Gripping, suspenseful 5th in Kim Stone series!

The DI Kim Stone series by [author:Angela Marsons|7942666] keeps getting better and better! I have read and enjoyed each of the previous 4 books - and [book:Blood Lines|31820148] did not disappoint!

DI Kim Stone and her team are investigating multiple murders where the victims were stabbed. The wounds match on these victims, but they are from various walks of life, without a common thread.

In the meantime, Dr. Alexandra Thorne is BACK murderously manipulating others, notably Kim. While Dr. Alex is still incarcerated in a psychiatric institution, she is able to "reach" people on the outside to further her diabolical plans.

I loved how the plot in this book re-visited the evil character of Dr. Alex. This made for a tense and emotional read. Additionally, I was not able to guess how this was going to end or who was responsible for the stabbing deaths. It was difficult to put the book down during the last half!

If you are a mystery / police procedural lover and haven't read any of this excellent series yet, check it out! Remember to start with first in series [book:Silent Scream|24483265] and read sequentially for maximum enjoyment. This book, particularly, builds on history from the 1st and 2nd in series.

* spoiler alert **
I just love this series and this book is the fifth book in this series. I was left speechless after reading it. It was so good and felt that this one is the best one. The books get better and better and the characters become more developed. This series needs to be read in order to get the full experience.

---At the beginning you have two victims that are stabbed in the same way. How are the victims related, and who is behind it? It took awhile for this to be solved since there wasn't any trace on who did it.

--- Guess who is baaaack? Yes, the evil Dr. Alex is back and she just gets more and more evil. She just doesn't stop and it starts with her writing a letter to Kim. She does not leave Kim alone.

---Kim's Mom revisits in this one and wants a parole hearing. We also get more info on Kim's and her twin Mikey's past.

---Evil Alex controls others to get what she wants and just won't stop.

---Evil Alex is trying to get out of prison and is trying to kill those who have put her there. Will Kim and her mother lives be at risk?

---Kim also has a stalker that watches Kim.

---As the body count increases, Kim and her team unravel a web of dark secrets, bringing them closer to the killer. But one of their own could be in mortal danger. Only this time, Kim might not be strong enough to save them…

The suspense just kept going. I was sucked in straight from the beginning. I tried to guess and predict the killer but wasn't able to. It was a very good mystery. I just could not put the book down. It had some twists, it was a devour.
I recommend this series to all mystery and thriller fans.

I want to thank Netgalley, the publisher, and Angela Marsons for a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
