Such a cute romance! I loved Priscilla and Oliver’s romance, the fake dating trope really added to the excitement. The characters were a little two dimensional, but I didn’t mind that too much because the slow burn was so perfect! What a fun story, a perfect light hearted read full of swoon worthy moments.

The Proposal Project by Donna Marchetti was equal parts chaos and cuteness and I ate it UP.
We’ve got fake dating. We’ve got enemies to lovers. We’ve got best man x maid of honor energy and yep, you guessed it, only one bed.😜 So obviously I was locked in from page one.
Priscilla and Oliver are out here trying to plan dueling proposals for their best friends (who are proposing to each other at the same time… no pressure), and the way their forced proximity turns into fake dating and then very real feelings?? My kind of spiral.
The tension between these two was next level—so much snark and banter! Also the unresolved something from the past that had me flipping pages like I was personally invested, which I absolutely was. And the cabin scenes? Adored. It’s giving slow burn and “do I hate you or do I want to kiss you in the woods?” energy.
Also, shoutout to Donna Marchetti’s writing—this was my first book by her and now I’m sprinting to read Hate Mail because the vibes were immaculate. If you’re in the mood for a super fun rom-com with bickering, spice, and a happily ever after that’ll make you grin like a dork, go read this one.

This was exactly what I expected when I picked it up. A romantic comedy with spice that was a quick read and had me entertained.
It wasn't overly original, but it was certainly a romance fit for Netflix - if you catch my meaning.
Oliver and Priscilla were asked to plan a secret proposal for their friends, and in the process, they managed to catch feels which then turned into spicy time towards the end.
*internal eye roll at some cliche moments*
(But it was all still good for your everyday romance novel).
⚘ Anyone who likes a Netflix-worthy RomCom with spice will enjoy this.

This was such great fun! I love how witty Priscilla is and it made her banter with Oliver even better. I’m not sure if enemies-to-lovers quite fits them, but they definitely have a tumultuous relationship – all sparked by a drunken confession and a little miscommunication – that had me eagerly anticipating every one of their interactions. It’s well written, with fun quips that instantly make you fall for these characters. These two are thrown together when they agree to help plan the perfect proposals for their best mates secretly. It leads to some sweet, heartwarming, and hilarious moments that had me grinning from ear to ear. Some light spice scenes are very earned after all the tension. I will definitely read more from this author. If you’re after a lighthearted romance with feel-good vibes, definitely add this to your TBR.
Orignally 3.5 but actually upped to 4 stars because I keep thinking about them.

This was a light and charming rom-com that had its fun moments, but I found it hard to really connect with the characters. While the story had a sweet premise, the writing felt a bit too simplistic at times, which made it difficult for me to fully invest in what was happening. Priscilla and Oliver’s romance had potential, but I never quite felt the emotional pull between them. In the end, it was a pleasant, easy read, but one that didn’t leave much of a lasting impression for me.

I really liked this book. I was in the mood for a flirty romance with characters I cared about and a touch of spice and this book delivered that perfectly. The fake dating trope was executed so well, I really believed the chemistry these two main characters had with each other and I was rooting for them from the beginning. The only thing that could have made this better would have been to have the MMC’s point of view. Then I think this would have been perfection

Thank you to netgalley for the advanced reader copy of this book. This was a great romance read. Loved the writing style.

The Proposal Project | Donna Marchetti
If you’re looking for a fun, easy, and adorable rom-com to enjoy, then look no further than The Proposal Project. The story follows Priscilla, who has recently been fired, and then is convinced by her best friend, Tina, to help her plan an elaborate and dramatic wedding proposal.
Only Tina’s boyfriend, Ryan, has bought a ring and left with his best friend, and Priscilla’s arch enemy, Oliver, until the time is right. With some light theft and a faked Taylor Swift sighting, Priscilla manages to get Oliver to agree to making this proposal as spectacular as possible, the only catch, they’ll have to work together.
This book was fun to read, filled with humour and has a spicy little punch to it. And if that hasn't convinced you to pick it up, just know that inside these pages, you will find:
An MMC who liked her all along
a FMC who thinks the worst of him
Frenemies-to-lovers
forced proximity
Fake dating, except he isn’t faking
A weekend always with only one bed
Idiots who don’t express their feelings
and lots of pining.

This was a cute rom com but it was hard to relate to the characters and it felt a little dated (especially the names Priscilla and Tina made me feel like it was set in the 80s or 90s). In the end I found it to be an enjoyable fun story but I had no connection to the story or Priscilla and Oliver's love plot.

It was so cute, and I absolutely adored the romance! My favorite will always be hate mail, but this one was super cute too

I absolutely loved this. The chemistry and connection between Priscilla and Oliver was palpable and the tension was well written. It didnt feel overly done to the point that it becomes frustrating as a reader. This book was cute and had me swooning and kicking my feet.

A fun, flirty romcom with a proposal twist - just not the one you were expecting.
I absolutely adored the premise of this one—two frenemies forced into cahoots to plan the perfect proposal for their best friends, who, inconveniently, are planning to propose to each other. Priscilla, newly unemployed and keen to throw herself into something meaningful, teams up to help her best friend pop the question. Unluckily for her, Ryan has the same idea—and he’s roped in Oliver, Priscilla’s former crush turned sworn enemy, to keep his secret. Cue chaos.
The dynamic between Priscilla and Oliver was a joy to watch unfold - full of snark, tension, and just enough tenderness to make the enemies-to-lovers arc feel believable. I particularly liked how their forced partnership gave way to mutual understanding and a few rather steamy scenes.
That said, I'm never the biggest fan of simple misunderstandings dragging things out—it’s a bit of a pet peeve, and I did find myself thinking, “this could’ve been solved with one honest conversation.” But that aside, the book delivered plenty of laughs, charm, and heartwarming moments.
A sweet, silly, and satisfying romcom with just the right amount of heat and heart.

This was a charming romcom that I thoroughly enjoyed. Easy to read and digest, with relatable fun characters.
However, docking a star due to the book being described as “enemies to lovers” when in reality I just didn’t see that. This felt very “miscommunication trope” “fake dating” and even “dislike to lovers” or “mildly annoyed acquaintances to lovers”. But overall, a charming romcom that was worth the read.

4.5⭐️ This hit the spot. Cute, fake dating, and a lot of forced proximity. Little bit of second chance in here too.
Thank you to Harper Collins, One More Chapter, @netgalley, and Donna Marchetti for the advanced reader copy.
Priscilla has lost her job, and her best friend has hired her to create the best proposal. Tina is ready for the next step with Ryan. Why wait!
Ryan seems to have the same plan. So, Priscilla decides to put some past hurt aside and find out Ryan’s plan from Oliver, his best friend. Priscilla and Oliver end up together so much it gets harder to hide the truth. They end up pretending to date to justify planning both proposals together. Will it be the proposal of the year. Not to mention the growing attraction between Oliver and Priscilla seems to be more real than fake.

The premise of this book sounded intriguing. But, I couldn’t get into the story like I had hoped.
It is described as an enemies to lovers. I have to say, for me personally, it was very very heavily a miscommunication trope.
I found Priscilla to be sooooo immature for her age!
The romance aspect? Definitely lacked substance.
There are some cute moments…which helped keep me reading.
Overall, this was just a ok read for me.

Donna Marchetti delivers another feel-good romcom full of heart, heat, and chaotic proposal planning. The Proposal Project is a delightful mix of fake dating, enemies-to-lovers energy, and “please just kiss already” tension. Priscilla and Oliver have electric chemistry, and watching them go from rivals to partners in crime (and maybe more?) was both hilarious and surprisingly heartfelt. I loved how the dual proposal setup gave the romance space to grow while keeping the pacing tight and entertaining. This is the kind of book that makes you smile, cringe, and swoon all at once — and honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way. Can’t wait to see what Marchetti writes next!

Fake dating can sometimes really frustrating to read, but I loved this book. Priscilla and Ryan's chemistry is bonkers good and the way they both want a real relationship but are too scared to admit it was perfectly written. It was tense while still being delicious.

Overall I thought the cheesiness outweighed the funny bits. I found myself suffering from secondhand embarrassed majority of the second act. I don’t love the miscommunication troupe but it somewhat worked for Priscilla and Oliver

I found this such a cute and easy read - I love a bit of fake dating with a hint of enemies to lovers! When the lines start to get blurred of what is real and what is fake I am INVESTED. I listened to some of this on audio and found that a great addition. The spicey scenes were really well done in this. I need to go back and read Hate Mail now!

A great book . Priscilla is a event planner and she just got fired . Her best friend Tina wants to be the one to propose to her boyfriend Ryan so she hires her and persuade her that she must start her own business . When Priscilla learn from Oliver Ryan's best friend that he also is ready to propose they team up so they both propose the same time . Priscilla and Oliver can't stand each other but for their friends happiness they pretend that they are dating . All the pretending makes her realize that her crush for him is still there and maybe she is even in love with him . Will she be able to be successful both in work and love ?
I received this book from netgalley , the author and the publisher as an ARC . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .
