton and his wife, Vivien, have only been married for a short time. Appearances can be deceiving though. As the story unfolds, Vivien seems to have it all married to a neurosurgeon. Ashton appears to have a sweet wife that loves him and volunteers in the community. However, secrets are everywhere! Then Cady enters the picture. Without giving too much away, let me just say this is a MUST READ!

I haven't read anything by this author but I will now. If you love thrillers, this needs to be on your to read list.
