W. W. Norton and Company, the oldest and largest publishing house owned wholly by its employees, strives to carry out the imperative of its founder to "publish books not for a single season, but for the years" in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, cookbooks, art, psychology, graphic novels and more. In addition to our Norton Young Readers, Countryman Press and Liveright Publishing imprints, we are the distributors of Thames & Hudson, New Directions, Mysterious Press, Tin House, Fantagraphics, Penzler Publishing, Tilbury House, Persea, and more.
W. W. Norton and Company encourages requests from librarians, booksellers, media professionals, bloggers, and educators, but reserves the right to accept or decline requests on a case-by-case basis. We prioritize readers who need advance reading copies for professional purposes.
If you are a reviewer/blogger, please include:
- a direct link to your book review blog or links to other media outlets where your reviews have appeared
- share your email address, so that we can follow-up
- state how many unique visitors you have per month to your site
- show evidence of timely reviews and an active blog.
In most cases, requests will be approved for librarians, booksellers and educators who include their name, their institution name and address, and an institutional email address in their bio. Please also tell us your role at the library/bookstore/school and how you share/promote books. We do also prioritize people who regularly submit feedback.
If your request is approved:
Bloggers: Wait to publish your review until two weeks before the release date unless prior arrangements have been approved by one of our publicists.
Send us your review via NetGalley and include the name of the publication/blog, the link (for online reviews), and the date when the review will be published.
If you are also an Edelweiss user, please request ARCs in only ONE place, not both Edelweiss and Netgalley.
