This was an interesting book. I thought the information presented was well laid out and flowed well. I really enjoyed reading it and want to try and start implementing some of what I read.

I was granted complimentary access to Embrace Your Wobbles via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was just getting into making yoga part of my routine when this book came up on NetGalley, so I thought why not, let's see what this is about. I'm glad I did! Embrace Your Wobbles is an uplifting collection of essays that teaches the virtues of a yoga lifestyle, but not necessarily exclusively within the bounds of yoga practise. It's full of great advice, a healthy dose of humour, and some different perspectives you might never have considered before.

People who practice yoga always seem so calming and sure, this book proves they have 'wobbles ' just like all of us!
I found it quite an enlightening read that I will certainly be reading over again.
A good book for dipping into to time and time again.
Thank you netgalley

This is a thought-provoking book to take your time with. Shumway has gathered essays from a good number of people, and you can pick and choose which ones you want to read or you can read the book from cover to cover. She takes the concept of “wobbles” and relates them both to yoga practice and the rest of life. Embracing your wobbles on the mat means relaxing and not worrying about perfection. It reminded me of when I learned to ski many years ago - I was told that if I found myself falling, to just let myself fall, that I’d be unlikely to hurt myself if I just let go and let myself fall. It was good advice then and it’s good advice now.

As a long time practitioner, but very recently certified teacher of yoga this book was just what I needed. These essays all have beautiful and uplifting messages. They remind us that letting go is important and that we need those occasion wobbles to learn and grow.

This is actually a collection of essays by a wide variety of authors.

I really liked the overall theme of this book. I've never ready a yoga book before, so this was a great place to start. A few of my notes at the bottom are my self reminders on things to investigate. Please note that my reviews often aren't really a review, they are more like my cliff notes that I take while reading books. Also, I received a free copy of this book from https://www.netgalley.com/

Yoga reminds us that as we strive for balance on the mat and in our lives, we're bound to wobble and that's ok. That wobbles in yoga and life are something we can learn and grow from.

Don't run. Don't resist your reality. Embrace it. Embrace the wobble.

"Open your eyes. You are struggling without knowing where you are going", she said

Being wobbly is sexy, because it means you're willing to go someplace that is uncertain and that's so much more wonderful than being afraid to move out of your comfort zone

Shifting the nature of my inner dialogue from critical to compassionate.

Finding equilibrium - that steady place between effort and surrender

On and off the mat, understanding when support is needed and asking for it or accepting it when it is offered may be helpful.

Look-up:

Muni Natarajan - drumming and chanting.

I found this book to be very enlightening when it comes to facing my wobbles on the mat. I have practiced yoga for years, off and on unfortunately, and considered myself still a beginner. This book offered inspiration. It’s like a book of essays written by many people telling their own stories and experiences. I wouldn’t say it’s a book to read from start to finish, but more like a book to read one article daily or so, for added inspiration to your yoga practice.

Embrace your Wobbles is the Chicken Noodle Soup for your Yoga soul. Easy and entertaining to read. A seasoned yoga practitioner or someone who hasn't found their flow on the mat will enjoy the essays. The collection of stories offers both advice and wisdom about how a yoga practice supports every part of the human being and reading them you will find the warm spark to roll out your mat!
