Eve Brown is a certified hot mess. After accidentally ruining an expensive wedding, her parents give her an ultimatum and ask her to prove she can hold down a job for a full year.
Jacob Wayne is always in control. So when Eve interviews for a position as a chef at his Bed & Breakfast, he tells her definitely NOT.
Until she accidentally hits him with her car. Short-staffed and with his arm now in a cast, Jacob has no choice but to accept her help...
Talia Hibbert has done it again!
Act Your Age, Eve Brown was one of my most-anticipated books of the year. I read Get A Life, Chloe Brown, and Take A Hint, Dani Brown last year and loved them both, so I had high hopes for the third and final book in the series.
Thankfully it didn't disappoint!
Eve and Jacob were both adorable. I loved their dynamic and how they gradually opened up to each other over the course of the book.
This is literally my perfect romance book. There were so many moments that made me laugh out loud, but there were also points where I could feel myself starting to cry with emotion.
Talia Hibbert knows how to write a great romance, with plenty of steam.
As much as I loved the previous books, this is 100% my favourite of the series!

I hate to be that person but you NEED to read this book. Somehow every book in the brown sister trilogy has just got better and better.
Act Your Age Eve Brown was the perfect blend of adorable, steamy and genuinely thought provoking ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just finished and I can’t really explain why I loved it so much in proper sentences so here goes:
~ Eve brown is just brilliant
~ The misfortunate car incident was gold
~ The book is cuteness level 1000
~ I couldn’t stop smiling at the end, trust me
~ The duck pond scene, come on
~ It gets STEAMY, but in a way that adds to the story
~ Did I mention Jacob?
And last but not least, the fact it’s all encompassed around learning to love and accept yourself and others for who they are.
I’m a bit devastated that this is the last book in the brown sisters series, but I look forward to what Talia writes next 🤞🏼
Thank you to Netgalley and Little Brown Book Group for kindly sharing this advanced ready copy with me.

Can Talia Hibbert do no wrong, I don’t think so because she hasn’t written a book yet I haven’t fell in love with. Act your age, Eve Brown is the third book in the Brown sisters series, but these books can be read as a stand-alone (I don’t know why you would want to though and miss out on the pure joy of all these books) I flipping loved this, I loved the fact Eve is only diagnosed as autistic as an adult, something not covered much. Talia handles it so sensitively. I love the plus size representation, the self love, I loved Eves journey, ok there’s one thing I didn’t love - that it had to end ! If you want swoon worthy, natural romance full of humour and acceptance, look no further. Talia is the best, one of my all time favourite authors, haven’t read her books, what are you waiting for?
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Having read and enjoyed both the previous books in this series I was very excited to be given the opportunity to read the next instalment. As with the others it was a very enjoyable and entertaining rom-com, both funny and cute. I would definitely recommend reading this book and indeed the whole series. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

If you read adult contemporary romance and you haven't heard of The Brown Sisters series, I'll be pretty shocked! This series has been one of my favourites with lovely, diverse heroines and swoon-worthy romances. Act Your Age, Eve Brown is the last book in the series; I'm sad it's over, but wow, it ended on such a good note.
Act Your Age, Eve Brown features everything I expect from a Talia Hibbert novel. It has a loveable couple, an adorable love interest, strong family relationships, and it's hilarious and sexy. These books are my go-to feel-good reads. They tackle more serious issues but always manage to stay light-hearted. Eve Brown is chaotic sunshine, she can't figure out what she wants to do, and she'll often give up at the first hurdle. She's the complete opposite of Jacob Wayne, a grumpy, organised B&B owner. Their dynamic was so much fun to read about; I adored how they grew as characters through their love and understanding for each other. I'm such a fan of the sunshine x grumpy trope! It was so much fun!
This book is my favourite of the trilogy, and that's 100% linked to the autistic representation. Having autistic people in the romance genre is rare, and this book has two!! I don't think I've ever read a book that features two autistic people in love. This is super important because autistic people are so often stripped of their sexuality. We're seen as completely undesirable, we're infantilised, and we're dehumanised. It was so refreshing to be able to read about an autistic relationship where they're in love, and they're sexy. It's the representation we desperately need.
Another aspect of the representation that I loved is that Eve realises she's autistic as an adult. She's always known she doesn't quite fit in, that she doesn't experience things in the same way other people do, but she's couldn't put a name to it. Autism has been thought of as something that impacts men, not women. Recent research has demonstrated that autistic traits often display differently in afab people because of how they're socialised and the expectations society has for girls. As such, afab people are usually diagnosed much older than amab people are. It was great to see this experience in Act Your Age, Eve Brown because it's something that'll be incredibly relatable to autistic women.
The autistic representation was brilliant, but Eve is also a fat, black woman, and I love that intersectionality. What I love most about Talia Hibbert's books is they often feature plus-sized protagonists. Eve's body is beautiful, and the book reflects that. Eve's identity has impacted her life in different ways, including being one of the reasons she dropped out of acting school. It hurt my heart to hear about her dreams crumbling, but I'm so happy she found another purpose in this book!
I'm never going to be a huge fan of a third act breakup, especially when they're linked to misunderstandings. Although, I was expecting this feature because it's so common in contemporary romance. Don't get me wrong, this book was still one of my favourites; I do wish that the third act breakup was more entrenched in the romance, rather than a sudden misunderstanding leading to a dramatic apology.
Overall, Eve Brown was a wonderfully swoon-worthy romance with absolutely amazing representation that I desperately needed in my life. I'd recommend it to everyone who enjoys this genre; Talia Hibbert truly is top tier.

For someone who has only read Get A Life Chloe Brown and didn't share the same excitement over it that many others did, I was sceptical going into this one. However, I still wanted to try it out as I liked Talia Hibbert's writing style and felt like this book may have more of what I felt was missing for me in Chloe's story.
Thankfully, I found more of what I was looking for in Act Your Age, Eve Brown! So if you weren't keen on the first book - definitely try this one.
Talia Hibbert stays true to her skillful use of sarcastic and witty banter throughout which is my favourite thing about the book. And yes, the steam (for those who enjoy it) remains on FULL blast.
What drew me more into Eve's story was that I understood more of the challenge she was trying to overcome and there is a journey to follow which wasnt completely overshadowed by the romance. She is also ridiculously likeable as a character and an excellent advocate for the 'take me as I am' movement. For musical fans - we get to follow her music playlist - almost making it like an interactive & mood setting experience if you stop to play the song mentioned before carrying on reading.
Whilst the romance between Eve and Jacob itself is sweet and all that cute stuff, Jacob as a character in his own right needs to be acknowledged. He is FUNNY - and without intending to. His complex internal thought processes were really interesting to read. I think I preferred him more at the beginning of the book before cupid struck him and he was dishing out more of the savage comments (Eve handles them like a boss btw). But I'm all for personal growth so seeing the changes in him was a welcome experience in the end.
I had a good time reading this book and found myself chuckling a lot. There is an exploration of autism which readers can either learn from or relate to. I have a feeling Eve's story will become a lot of people's favourite.

I really enjoyed this book, I hadn't read the previous books in the series ( have just purchased as need to read) but honestly I loved it.
The whole book especially the romance just seemed so natural which sometimes in books they don't. The conflict towards each other than turned into something more was written so well. I don't want to give any more away you just need to read it!

Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert the is final book in the series and what a way to end. I wish Eve was real because I need to have her as a friend! She is so fun, incredibly charming yet full off insecurities that are really relatable.
The story starts with Eve being confronted by her parents telling her that she must find a stable job. Upset and feeling like a failure, Eve drives off and ends up in the Lake District spontaneously applying for a job as a chef in Jacob Wayne's B&B. This is where it gets a little ludicrous and a lot humorous. I felt myself smiling so much while I was reading. The dynamic between Eve and Jacob is super cute. They have such humility even through their social and communication vulnerabilities. It resonated immensely with me.
The romance developed naturally and at a good pace much like the other books, but this time, I thought that we got to see more of the relationship between Eve's family and some new friends. This was a special story that gave voice to several very important issues and I loved that about it. It is my favorite one hands down.
Now that The Brown Sisters series is complete I wonder what is next for Talia Hibbert. Perhaps the friend's introduced in this book will be getting their own spinoffs? That sounds a great idea to me.
Thank you Little Brown Book Group UK, Piatkus and NetGalley for providing me with a copy to review.
4.5 stars

I love Talia Hibert's writing - not to mention she is autistic and has fibromyalgia like me! This was my first book by her. I did try to read Chloe Brown first but romance and smut just isn't my kind of thing but I wanted to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! I'll definitely be going back and reading Chloe and Dani Brown - sex scenes and all!!

I've been having a lot of anxiety since February and the level to which this calmed me while I was reading it really cannot be stressed enough. This was the definition of adorable and I truly treasure Eve and Jacob separately and together. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

The third and final instalment of the Brown sisters’ story is a little bit of sunshine in these dark times. Yeah it’s formulaic, especially if you read a lot of this sort of thing, but isn’t that just comforting? It’s nice knowing that probably everything will be happily resolved by the end. Plus, Hibbert writes diverse characters in such an inclusive way that you can’t help but love everyone involved. Read it, read the others if you haven’t already, be happy.

I LOVED this book! Read it. The end.
Eve Brown is the youngest and flightiest Brown sister. She is a colourful, purple-haired tornado and spontaneously applies for a job as a chef.
Jacob Wayne is a B&B owner in the Lake District who is recruiting for a chef and expects nothing less than perfect.
This book is funny and very steamy. Eve and Jacob have great communication and it’s a true opposites attract story. It’s great to see the representation for people on the autistic spectrum and a plus sized woman. I would definitely reread this.

I've absolutely loved meeting the Brown sisters and I think Eve might be my favourite yet. I adored this humorous, sexy, and heartwarming book so much and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a literary pick-me-up.

I love the Brown sisters and this book really lived up to my expectations! Talia Hibbert will be a "must read" author for me going forward.
I loved this instalment in the series. I loved Eve & Jacob's characters, their relationship, Skybriar, the B&B, the ducks, the music... I even found myself listening along to the recommended songs. Everything about it was just so cute.
These books are somewhat unexpectedly steamy - I remember being taken aback when I read Chloe Brown but I probably had fair warning for this book having read the first two. I would recommend these books to my friends for sure but probably wouldn't recommend to family members for that reason!
It was great to catch up with other characters from the book e.g. the other sisters, Eve's family etc. I'm definitely sad this series is over but as said, I will definitely be reading more Talia Hibbert in the future.

4.5 stars
I loved this book so much. To be honest, I’m sad that the series is over because I loved all the sisters and their stories and feel like I have some great friends in them.
Eve and Jacob are hilarious together and their start point was just unexpected but so good to predict what’s next to happen with them.
I loved the banter and the families and friends dynamics, all the real feelings and emotions and that moment when they decided to take that once in a life time change at happily ever after.
A great series that many romance readers will enjoy.
Very grateful to the publisher @littlebrownbookgroup_uk for my review copy

I loved this installment so much and I am heartbroken that we have finished with the Brown sisters. Eve was a great protagonist to read about and her development throughout the story was fascinating and a joy to read. I loved the chemistry between our characters and the enemies to lovers trope is definitely a personal favourite of mine.
My one criticism would be that I personally felt this book was too long and my interest did dwindle a little by the end, maybe 50-80 pages shaved off would have been perfect.
However, overall I loved the story, the B&B setting, and of course the characters.

Oh my word! I genuinely have had to take a breath after finishing this book. I absolutely inhaled it!! What a fantastic delight of a book, hilarious, clever, emotional, depth of character and WOW the steam!!
Eve Brown is a whirlwind of pink glitter and chaotic excitement, struggling to find her place in the world. When she meets calm, orderly, organised Jacob she begins to unearth a side of her she didn't know existed. He grounds her and she riles him up in a way he is completely unprepared for. The banter, emotion and connection (not to mention the sexual attraction) between the two characters is apparent from the beginning and drew me in with force that kept me gripped until the very end (leaving me bereft and desperate for more)
Talia Hibbert has fast become one of my favourite authors and I cannot wait to read more of her work!

Talia Hibbert is, without any doubt, THE author I wanted to discover this year because I read so many good review about the two previous books!
I felt attracted to this one especially because there is autistic representation. I was both eager and anxious to discover this story.
I'm sooo glad I read this one first, because I really enjoyed I laughed a lot, but also was on the verge of tears because I was so connected to Jacob, his issues with social interactions etc.
Eve Brown is a little lost at the begining of the book. She don't really know what to do nor what to expect. Jacob has all his life plan ahead, he hates disorder. It's the reason why he is against employing Eve as his new chief for his bed and breakfast. But against all odds both of them will learn how to get along and will ultimately fall for each other. Their relation is heart-warming: Jacob and Eve are meant to be.
I really enjoy the autistic rep. because I struggle finding autistic rep in YA. I felt so connected to Jacob even if I did not understand some things.
The only thing I regret is that I would've love the relation to be deeper because sometimes I just got the feeling that it was more attraction than love.

I received a free ebook version of this book through Netgalley. Thankyou to both Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this! My review is still honest.
Yes. Just yes! I have loved The Brown Sisters series, and I think this one might be my favourite! That's also quite odd to say considering that until around the 40% mark, I thought it was going to be my least favourite.
When I first started this, I was not a fan of the love interest. He was so rude and dismissive of Eve, completely judged her for little reason, felt very superior to her. I know that these were expressions of his autistic traits, but he really is quite nasty when he first meets her!
But-as the book went on, and we come to understand him as a character more, and as he got to know Eve and began being kinder to her, I warmed up to him so much! He is an autistic character and the author's portrayal is unapologetic, which I really appreciate. A lot of books I've read about autistic characters show 'soft' autism in a way-characters who act close to neurotypical. This is not Jacob. I'd love to hear someone's perspective as to how authentic the portrayal is, so please leave your comments about it as I don't feel qualified to speak on that!
Jacob turned out to be such an appealing, attractive love interest, and I loved his character so much. I also absolutely adore Eve! She's so care-free, so positive, so kind and compassionate. I loved them together, and I loved the B and B setting!
On the whole, this is a 5 star read, and if like me, you're unsure at the beginning, keep going. You won't be disappointed.

This is the last in the Brown sisters trilogy and it’s my favourite!
Eve is chaotic and disastrous. She smart and charming and funny but hasn’t found her passion and is struggling to settle down. With her older sisters, Chloe and Dani successful and happy, the pressure is on Eve. There’s only so long you can live with you parents and rely in your trust fund.
Eve storms off in a huff but when she has finished sulking she is determined to prove her parents wrong. She finds herself in the Lake District at a B&B in a pretty village and blags her way into an interview for a new chef.
Straight away she clashes with B&B owner Jacob. While she is bright and bubbly and full of energy Jacob is fastidious, serious and organised.
There is an instant attraction between the two of them and despite their very different personalities they seem to understand each other.
Eve brings charm and warmth to the B&B as she is naturally welcoming and thoughtful and Jacob shows he that some of the things she considers her weaknesses can actually become her strengths. He helps her understand her autism. There is a lot of focus on the neuro atypical traits of each of the characters and how these can become strengths when they are understood.
Like the other Brown sisters books, there are a couple of very steamy sex scenes with some crude, sexual language that some people may not like. Eve is a modern young woman who is open about her sexuality and what she wants.
This is a very modern romance filled with fun, sass and slogan t-shirts. Fans of the Brown sisters will not be disappointed and will love the appearance of the Brown family as they turn up en masse towards the end of the book.
Thank you to Netgalley for the gifted digital copy. This is definitely set to be a bestseller this year.
