If your spirits need boosting, the Half-Moon Hollow series has just the right story to improve your mood. From the very first release, these amusing paranormal stories have caused uncontrollable laughter, and the latest book is once again hilariously entertaining. There are comical incidents along with plenty of snarky retorts, and I could always picture the event happening because of the author’s descriptive writing. Molly Harper never disappoints when it comes to delivering original characters who find themselves in unique situations, and ACCIDENTAL SIRE causes numerous laugh filled moments.

After Meagan Keene meets a nice young man at a college party, she is thrilled when Ben Overby invites her to go on a date with him. Sadly, her happiness is short lived because she is hit with a heavy frisbee being tossed by some other students who are vampires. When it becomes apparent there is no hope she will recover from her injuries, a random vampire volunteers to turn her so she might continue to exist.

Upon waking up, Meagan realizes she is now one of the undead, and her first visitor is Ben checking to make certain she is doing all right. But there seems to be several irregularities when it comes to her new condition, so she is going to be carefully monitored by a vampire belonging to the World Council for the Equal Treatment of the Undead until she is thought to be safe. It certainly appears that Meagan’s potential romance with Ben is over before it even starts.

A visit to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky is always a special treat, as many of its residents are one of a kind. Jane and her hunky husband Gabriel are featured all throughout this story, and they made scenes extra enjoyable with their personal brand of humor. The high-spirited Ophelia does her usual thing, while the adorable looking yet actually sort of creepy Georgie shows off. And I certainly cannot forget Dick and his assortment of cleverly phrased t-shirts. If you have ever read this series, it is great catching up with favorite characters, and a first-time meeting of them will make you want to go back and discover what was missed.

What happens to Meagan and Ben is unplanned, and it leads to all kinds of hilarious mishaps and a number of unexpected repercussions. Molly Harper has many situations taking place that are very laughable as a new vampire does not always react as anticipated, especially when several traits are far from normal for their kind. However, there are also some suspenseful instances where outcomes could have serious consequences. The author has come up with a few distinct features for Ben and Meagan, and I found delight in each new aspect. The world Molly Harper has created for her paranormal beings in ACCIDENTAL SIRE is very ground-breaking since circumstances are like no other series. As Meagan comes to terms with living as one of the undead, she and Ben must also work through quite a lot of problems. Young love can be difficult for anyone, but their added supernatural troubles makes forming a relationship doubly hard. I am just glad to have had the opportunity to go on this imaginative journey with two likable individuals and all their diverse friends.

I voluntarily reviewed the book from the publisher via NetGalley, and all comments are my honest opinion

I have no idea how she does it, but Molly Harper consistently authors original stories and unique characters. Her plots are strong, combining romance and hints of mystery and suspense, and the characters so real that I want to travel to Half-Moon Hollow and meet them.

I devoured Accidental Sire, and my only complaint was that I finished the book far too quickly.

Another winner in this truly wonderful series. Have read them all and they never disappoint. Couldn't put it down and it was over too soon. Molly Harper is amazing.

After being mortally wounded in a freak ultimate frisbee accident, Meagan finds herself the newest vampire at the University of Kentucky. But she's not just any vampire. Someone has messed with her DNA and made her into some sort of super-vampire. She's faster and stronger than the average vampire and unfortunately she's also managed to turn her would be boyfriend on her very first undead day.

With two super vampires and no idea how it happened the head of the vampire council, Jane Jameson steps in and takes them under her wing. They just need to survive scientific curiosity, someone who is up to no good at the University of Kentucky and Jane's very huggy friends.

The Accidental Sire is an entertaining book, a book that is fun and funny, but I wouldn't describe it as a good book. It is a little rushed in the first and last chapters and in some ways it feels like it's "by-the-numbers" Molly Harper.

Don't get me wrong, it's good and well worth the effort. It's not a 5 Star book but it well deserves the 4 Stars I'm giving it.

Meagan sometimes has to stop Ben's desperate tendencies, "I laughed as Ben bent his head to kiss me. “I’m not going to have *** with you in a tobacco field. That is sad.” I loved this book, it was so entertaining amd the female characters were full of so much sass.

Molly Harper may be the funniest author ever. I have been a literary resident of half-moon hollow since Jane was mistaken for a deer on the side of the road so many years ago. I love how the world has grown and we are pulling in more and more people while at the same time staying connected to our favorites. Taking the demographic to a slightly younger group of baby vamps has been interesting. It's refreshing to see the older vampires, especially Jane "mother". Oh and Georgie is delightful.
This story was fun, full of humor, and kept you reading until the very end. I loved the twist and it was nice to see the "boy next door" grow up.
