Could not get into this one, for all the stereotypes of India and Indian people throughout. Being of Indian descent and familiar with India and the people and culture, this one just read off, like it focused too much on the 'idea' the West has of the country and people and then not giving more thought to the rest. The story itself was also rather clunky, with too much exposure and description and a blocky layout that tended to just merge into a blob in front of the eyes
Sadly, this one could've done with a good editor passing through, and a sensitivity reader, too

The description was intriguing but the plot was unbelievable and the protagonists relationship played out far too quickly.

This was effectively a double trope – which works mainly, but not quite in places.
For me there was something missing in the style of writing even though the concept was a nice idea - an Indian crooner who sings the Blues rather than Bollywood.
I felt that Austin came over 2 dimensional, never seemed quite real to me as a person.

Okay, so a guy came to visit India; met his sister-in-law's cousin; had a fling with her; then parted their way as he's a no commitment kinda guy and the girl doesn't want complication in her career but unexpectedly got pregnant and didn't let the guy know about their child; later they met again and hooked up and parted their ways; met again, hooked up, had a fight and parted again, then met again and left each other again but lastly when the girl went to her cousin's house and then the guy met his child and finally they were together. About time!
By the way, the guy is Austin and the girl is Pooja if it wasn't obvious already. They had a daughter and her name is Megha.

Mr. No Commitment
by Nalini Warriar

A bit of a steamy /lusty beginnings of two people who have an instant attraction and one has commitment issues and the other is beautiful down to earth and intelligent.
They both go there separate way but meet unexpectedly years later. However Pooja has a child that Austin knows nothing about. How will it end???

This is the first of Ms Warriar ‘s books I have read.

Beautifully set in India and the writing just takes you there as you read the story.

An enjoyable read. 3.5/5

Nailini Warriar you did it again!!! With your stories you take the audience right through the scenic beauty of India! This is again another gripping story of Austin, who is our Mr. No Commitment & Pooja, who is very responsible, intelligent person, fully in control of her life! They both come from diverse background and culture, but from the moment they lay eyes on each other, they are insanely attracted to each other! Does there chemistry bud into true love or is there something else that’s binding them together?

The first chapter in the book, brought back so many beautiful memories of my trip to India, specially Kerala, which is also called “God’s Own Country”! This place is so laid back with exquisite tea plantations, backwater houseboats, natural habitat and mind blowing resorts, that you can’t help but fall in love with it. I cannot wait to go back to Kerala!

This was a 5 star read for me and I highly recommend this novel!! Thank you @netgalley, @Booksgosocial & @Naliniwarriar for the gifted copy in exchange of my honest review!

I love the strong female lead of Pooja. She’s beautiful and talented, but also smart, business-minded, and in control of her life. The chemistry between Austin and Pooja is undeniable, but is that all there is? I enjoyed this book and hope there is more in this series. I’ve also moved India up on my bucket list because of the great descriptive writing.
