I am a psychotherapist in private practice and my education in psychology helps me to delve into the human soul and my own soul. It allows my creativity to flow. Writing for me is therapy, it helps me try to understand my inner chaos, the people around me and the world in general. I have been writing stories, poems, songs, as a healing tool, ever since I can remember. I have written two plays during primary and secondary school highlighting the social injustices I witnessed growing up in Brazil. In ‘Mother of Honey’ I explore my own ancestral trauma. I am the upcoming author of ‘Seven Magpies Falling Dead from the Skies’ an eco-novel which is both a human drama and a global story. ‘Seven Magpies’ was selected by HarperCollins Spread the Word competition. The invaluable positive and constructive feedback I received from their editors gave me the confidence I needed to continue to write the story. My main objective is, through the publication and promotion of ‘Mother of Honey’, to build a platform that helps in the promotion of my eco-novel that will be published next year. As a climate activist, I use all my courage and storytelling skills to create much needed awareness of the climate crisis. Being the daughter of Iracy, my indigenous mother, I feel compelled to highlight the growing threat to the indigenous peoples of the Amazon, without this ecosystem we will all be impacted. I use the pseudonym of Ana Maria Luisa due to the ethical boundaries required by my profession.
