The Hawk Is Dead by Peter James
I give this book 5 stars

Her Majesty, Queen Camilla, is aboard the Royal Train heading to a charity event in Sussex when disaster strikes – the train is derailed.
A tragic accident or a planned attack?
When, minutes later, a trusted aide is shot dead by a sniper, the police have their answer.

Having read all 21 books in Peter James Roy Grace series, this latest addition proves yet again why it’s one of the best police procedural series out there.
Roy Grace is back and I’m loving it!
The author manages to balance the crime and case details seamlessly with the personal. You don’t just follow the intense twisting investigations you live alongside these characters with their relationships and struggles that make the stories feel real and engaging and it keeps me coming back for more. Each book feels like I’m catching up with old friends who solve some of the most gripping crimes around.
It’s rare to find a series that stays so strong over this many books, but Peter James continues to deliver.
If you’ve followed the from the beginning, you’ll love this one. And if you haven’t started them yet this is a series I can highly recommend.
With thanks to Netgalley, Peter James and pan MacMillan for my chance to read and review this book.
