An excellent coming-of-age fantasy novel. The world building was spectacular and the reader will quickly connect to the emotions of each character. There are also some eerily relevant storylines connected to the current events here on earth (i.e. race, education, unions, and overpopulation). Anoroc is a book you can gift a teenager and feel confident they'll not just enjoy the excitement of Beeker and his friends, but also will have learned some life lessons in the fast-paced 276 pages.
