How It Works
NetGalley connects publishers and authors to an enthusiastic community of early influencers who will help their book succeed: librarians and booksellers who order and recommend books to their patrons, media professionals who interview authors, reviewers and bloggers who write about books online and leave reviews on retail sites, and more. Publishers and authors list their titles on NetGalley for members to request, read, and review, and members gain free access to a vast catalog of digital review copies.
NetGalley for Members
NetGalley is a service to help readers of influence discover and recommend new books to their audiences. If you are a reviewer, blogger, librarian, bookseller, educator, journalist or other member of the media, you can use NetGalley for free to request, read, and recommend books before they are published.
Your reviews and feedback are essential to publishers and other readers!
Publishers tend to approve requests from members who have a history of providing feedback for books they’ve accessed, and who can demonstrate their reach as an early influencer or reviewer. Members improve their chances of getting approved for more books by providing meaningful reviews, by connecting their accounts to verified industry organizations (ABA, ALA, ALIA, and others.), and linking to their blogs and Goodreads accounts. Before you get started, read our guidelines on how to get approved for titles.
NetGalley for Publishers
Publishers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, and Japan are using NetGalley to find enthusiastic early influencers for their books. Digital review copies allow publishers of all sizes to connect with a wider audience than would be possible with print galleys alone.
Publishers receive requests from NetGalley members to read their books in exchange for feedback. Publishers can also invite their own contacts to read their books by using a pre-approved link. Files delivered via NetGalley are protected by DRM and can be read on all major reading devices. In addition to providing a platform for publishers to access a vibrant community of readers and influencers, NetGalley also provides actionable data about how early reading ignites interest and promotes sales.
While there is no charge for our member community to use NetGalley, publishers do pay a set-up fee and a monthly subscription rate depending on the number of books listed on the site. We also offer a package for independent authors, and work with marketing and PR firms, as well as other groups who manage book promotions. NetGalley clients can also participate in successful marketing programs to help boost engagement with our community.
