When Nina offers to stay at her brother's rental and feed his cat she doesn't know she is getting herself into a tangled web of missing women, creepy neighbors and a danger to her life. Nina recently broke up with her long-term boyfriend after realizing they were not really in love with each other. She had been living at the house they shared and didn't know where to go when her brother offered a solution. Dexter and his boyfriend rented a nice apartment from a friend named Zak who was out of town, and they are taking a vacation to Hong Kong. Nina moves in and since she works out of the house, this sounds like a perfect plan until she decides her next step.
One night when she decides to sit on the balcony and use binoculars to check out the apartments on the other side of the complex; she gets more than she bargained for when she sees the handsome neighbor Julian and another woman getting busy on the balcony. She doesn't think anything of it until a news report shows the woman to be missing and Nina is very sure that Julian was the last to see her alive. This starts a dangerous course of action as Nina is determined to find out if Julian is guilty. We get some chapters from the viewpoint of Julian as well as from a woman named Tabitha who is also keeping tabs on Julian as well as a nosy neighbor, Leonard. Nina is struggling to do the right thing while also battling feelings of attraction to her brother's friend Zak who has come home sooner than planned and now shares the apartment. Some twists and turns as well as romance in this one and the author does a good job of pacing the story out and making us worry about Nina. I adore that Keri Beevis makes me feel as though I am stepping onto a rollercoaster and only hanging on by the tips of my fingers.
Nina Fairchild is house-sitting her brother’s apartment after breaking up with her boyfriend. During a power outage, she sits out of the balcony trying to keep cool and sneakily observes her neighbours, especially the man in the penthouse opposite, who had made quite an impression on her. When he is joined by a woman, she should have looked away, but naughtily she kept on watching.
What will Nina do when she hears this woman has been reported missing?
This is an extremely dark and sinister tale, but it is the OMG moments that truly sets it apart from every other psychological thriller.
Every scene is plotted to perfection. The tension escalates relentlessly, which kept my emotions on high alert at the danger Nina was facing. There was one moment that I actually found myself shouting “NO, NO, PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE” - but she did!
There is also a blossoming love story which melted my heart and also gave me a few brief moments to catch my breath.
It is stunningly written with a complex plot that remained tight as a drum all the way through. Best of all it that it encompasses an ocean of emotional depth which made me feel as though I was racing alongside our heroine.
I’d say reach for the stars Keri, but I think you already have!

If you are looking for a psychological thriller that is gripping, a definite page turner, full of drama and suspense and has a major twist in the story then look no further. This book has all the above and more! Also just when you are getting smug and think you've worked it all out, the author throws a few spanners in the works and you start to rethink everything.
An absolute wonderful piece of writing by Keri Beevis and a book you will not want to put down until you've finished it.

The River Heights complex is the height of high end living but snoopy neighbors abound.
Nina ends up living in her brother’s apartment but quickly her residency creates problems.
There were a slew of people to keep track of as the plot thickened.
I thought Nina was a bit snotty to Zac seeing as she was squatting.
I never dreamt who the villain was, but it was cleverly cloaked by the author.
I cheered the actions at the end as the climax occurred.
You may want to stay in hotels after reading this book.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
This book was so good.
After Nina’s relationship ends badly, she’s in need of somewhere to live, and she makes the decision to accept her brothers offer to look after their home as well as take care of Hannibal, who is the ragdoll kitty.
Whilst she’s there, a blackout occurs, and for something to do, Nina finds a pair of binoculars and looking in on her neighbours.
She views something happening on the balcony across from her, and the next day, whilst watching the news, the lady she saw is reported missing.
So what happened to that woman and who is the person that in the apartment on the other side of where she was?
I loved this book, the story was well written, with different points of view and it kept you hooked, turning the pages.
I highly recommend this book.

This was my first time reading a book by Keri Beevis and it book kept me intrigued but I felt like something was missing. I'll definitely read from this author again.

Fast paced, entertaining and suspenseful. Nina is housesitting for her brother and decides to use binoculars to check out the neighbors during a power outage. What she witnesses on a neighbor's balcony is something that she shouldn't be watching. Soon thereafter a girl goes missing, and she suspects her neighbor has something to do with it. Should she get involved or leave well enough alone?
This was a quick read with twists and turns that will keep you guessing.

This was such a great read! It will have you guessing, and the plot twists are jaw dropping! It's a fast paced, easy to read thriller. Definitely recommend this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
read.
Thank you #NetGalley for this #arc

This book was just OK for me. It took a while to build and when it got to the “who done it,” I wasn’t all that surprised.

Loved this book! Had me hooked from the start. Really well written.
Nina was a brilliant character. Read this in 2 days. Highly recommend to any thriller lovers!
Thanks Netgalley for letting me read this book for an honest review.

I thought this was a really good read. It centers on Nina, who is housesitting for her brother while he is traveling when she ends up seeing something on a neighbor's balcony that she shouldn't have been watching. When a young woman goes missing days later, Nina swears it's the same woman she saw in a compromising position the other night. The reader also gets introduced to some other neighbors who all have potential secrets to hide as well, making for a twisty mystery!
I thought Nina mostly acted like a normal person would ask when getting in over their heads in a situation like this. I could have done without the romance parts, but they were not overwhelming the rest of the story and honestly worked with the overall plot. Sometimes I think Nina came off a tad immature for someone her age but I still liked her as a character. The author did a really good job at planting believable red herrings that kept me guessing on who the villain really was. When all was exposed I couldn't believe it wasn't what I had guessed because it all made total sense. The ending of the book was good and tied up the loose ends nicely.
Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable read that kept me guessing. I'd recommend to those who like mysteries and domestic suspense. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

My first book by the author, and I really enjoyed it.
There's a bit of everything in here, mystery, murder, romance and even a bit of humour together with an excellent twist I never saw coming. A very quick fast paced read that keeps you turning the pages.

thank you NetGalley for sending me this book in exchange for my honest opinion
WOW! another amazing read by Keri Beevis; this starts off with a bad breakup for Nina Fairchild and in search of a new place to temporarily live she decides to take up on her brothers offer to house sit and watch over Hannibal the ragdoll kitty. during her stay Nina experiences a blackout and tries to entertain herself by finding binoculars within the apartment and starts spying on neighbors, when she sees a sexual act happening in the balcony across from hers and the next day the same woman involved is now on the news as a missing woman! whaaaaaaat?! so here goes the mystery of what happened to this woman and who is the man across the way in the other apartment?
this was a fun fast paced thriller that keeps you on your toes with many POVs but each chapter leads you into a cliffhanger and wanting to say “just one more chapter”
a solid 5 star read, I would definitely recommend this book to all who love domestic type thrillers!

First, thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review the ARC of The House Sitter by Keri Beevis. This book is a thriller and is 362 pages long. Every page made me want to continue reading. When Nina Fairchild’s relationship ends, she is left with nowhere to live. Luckily, her brother is leaving town for a month, so she is able to house-sit and watch his cat for him. While living at his posh apartment complex, she starts spying on people with binoculars and sees something she can’t unsee. The woman she sees goes missing, and Nina knows that something bad has happened to her. The rest of the book provides us with multiple suspects and holes in people’s alibis, as we try to figure out alongside Nina who committed the crime. I really enjoyed this book and had difficulty putting it down. While I did guess who the murderer was, it wasn’t a completely easy thing to do. I enjoyed the characters, with the exception of the three we were supposed to hate, and I found the plot to be interesting. I would definitely recommend this read!!

FANTASTIC READ!!! This book was suspenseful and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down! Very well written!!

The House Sitter tells the story of Nina, who agrees to house-sit in her brother's fancy apartment following the breakdown of her relationship. One evening, during a power cut, she sits on the balcony and gets a glimpse into the private lives of some nearby residents, where she sees the man in the penthouse apartment having a woman over. That weekend, a woman matching her exact description is reported missing and she hasn't been seen since that night. Nina tells the police, yet the man in the penthouse has a cast-iron alibi and denies she was ever there. Nina ends up trying to do some of her own detective work and finds herself in serious danger.
I adore everything Keri Beevis writes and The House Sitter is no exception! This book is tense and made me feel on edge, right from the start. The characters are well written and I couldn't get through the book quick enough to find out what happens to them all. It was full of twists and turns, with the final twist taking me completely by surprise.
Keri's books are always extra fun to read as they are based in my home city of Norwich, and I always enjoy reading about places that are close by.
My thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for sending me this ARC in return for an honest review.

Another great read from Keri Beevis.
Nina is happy to house-sit for her brother while he’s away for a few weeks as she’s just left her boyfriend and needs some space.
The apartment is in a modern complex but when a power cut hits the building, Nina is bored. She finds her brother’s binoculars on the balcony and decides to get some fresh air while she waits for the power to come back on.
Nina isn’t prepared to see the owner of the penthouse opposite having sex on his balcony though. As much as she knows she shouldn’t be looking, she can’t help herself.
When Nina sees that a woman has gone missing a couple of days later, she recognises her from the night of the power cut, and suspects Julian knows where she is.
Nina contacts the Police but nothing seems to happen about it.
Zac owns her brother’s apartment and returns earlier than expected which annoys Nina at first, but with all the drama in this building, she’s glad he’s there.
This is a good read with some twists that I didn’t see coming.
Thanks to Boldwood books for the opportunity to read this book.

My thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The House Sitter’ written by Keri Beevis in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Nina is staying at her brother Dexter’s flat while he and his partner Mark are travelling. On a very hot evening there’s a power outage and she’s trying to keep cool by sitting on the balcony in the dark while using her brother’s binoculars. Nina doesn’t mean to pry but she can’t help noticing the resident of the apartment opposite who's entertaining a blonde woman, and when she later reads that a woman matching her description is missing she reports having seen her to the police.
‘The House Sitter’ is more a mystery than a thriller and although there are twists and turns it was a fairly slow read and dragged at times so it was difficult to get totally immersed in what was happening. The plot was interesting with nicely described characters that I could relate to but it wasn’t as thrilling as I’d expected and at times I had to force myself to continue reading. I like Keri Beevis’s style of writing and enjoyed her previous novel but I wanted more action and when I came to the end I was disappointed, but this won’t stop me from looking out for her next novel.

What a read, full of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Just as I thought I had it figured out boy was was I side swiped. As always with the author a fantastic well written storyline that grabbed me at the first page and didn’t let go till the last page.

This is my first book by this Author and I really enjoyed it. She kept me engaged throughout the whole story. There wasn’t one point where I thought the book was slow.
The House Sitter follows Nina who recently broke up with her boyfriend. Since she lived with her boyfriend, she goes and stays at her brother’s apartment because he is heading out of town. This is where the other characters enter the story. You have Dylan the maintenance man. Conrad, Julian, and Leonard who are all tenants of the same apartment complex. Tabatha who works for Julians dad and is Julians childhood friend. Last is Zach who owns the apartment that Nina’s brother Dexter lives in. One night the power goes out and Nina goes out on her port and is spying on her neighbors. When she is spying she sees Julian with a lady named Peyton who later goes missing in the story. The story then follows multiple characters on the journey to find out what happened to Peyton.
Keri does a great job giving building each character’s personality. Right off the bat I suspected one character that was involved in the disappearance of Peyton, but then Keri’s would through in little chapters that had me guessing myself on if I was right or not. I enjoyed that almost every character had secrets, so it made you guessing and added to the twists in the books. I look forward to reading more books by Keri if they are wrote like The House Sitter.
