I continue to be in awe of how incredible - and inclusive- Chloe Liese's novels are! I absolutely love being able to revisit the world of the Bergmans and the unique family dynamic they all share.

Ever After Always is an extra spicy slow-burn marriage in crisis contemporary romance novel that really digs deep into what happens in a marriage of almost 10 years. I found the story to be a raw and vulnerable
look into what could happen when two people stop communicating. There were also elements in the story that made it interesting.

The best parts of reading a series is when the previous characters return! And since they are a family, they return in the story quite often. While it can be standalone, it's better to read in order so you can really appreciate these moments!

Liese's writing keeps the pages turning and keeps the reader intrigued! There are funny parts but also very serious parts, and she is talented in finding the balance between those extremes!

This is a series I recommend to everyone, and I'm looking forward to the next book!

Thank you to the author for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This installment of the Bergman Brothers follows the eldest sibling Freya and her marriage crisis with husband Aiden, who suffers from anxiety disorder. This was a change up from the usual romcom I like to read with the couple already being in a relationship however the book was well written, heartwarming and emotional. I was also happy to reconnect with characters from her two previous books and can't wait for the next book.⁣

Are you ready to read some hard truths about marriage? If not, then you need to read about it anyway.
After finishing Ever After Always, I realize that marriage is some hard work. It takes time and dedication in maintaining a marriage. There will always be bumps in the road. No Marriage is perfect just like Adien and Freya marriage.
I know that the Bergman family may be worried when they notice that Freya is becoming unhappy with her marriage. But it's up to Aiden and Freya to work out. They may need a little push from their family but all in all, it's them to make it work.
And there are some hard truths coming out when Aiden and Freya start to work on their marriage. It may hurt them but it's time to say it and face it. I truly enjoyed that Aiden and Freya were working it together but there were times that Freya really pissed me off. I am sorry to say but oh my goodnesses. I just could not handle her.  That was the only reason that I took a star away because I really could not handle Freya's attitude. Like Aiden is trying his best to make the world for you but you are not understanding why he is making it. He has told you before of his struggles that is why is trying his hardest to make sure you guys are stable. Like stop with your attitude. Sorry for my little rant but I could not handle her attitude at times. But Aiden and Freya are meant for each other. They may have gotten a little lost but that happens when you are continuing on growing. You just need to find yourself together again.

The story of Freya and Aiden is the “after” story. Been together for almost 10 years, their story gives you the most raw, honest, vulnerable definition of true love.

True to Chloe’s exceptional talent in storytelling, I love how she brings the readers to the ups and downs of Freya and Aiden’s love rollercoaster. There were parts of the story that made you think of your own (if you’re married). I love how she involves every character to the story. Though it deals with serious, sensitive and sometimes hurtful truth of marriage, the supporting characters brings some light and humor to the story. I love that about her storytelling style.

After I finished the book, I felt like I had a crash course of marriage handbook or a fun way of doing marriage counseling. I also love that Chloe is throwing some thoughtful insights about love and marriage.

To say that I enjoyed this book is the least way I could described it. I love every bit of it. In fact, I became a huge fan of Chloe. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. 💕

"People who's love lasts, whose love grows and endures, choose each other in the unhappily ever after, the dark moments, not just the dazzling ones."

I loved this book and writing this review was especially hard because, I had so much to say and my draft just getting bigger and bigger, so I hope you’ll bear with me.

Freya and Aiden are at a crossroads in their marriage, their relationship is deteriorating and they need to decide if it’s still worth fighting for. It is so clear how much these two love each other, but after communicating poorly for months and letting the distance between them grow, getting back on track seems impossibly difficult. A surprise family vacation comes along, giving an opportunity for Freya and Aiden to rekindle their connection – if the Bergman brothers would just stop meddling!

This story was so rich with emotions – I laughed and cried, there’s angst, fun, surprise reveals, family bonding and lots of healing. You learn the importance of growing and healing as couple, and how self care is also essential. Freya and Aiden are both amazing people and it was hard to see them hurt so much, especially when the love was still there and there was so much effort into trying to do right by the other person. I really appreciated how their marriage was portrayed, because despite how wonderful their relationship had been up until now, and how good their intentions were, Chloe Liese did not sugar coat it. It was as hard for them as it is for anyone else in the real world, they had to do the work and the path to healing wasn’t linear and smooth sailing. But all the bumps in the road just made it that much special and the foundation of their marriage came out stronger.

Ok, enough with the heavy talk, now with the fun part: we have men reading historical romances to figure their stuff out and quoting the queen, Lisa Kleypas! Seriously, I totally freaked out! There is also some well deserved emphasis on the importance of grovelling – I will never understand why grovelling is so underrated. All of this wise advice comes from the man cub, Viggo – he is my hero, the dude knows what’s up, he really made a difference in this story and brought out the fun and chaos of the amazing Bergman brothers.

As always I need to compliment Chloe’s talent as writer – I’m always so impressed by her writing style, and I feel that whenever I try explain why I never do it justice. With this book, I might have gotten a little closer to the reason and it really is pretty simple… Chloe’s writing is intelligent. The dialogue between the characters is smart and has so much depth. The characters are complex and sound like real people. She has an incredible ability of translating feelings into words in a clear way and capturing the nuances of relationships.

I would highly recommend this book (actually, all of the books in the Bergman series), and I just have to say I cannot freaking wait for Axel & Rooney, I’ve been waiting for them for so long!!

I accidentally read the second book before reading the first, but I am glad I did because it got me into the series more than the first one had! This is the third, but not final one of the series, and it was definitely my favorite. One of the reasons this may be is because I felt I could relate more to these characters.

Once again Chloe does an amazing job writing about people with disabilities that are sometimes invisible but not impossible to love. I also loved how in this book it wasn’t the female who struggled with the anxiety disorder, but the male, which is different from most books with this same representation.

On top of the beautiful representation and amazing connections within the book, Chloe does not forget to add a little tension and steam to spice things up.

I am excited to see where the next book takes us, and highly recommend this book especially to people who are in a relationship that deals with anxiety.

4.5 stars
-this is the third installment in the Bergman's brothers serie and it was just like the first two a pure delight of a romance
-marriage in trouble trope with a great couple, i like that you can tell from the start that they're gonna pull through but they will have to work for it
- they were both so in love with each other but i felt each of them had very valid reasons for being distant and making mistakes
- the anxiety rep is pretty exceptionnal but i was not surprised since Chloe Liese truly is the best author in my opinion regarding mental illness and physical disabilities representation
- i love the Bergman family and i can't wait to read more about their romances
-this is truly a wonderful serie that is full of love, the romances are always realtisic, emotionnal and so romantic
-also sidenote but that cover is litterally everything to me, the body representation with Freya in a bathing suit with her little tummy showing gives me life

tags: m/f relationship, marriage in crisis trope, severe anxiety representation, meddlesome but loving family, couple in counseling, so much love and romantic moments, some good steam thrown in, anxiety resulting in sexual problems with low sex drive rep
content warning: depiction of anxiety attacks and thought procces of a person with severe anxiety spiraling, abandonment issues, talk of poverty

3.5 stars for me

This was my first read from this author and it definitely won’t be my last. She writes beautiful dialogue and her characters feel very genuine. I came in on book 3 of the series but didn’t feel lost.

It’s a honest & believable look at a marriage in crisis. All the mess, pain and regrets. I really liked Aiden’s character and think I would have given an even higher rating if I connected more with Freya.

Special mention to the male characters reading romance books. It brought a smile to my face.

I keep coming back to Chloe Liese’s work because she writes romances featuring mental health and disability rep. In Ever Always After, we have anxiety and body rep. I appreciate that she begins this novel with a sensitivity note and as with the rest of the Bergman Brothers books, you get a playlist too.
Now, I need to begin by saying the ‘marriage in flames’ trope is probably my least favorite of all romance tropes, however, I think this is one of my favorite within this trope yet. I did receive an ARC via NetGalley, but this a book I would have purchased regardless.
I’d put this romance in the slow burn category, but I kinda felt like the tension was more emotional than romantic or sexual which wasn’t as enjoyable for me. It made the book a tad slower than I would have liked.
I did love how we got to know the rest of the Bergmans. It’s always nice seeing romances where the family is present, and the couple doesn’t exist in a bubble. Between an explicit parrot, Esmerelda, and brotherly pranks there’s lots of humor and good family vibes.
Aiden and Freya are clearly in love. That’s not their problem. If you haven’t read the first two books, I recommend you do before diving into this one, that said, we already know Aiden spends too much time working and Freya’s had it. Freya wanted a baby at first, but now she just wants the man she married back. Aiden’s a fixer. He wants to make everything perfect but manages to lose focus on his marriage because of it. Liese approached these are common themes in a sensitive and careful way that’s almost like therapy for the reader, considering both sides of their issues and even affirming the fact that sometimes performance and mental health are linked. It's nice to have the romance hero stereotype defied.

Ever After Always follows a married couple, Aiden and Freya. Freya is the sister of Ryder and Ren. I really have fallen in love with this family and these characters so I was very excited for this marriage in crisis romance. Aiden has anxiety and comes from a difficult past which is largely discussed in the book. Freya is plus sized which is only mentioned a couple of times but I love to see plus sized heroines on the cover of romance novels!! This book was slow moving and more serious than the others and wow I loved it. There is so much discussion about love and relationships and marriage. The couple goes to counselling and I love to see that. I also loved how there was more of the Bergman family. I loved how one of the brothers reads romance novels and gives one to Aiden to read. This story was just so heart warming and I really enjoyed it.

Ever After Always is Chloe Liese’s latest book about the Bergman siblings and it features the eldest of them all, Freya and Aiden. They’ve been together for 12 years and married for nearly 10 but what was once a relationship that was nearly perfect, it seems the marriage is starting to show some tears. Now Aiden and Freya must go down an unfamiliar path in their relationship if they want to make it work.
Ever Always After is not your typical romance, here boy and girl are supposed to be living the happily ever after and for awhile they were but real life problems starts testing the boundaries of what they thought was an unbreakable bond. This is one of the most heartbreaking and funny and very real depiction of the breaking point of a marriage. That even despite the love, one needs to really work for it and not just expect for it to be fine because the love is still there. Marriage requires effort to maintain and its the love one has for each other that makes you have the energy to do it. I love how Ms. Liese just tackled how easy it is to lose a marriage and how hard it is to maintain it but its also one of the most rewarding work you can ever achieve. Freya and Aiden are imperfect people who loves each other commits to each other everyday. Great romance!

Elevator Pitch: Aiden and Freya have been married for almost a decade and find their once happy marriage slipping away from them. Through fraught confrontations and a family trip, they try to heal what has been broken.

Review: This was an emotional ride. I haven't read the other books in the series and don't think it's a necessity to have done so (though it will probably be helpful in understanding the family dynamics - which I found a little confusing. The brothers characterisation all kind of blended to me as well). Aiden and Freya were very easy to root for and I found myself very invested in their relationship. A few tears were shed! I did find it a little overlong and the dialogue trite at times but overall it's a nice grown-up tale about keeping a relationship strong as opposed to most romance books that focus on the beginnings of a relationship. I'm intrigued to read the rest of the books in the series.

Loved. Loved. Loved. I don't even know where to begin with this one, it was just that good. No, I didn't read the previous two in this series and now I am very much regretting that (I will be going back). However, in my opinion, this can be read easily as a stand alone.

Freya and Aiden have been married over ten years and until now it's been a relatively easy marriage. But as work pressure increases for Aiden, it affects his anxiety disorder and he can't communicate with Freya. The two find themselves unable to conceive a baby, all of the issues impacting their marriage until it begins to crumble. Now for Freya's parents wedding anniversary the family have planned a holiday in Hawaii all together and the timing could not be worse.

While this is a brief summary of the story there is so much more to it. Freya's brothers and family lending their support, along with the hilarious moments sprinkled throughout, balancing the more serious topics. The emotional aspect of this one really has you rooting for the couple and there is also some steam. From being married for over 10 years, I know it's not all rainbows and unicorns and this was such a realistic portrayal of relationships. Brilliant.

All the stars for this one and it may well be one of my favourites this year. I cannot wait to read more by this author.

I have loved Chloe Liese's books ever since reading the first two Bergman Brothers books last year.
This one is a Bergman Sisters book and it is a bit of a different romance as it focuses on Freya and Aiden's marriage that is in crisis.
Freya is the sassy oldest Bergman sibling and after being married to Aiden for almost 10 years, their marriage is hitting a very rough patch with no intimacy or communication. Aiden is the professor we saw set up Ryder and Willa in the first book and he's known for being a bit of a romance matchmaker. Unfortunately his anxiety and worries about being prepared for a future family has meant that he's shut down the communication and openness of his relationship with Freya.
After a hard shove from the loveable Bergman clan, Aiden and Freya begin a slow journey to repairing their relationship with counselling and a family trip to Hawaii.
This is a book that many readers will be able to relate to more than the happy ever after swept off your feet romances. This is a romance about true life struggles after the honeymoon faze and what needs to be done to keep them intact. This book tackles so many issues from anxiety to poverty to alcoholism and how they shape our lives. I love that Chloe always has characters that are real and suffer from things that aren't written about in romance novels.
Thanks to Netgalley.com and Chloe Liese for my complimentary eARC copy.

I appreciated the last book of this series with Ren and Frankie but when it came to the solid couple, Aiden and Freya, my heart just melted so hard.

In some stories marriage is the end but in this one it’s only the beginning. After a decade being that strong couple who people rely on, Aiden and Freya would face some tough times and test their relationship.
A marriage in crisis with a strong hint of slow burn and angst.

Aiden and Freya had always a powerful chemistry and complicity, supportive and caring and their relationship was slowly drifting away, almost reaching the point of no return. In their journey to find their way back to the other, it would bring these two to put all the cards on the table, seeing the two sides how things got so hard for them to tell the truth to the other, to reveal their insecurities and downs.

Count on the Bergman family to remind them how strong they were, how they can fight this if they were willing to take a chance and not give up. Aiden felt hopeless and Freya had no hope. Their struggles broke my heart, as somehow as individuals losing some part of themselves along the way and consequently breaking apart.

I was rooting for these two during this battle, heartbreaking and emotional journey. It wasn’t easy and some truth needed to be told. I appreciated at times how you could see how great they were together, loving deeply and fiercely. I enjoyed some parts of lightness balancing greatly with the heavy times, proving that they couldn’t give up and fighting as a team, as partners.

You could sense all the love they had for the other, how hard it was to see your soulmate suffer and some parts could resonate with the readers making me more connected to them.

The author explored the complexity and difficulties of marriage or long term relationships with their ups and downs and dealing with mental health as well. A poignant and beautiful story, filled with so much love, genuine and honest.

Ever After Always is a Bergman Sister Novel, focusing on Freya and her husband Aiden. Just shy of their 10th wedding anniversary, Freya and Aiden's marriage is in crisis. Enter the meddling (but well meaning) Bergman brothers, a Bergman family vacation to Hawaii and some serious work on their relationship. This story is emotional and moving, yet has so many funny and light-hearted (and a few steamy!) moments as well.

Like all of her other novels, Chloe has done an amazing job of writing real and relatable characters. Aiden lives with generalized anxiety disorder. As someone who also suffers from anxiety, I could really see my own thought processes and communication barriers in Aiden's character. I also appreciated the marriage-in-crisis theme; anyone who's been in a long-term relationship knows that it's work, and I would venture a guess that most everyone has felt at the end of their rope at one point or another. Watching Aiden and Freya work through things and start to find their way back to each other was really moving. Finally, Freya is a plus-size woman who is usually comfortable in her own skin, but admits that sometimes it's harder than it appears. As a plus-size woman myself, there's a few moments in this one that I felt to my core. It's a rare thing that I can relate to both characters so strongly; but even someone who doesn't feel such a strong connection will enjoy the human emotion and feelings poured into this one.

This was a stay up until 3 AM read for me. I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and it features moderate steam.

One romance trope I thought I would not like (prior to reading it) was marriage in crisis. I am married, but I thought why would I want to read about a troubled marriage?? Turns out I was wrong. I LOVE marriage in crisis romances! Chloe Liese’s latest release in The Bergman Brothers series is easily one of the most true to life marriage in crisis novels I’ve read.

I’ve been anticipating Freya and Aiden’s story since I first fell in love with the Bergman family. With all of Aiden’s matchmaking moments in Only When It’s Us, and then the hints at his marriage with Freya being in trouble in Always Only You, I had really high expectations for their book.

The Bergman’s have quickly become one of my favorite families in contemporary romance. They’re all so quirky, delightful, and true to life. Freya was the first that (to me) came off a little intense compared to her brothers, but by the end I really liked her a lot. I appreciated so many things about this story. The way marriage counseling was portrayed, the real life issues Aiden and Freya had, the accurate depiction of Aiden’s anxiety and how it affected their marriage. Per usual, Chloe nailed so many things about this story and made me want to stay with the Bergman’s for just a little longer. Especially all the scenes in Hawaii! This one was a slow burn with lots of sexual tension and steam, just the way I like it!

I ended up really enjoying Ever After Always, but I will say I struggled with the book at one point. One fun thing that’s happened all the stress from 2020 is that I cannot handle contemporary romances that are super stressful or heavy. The comparison to The Bromance Bookclub and All Your Perfects is spot on. There are a ton of funny moments with the meddling Bergman siblings, but the heavy moments were a lot for me when I read it.

This series was easily one of my favorites from last year. I highly recommend reading in order, especially before the next book comes out (I cannot wait for the next book!!!) 4.5 stars, 5 for Goodreads and Netgalley

There are content warnings for this one: anxiety representation, parental abandonment, parental alcoholism, and childhood poverty.

Ever After Always is the third installment in the Bergman Brothers series. This marriage in trouble romance revolves around Freya, Bergman sister, and her husband Aiden. Readers met Aiden in book #1. It's nice to be back with the Bergman Clan. The family does meddle in this marriage but it is done in love. I enjoyed the banter throughout the story but the marriage counselor is my fav.
This story has positive representation. The author is amazing at building realistic, diverse characters effortlessly. I am ordering my paperback copy for my bookshelf. Thanks Chloe Elise and NetGalley for the e-ARC of this title.

Last year I read both of Chloe Liese's 'Bergman Brothers' books and I was hooked. I knew I would devour anything she wrote. I couldn't wait to get another Bergman story and I was happy to find out that this one was Freya and Aiden's.

Freya and Aiden have been married almost ten years but recently, something has changed. They used to have such an easy love, and now things are difficult. So difficult that Freya asks Aiden to leave for a bit and give her some space. I completely felt for both of them. Marriage isn't always easy and I love reading books about what happens after. After the hea, the wedding, etc.

Though Aiden is swamped at work and Freya is still hurt with how much time he's been spending there, they go on a family vacation. Aiden knows this is his chance to make things right. Before the trip they see a marriage counselor and while on the beach, they see if they can make the necessary changes and reignite their spark.

I loved the romance between this couple and how even though they had their problems, I never felt like they didn't love each other or wouldn't make it. I also think the author did an incredible job with Aiden's anxiety rep and normalizing therapy is always a win. The biggest issue was miscommunication, which I think is pretty normal for a marriage in crisis book. I liked the way things worked out between them and I was fully invested in their story.

I love this family and this series so much! Always Only You was in my top 10 of 2020 so this had some big shoes to fill, and though it wasn't as good as Ren and Frakie's story for me, I'm so glad that it was still a 5 star read that I loved. Ever Always After is my first 5 star of the year. I love the family dynamic, the romance, the way the author handled Aiden's anxiety and the emotion. I can't recommend checking out this series enough.
