What a book!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own. ... However I would gladly buy this book as it is well-worth the read and is a real page-turner!

Cal and Zoe are the main characters in this book, and as with all of Ms James previous books, we are drawn in by the character's depth, wanting to find out more about them, what makes them tick, their inner qualities and to explore the relationship we know is brewing!
Set in small-town Idaho, we are introduced to Dr Zoe Santangelo, a professor in the geology field, newly teaching at the local university. She meets Cal Jackson - local farmer and ex NFL football player when she crashes into a ditch on a snowy Idaho road. This is the start of a fun and beautiful journey ...

One of the differences in Carry Me Home to Ms James other books, this is a romantic suspense story, hence comes along the storyline of a stalker, terrifying a local student who Zoe quickly takes under her wing to keep her safe. I enjoyed discovering Zoe's fiesty and protective persona as we unravelled the layers of her personality, and the storyline kept me riveted! I enjoyed this different genre from Rosalind James, the steamy romance as is typical of a RJ book was still very much in place, with the suspense theme well- written and not overly scary (my opinion).

Cal ... aah Cal! A fine specimen of a man, who has old-school values and a lot of love to share. A farmer and family man at heart, Cal is born and bred pure Paradise, Idaho with a bit of time spent in California with his ex-wife during his football career. Introduce his brother Luke and now this is a family I want to read more about!

As is characteristic of Ms James writing style, she attracts you with her love of the location the story is set in and Paradise, Idaho is no exception. The snowy, cold winters, small-town charm, I'm looking forward to reading more about this gorgeous little town and the people who live there! Highly recommend this book to all lovers of Romance or Romantic Suspense novels.

This was a really good romantic suspense story. The story takes place in Paradise, Idaho. Zoe,is an assistant professor at the university. She is absolutely career focused, looking to move to a larger university. To make that next step up the ladder of her career path. Zoe thinks she has Cal pegged.

Cal, is an ex-jock, farmer, who is recovering from a divorce, but looking for someone who is interested in making a life in Paradise. Cal knows Zoe thinks she has him pegged. Their meeting on a snowy road changes both of their lives.

There is a stalker, lurking in the shadows, planning his attack. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat. I have read all of Rosalind James NZ books, starting with Just Good Friends, but this book takes a different path.

There is romance, some steamy scenes, and suspense. The book keeps you guessing about the identity of the stalker. I loved the fact that Zoe was a strong female lead, and Cal was your strong male lead. They worked so well together, with their slightly sarcastic, witty, humorous conversations.

I enjoyed almost all of the Paradise characters. I have to say that even the bad guys were well written. I highly recommend this book. It was just a really good read. One of those books that you can't wait for it to end so you can figure out the mystery, BUT, you hate for it to end because it is so good.
