The Modern Marcus is a complete rewrite of The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius — one of the foundational texts in Stoicism.
It is not a translation. It starts from a radically different place: What would Marcus write if he was writing today?
So, while it covers the entire content of the original, it uses modern language and modern references throughout (eg references to obscure Roman plays are replaced with references to modern day films).
The idea is to make the thinking and wisdom to be found in The Meditations available to a much wider audience.
