Authors Wenn B. and Beatrice M. Lawson offer a clear-eyed and heavily detailed account of Wenn's gender transition. Their story is insightful and very interesting, though the delivery is somewhat dry.

A truly heartwarming book which covers a whole aspect of issues I knew absolutely nothing about. A wonderful book which everyone should read

I didn't want to be the first person to review this book, but such is life.

There are people who have a great story to tell and should tell it. I think Wenn and Beatrice have such a story. I was very, very curious to read about their journey through relationship and gender identity, and I was anticipating an informative, interesting read. I've read quite a number of books featuring transgender characters, and I'm always seeking to grow my wealth of knowledge on the topic of gender identity.

However, this book is also a prime example of the truth that just because you have a story to tell, it doesn't make you a writer.

Frankly, Transitioning Together: One Couple's Journey of Gender and Identity Discovery is barely readable. Wenn and Beatrice should have had someone with more experience write their story and truly do justice to it. The book looks like it has never seen an editor's desk. I read paragraphs over and over again, trying to understand them. The writing is stilted and confusing, and there are glaring issues with grammar and sentence structure.

I understand that both authors are on the autism spectrum, and I applaud them for getting their story out there, but I would advice them to give their book some spit shine and polish before presenting it to the public.
