I really liked this book, but I felt that there were lulls in the story that needed some help.. However I found this to be really enjoyable and entertaining and would recommend.

I received this book complimentary from NetGalley but all opinions are my own.

I’m very torn. I liked the writing style but some elements really didn’t jive with me. Ella was written to be Native but no personality to that except that she speaks to her ancestors and has kachina dolls. The foster system is not as simple or cut and dry as the book made it seem AT ALL. AJ and Ella got custody of 3 kids in one day…the foster custody arrangement is on a 30 day time frame when in reality it can take days to get custody and foster cases don’t go to court every month (some cases are lucky to get one court date every six months). The kids shaped up their behavior after like 2 weeks despite massive MASSIVE amounts of trauma and no therapy. Just a hippy dippy new age energy parenting class in one evening. Incredibly unbelievable. Also, while I appreciate truly the lengths that AJ and Ella went to to assist Clare…the behaviors the kids exhibited at the beginning were not in any way indicative of a mom who would get out of jail, get sober and get her kids back in months. Clare was completely unrealistic though I did truly appreciate Ella and AJ’s approach to fostering (if you are going to foster, it should be with the idea of parent reunification in mind). These kids had boatloads of trauma (hello, their dad was a drug dealer, murdered in a deal gone bad, their mom an addict who got lucky a guy paid for her to get out of jail, etc etc). Cmon.
However, the writing was good and Ella and AJ were pretty reasonable for a love story.

Sweet story.

When AJ Ryan, NASCAR's latest winner is publicly humiliating his Vegan sponsor by eating meat on social media, his boss calls in a PR specialist.

Ella has just been fired because her boyfriend betrayed her by posting a picture she sent him showing her current client passed out. When her best friend, Nora, has her fiance hire her to remake AJ's image no one expects the instant chemistry between them.

During volunteering at a community center, both AJ and Ella fall for 3 kids who's mom vanished. AJ helps Ella foster the kids until the mom is released from jail. Meanwhile, they become an instant family.

When they fall in love with each, they don't talk about their feelings, and things fall apart. Can they make things right before it's too late?

The Perfect Lap is the second book in the Racing Hearts in Serenity series. This was the first book I have read by this author and I did enjoy it. The characters were interesting and easy to connect with. It was well written and the storyline was interesting. I do not know much about NASCAR but I was still able to follow the story with no problems. It was an enjoyable book to read.

AJ Ryan may be the NASCAR champion, but that doesn't mean he knows how to navigate life. Used to partying and women, he gets himself into trouble with his sponsors and requires an image consultant to keep him in line. Ella just got fired from her job and takes AJ on as a favor to a friend. At her suggestion, they volunteer at the community center where they meet three mischievous siblings in need of a foster home. Not wanting them to be separated, Ella and AJ agree to a fake relationship to gain custody of the kids. But having an instant family causes a lot of stress and miscommunication. Can they learn how to handle their new life or will it break them apart?
I found their whole custody arrangement quite unrealistic, but some of the new parenting situations were funny.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Loved this book! I really enjoyed following along with the story and couldn't stop reading it once I started! I've always liked NASCAR so it was fascinating to read a book that was based around it and challenges drivers could potentially face. Definitely recommend reading this one!

I received a complimentary copy of the Perfect Lap in exchange for an honest review. I did not read the previous book(s) in this series, but I was still able to jump in and complete the book as a standalone. The novel was well written and had some good talking points in it. However, I felt like the novel took a detour by delving into the temporary custodianship of three minors. Great concept, just not as the primary theme in a contemporary romance.

The next book in the Serenity series has a bachelor NASCAR driver on the brink of well tainting his career and boy Sedona Hutton created the perfect woman to tame this wild driver in Ella Fisher. Both are well at the point in their careers where they are wondering where does it go from here in a way. Have to say for Ella this seemed like the perfect time considering that she needs a job. Now AJ was a little tough to take this guy seriously but man when it comes to the kids he's like a different man. Sedona Hutton created a balance between them that it is hard to see them separated it's like AJ is her yang and he is her yin. Perfect in every way yet both are afraid to really believe they deserve love. This is turning out to be a great series and seeing these fast, driving and sometimes wild drivers fall was beautiful and there's still one more driver to come.

"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."

Such a full, fast paced, sexy story of love on multiple levels. With a single mother of three and her problems and responsibilities thrown into the mix.

A racing driver and a driven PR meet, work together, fake a relationship together, to help care for a trio of youngsters, whose innocent single mother has been arrested.

Their good turns flourish in so many different positive ways, leading to new happy horizons. Their emerging deep love for each other, the family they are helping, along with the new career opportunities that arise for them.

They work through their own needs and insecurities to find that their joint and lasting passion is for each other. Nothing fake about their feelings and emotions of true love.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story of enduring love, commitment and happiness.

Good book and good story! This book definitely kept my attention, it was funny, heartfelt, and there was some steam to it! The main female character made me mad a few times, she flip flopped so many times I was getting ticked lol but all and all it was a great read! I definitely recommend reading it! Its well worth the read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

This book sucked me in from the first page. It was well written and the romance was amazing. I will definitely be reading more books from this author.

At first, I liked the romance unfolding between AJ and Ella. I liked to see them grow both individually and as a couple.
The situations with the kids were funny, and part of what forces them to grow.
I didn't much care for the importance given to the law of attraction in raising kids. One seminar on parenting and LOA won't solve the issues that anyone can find when suddenly living with three children. That was the only thing I didn't like about the book.
I liked the dialogues, how they went the extra mile to help other people, and especially, how they were not afraid to admit they had made a mistake.
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.

This is a sweet romance about two people who needed second chances in their lives and giving others another chance too. We first met AJ and Ella and most of the other characters in the Book 1. Whilst this can be read as a stand-alone, reading book 1 will give you background and context of the storyline and key characters. Like the previous book, this was sports romance with a new age twist. There were strong messages and themes that came through this story, perhaps the strongest being around giving a hand up rather than handout. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I just finished reading The Perfect Lap. Thank you NetGalley for gifting me an advance copy. This is the story of Ella and AJ. Ella has a lot of baggage with two failed relationships that have left her wary of the male species. AJ has been having a run of bad press and his team has engaged Ella to help clean up his image. Lots of stuff happens which culminates in them faking a relationship. While they fall into the physical part of a relationship fairly quickly because of their strong pull towards each other, there is a really nice slow burn to deeper feelings. I really enjoyed this book and getting to know these two characters. There were enough side stories to their relationship that it really kept you interested. I've already read the book after this and REALLY liked it. I'm interested to see if there will be one after Restart in Bristol. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5!

I liked the two main characters and the wider cast. I thought the story concept was good. Generally I prefer a dual POV but if that’s not your favoured route then you will probably enjoy the style more than I did.

From the image on each of the chapter headings it's clear whats going to happen so that kind of was a spoiler. I wish the author had thought about that.

For me the pace was a bit too slow and there was quite a bit of preaching about life lessons that I wasn't all that comfortable with.

I wanted more racing and more of the sport, but again if you want more of the connection and less racing it will appeal.

First off, where are all of the AJs hiding because I need to find one?! This book had my attention from the first chapter. I loved the story line and all of the characters. I really enjoyed the life lessons throughout the book as well. Sedona Hutton did a great job.

I love cars. I love racing romances. This was a great story. I guessed I'm a bit biased but it was still a great story.
