OMG what can I say? I absolutely love Jill Mansell already and this is by far my favourite!

Set in the idyllic beachcomber bay in Cornwall we meet Clemency who meets a guy on a plan and talks way too much to him and gets her heart broken by him pretty much. Fast forward a few years and Clemency’s stepsister Belle ha a new boyfriend and to Clemency’s surprise it’s Sam! Her mystery man from the plane!

The story then takes a sisterly fight between the two trying to get one up on each other with some heart ache, laughter and realisations along the way.

I really enjoyed Clemency as a character, she was hilarious and sarcastic and I could totally relate to her. I found Belle more challenging to like and I kind of loved to hate her. Even the side characters were full of hilarious one liners that made me laugh out loud.

The romance in this is as always, at its finest and the wit and hilarity made me read this in pretty much one sitting. It’s an unputdownable read, that makes you turn the pages so fast because you want to know what else is going on in the crazy lives of these characters.

This book made me laugh, cry and then laugh again all in one chapter! A heartwarming, all the feels and unputdownable new book by Jill Mansell, highly recommended for fans of a romantic and funny read!

I loved this one, as with all Jill’s books they are genuinely earning heartfelt reads. This one is about Clemency, Ronan and Belle and their quests for love. Perfect summer read. Thank you netgalley for this arc which I have finally got Round to reading!

What a charming story. Yes, it's the usual kind of 'chick-lit' - will she, won't she get the guy? But it's also more than than, with seemingly the whole town of St Carys involved too, and other romances are on the cards. It's well written (sadly all too rare these days), touching, with realistic and likeable characters. Oh, and it actually made me laugh, unlike those books which tell me they are 'laugh out loud' or suchlike. While there are many similar books around, I would say that Jill Mansell is undisputed queen of this genre!

If you're looking for a warm, fuzzy, feel good holiday read then Jill Mansell's 'Meet Me At Beachcomber Bay' is the book for you. Jill Mansell always seems to hit the right note with her quirky loveable characters and their romantic complications. Clemency, the main character, is a delight; we meet her first on a flight home chatting amicably with an initially reluctant Sam. Romance seems on the cards until we discover that he is in fact married! All the same, his commitment to his marriage in the face of such obvious attraction is to be applauded! Fast forward a while and we again meet Clemency working for an estate agent in Cornwall, surrounded by her friends; loveable rogue, Ronan; self-centred stepsister Belle with the heart of gold; Marina, Josephine and Ellis, all tied inextricably to Ronan; Kate and Verity who provide a bit of extra mystery and romance - and Sam, who reappears as the latest love interest of none other than - Belle! This is so much more than a love triangle as Jill Mansell attempts to sort out the complicated love lives to suit everyone and reach a happy ending - which she does admirably! Despite the predictability of most of the plot, there are one or two lovely surprises that I didn't see coming until I was well into the book - and I won't spoil it by calling them out here - just to say that they complimented the main plot beautifully.
All in all, Jill Mansell's usual lovely read. Enjoy!

Loved this one - perfect setting on the Cornish coast and a wonderful cast of characters. The book starts off with a chance meeting of 2 of the main characters on a plane and this storyline develops well drawing in a supporting cast of village members along the way. A perfect holiday read and kept me interested right up until the very end.

i have only read a couple of jill mansell's books but i already know what i am getting when i open one. and i LOVE it. her books are enjoyable, predictable, cheesy, light and SO fun. i thoroughly enjoy them, and this one was no exception. i really really loved the characters and the story, and even though it is 'chick lit' and you know a happy ending is on the way, i just love the way jill mansell gets there. her books always make me laugh - and face palm over embarrassing moments - and get a bit teary. definitely enjoyed, definitely recommend.

A light and very summery read. Set in a small Cornish seaside town which is idyllic. Two step sisters, Belle and Clemency who make a vow never to encroach on eithers boyfriends, a vow which is hard to keep. It's a funny, crossed wires and misunderstandings kind of book, with no villains, or at least no proper ones. A happy, feel good story with nice, colourful characters - the sort of people you'd like to know yourself, the ones you could have fun with, rely on and fall in love with. Very entertaining, enjoyable, comical and romantic, not to mention a happy sigh at the end - perfect!

One word; WOW. I didn't really have any idea what Jill Mansell's book was going to be about, all I knew was that it was set in Cornwall! I don't tend to read the blurbs of a novel as I prefer getting surprised and finding out every piece of information myself. Reading 'Meet Me at Beachcomber Bay' felt like I was unwrapping a never-ending bag of presents; the small ones on top, the larger ones at the bottom.

For every small present I unwrapped, I learnt more about the characters, their history and exactly what brought them to Cornwall. In amongst the small presents I found multiple medium-sized ones; not often but enough to catch me off guard. For me, those medium sized presents represented situations in the storyline that truly did catch me off guard (in a good way). I really did feel as though I was unwrapping an incredibly precious storyline with every page I turned (or pushed, seeing as it was my Kindle).

I don't usually have any problem waffling in my reviews, but today I am because I can't quite put my thoughts into words good enough to describe exactly how this book made me feel. I loved the exceptionally complex love elements, the house viewings, the banter between each character; even all of the secretive moments! Every single thing about this storyline flowed, there were no pregnant pauses or overfilling a characters storyline to fill up a chapter. None of that. It was as though every character, every house, every emotion and every secret had a right to be there. Does that make sense?

My heart went out to Ronan and his life story. He came across as such a confident and cocky guy, yet you could tell underneath he was missing something. Plus, he was also rather funny!
Clemency was my favourite character, she was just everything I wish I could be. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to shake some sense into her at one point but she didn't know what I knew!
You know, I don't actually think I hated any of the characters. Well, aside from one but it's pretty clear as to why once you read the book (sorry, don't want to give anything away!). Parts of Belle's personality irked me something chronic, BUT, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt once the jigsaw pieces of her life came together.

'Meet Me at Beachcomber Bay' was everything I could have dreamed of, and more.  No lie. For me, it was absolutely perfect. There was the right mixture of past vs present, sadness vs happiness, as well as character vs character.

Jill Mansell's novel made me laugh, well up and gasp. I finished reading the novel with a HUGE smile on face without even realising it. I genuinely cannot fault 'Meet Me at Beachcomber Bay', it truly was the breath of fresh air and escape that I needed to lose myself in.

Beautifully written, Jill Mansell has created yet another fantastic novel rather flawlessly. I wish I could give this novel a much higher rating than Amazon allowed (trust me, if I could it would be off the scale), as it as really gotten under my skin in such an indescribable way.

'Meet Me at Beachcomber Bay' is such a special, unique and cleverly written novel that obviously has been written from the authors heart. I know that Jill Mansell's novel will forever hold a special place in my heart, reminding me to never give up on what you truly want, regardless of the amount of hurdles you have to jump over first.
Outstanding.

Thank you Headline.

The main plot follows Clemency who met Sam on a flight and they had a connection. Unfortunately, Sam was married so they parted ways. Now Sam is back in her life but he's dating her step-sister, Belle.

There was an excellent set of side characters that each had their own stories. There is Ronan who is secretly in love with Kate but pretending to date Clemency. Ronan's mum (Josephine) and his biological mother (Marina) as well as Belle and Verity. I thought that this book covered a lot of difficult topics such as cancer, adoption, race, sexuality and these were dealt with in a really realistic way.

The story is quite predictable but you always expect that with this type of book. I did think that this was a really fun read. I always really enjoy reading about small towns and seeing everyone getting on with one another.

Jill Mansell is on my list of go-to authors whenever I feel like a lighthearted, feel-good read and she hasn't disappointed with 'Meet me at Beachcomber Bay'.

Girl meets boy. Boy is married. Years later boy returns as Girl's sisters boyfriend...

Uplifting. Funny. A lovely comfort read.

Thanks to Headline for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

And she gets better!

Honestly. I admit to loving Jill's novels, but it's often expected that as the number of novels an author
writes increases, then the quality sometimes decreases, or at best plateaus. This is not something that
could be leveled at Ms Mansell as 'Meet me at Beachcomber Bay' is superb.

Wonderfully paced and crammed full of delicious characters. Clemency runs into the man of her dreams
whilst on a flight and is disappointed when the flight of fancy doesn't end as her heart desired. All is
not as it seems though and years later she runs into Sam who now happens to be dating her, seemingly,
shallow step-sister Belle. Throw in beautifully written characters like her friend Ronan (I was insanely
jealous of how he handsome Jill made him, but that's my problem).

The story is a mixture of lost chances, lost parents and lost loves (amongst many others) but above all
about the power of trust I think. Trust that things happen for a reason and that so long as you keep that
trust, all will turn out well.

If you're a fan of Jill's, then this is up there with 'Three Little Things' (still my favourite and I'm
still waiting for the film), but if you're looking for the perfect get-away-from-it-all read, then
congratulations, you've found it!

Wonderful!!!!

A fantastic , feel good book that will stay with me forever.
The story is set in a beautiful part of the country - St Carys in Cornwall and although I have never been to that part of Cornwall I could picture the setting so vividly.
Clemency the main character meets a handsome man called Sam on a plane, although she very nearly missed her plane so she wouldn't of but fate intervened. Sam and Clemency don't hit it off straight away but eventually they do and you get the feeling this is the start of a beautiful love story but Sam is out of bounds to Clemency. The story soon fast forwards 3 years later and Clemency has started a new life in Cornwall with a new job as an estate agent. Once again fate brings Sam into Clemency's life and frustratingly he is again unavailable. The suspense of will they won't they get together really kept me gripped to this story. The other characters in the book all have their own pasts and stories too, take Belle for example, she is Clemency's spoilt, stuck up sister who is so annoying yet she has a secret that will change who she is. Ronan is Clemency's friend and colleague who is a male tart but eventually when he meets the right woman he messes it up. Marina is the local artist who also has a secret, that soon emerges as does a couple of faces from her past.
This story made me believe in fate and how everything happens for a reason.
A must read for 2017.

Imagine sitting next to a man on a plane and as well as making a complete fool of yourself you also have some sort of connection by the end of the flight.

This is what has happened to Clemency. But fate is not meant to be and she departs the airport with perhaps a sadness in her heart but also with many questions about the man she has met.

Back in her home town, St Carys in Cornwall, Clemency gets on with her life, as an estate agent. Not giving that encounter on the plan another thought, or so she thought.

But when Belle, her stepsister introduces her to her new boyfriend when she arrives back in St Carys to set down some roots, it appears that the encounter on the plane has resurfaced.

Now tasked with finding the perfect home, Clemency has to work through all her feelings and remain true to her sister. Trouble is Belle is not being true to herself and it seems that she is having doubts about something too.

Of course when you have the background of an estate agency in a lovely Cornish setting you are going to encounter some other characters and therefore, the story is made richer when we get to meet Ronan, Marina and Kate. Everything is so cleverly woven together that you don't see the plot twists coming, all it does is keep you reading and reading.

This is a strong novel from Jill Mansell. It is not a bit of fluffy reading, far from it. It is a story that has sibling rivalry, the difficulties that we set ourselves personally when it comes to accepting our own true love as well as the complications that love can bring at any age and the consequences these actions can have years later.

I loved it.

I love Jill Mansell's book and this is another great, easy reading book set in beautiful Cornwall. Returning to the town of St Cary's, I recognised some of places that this book was set in. I particularly liked the direction of Belle's story, something you don't find in main stream Female Fiction very much. I'm looking forward to Jill's next book, as always.

Ahhh loved this book, just a brilliant, emotional, feelgood beauty. It was quite the tearjerker in places balanced with humanity, love and comic moments.
Definitely a contender for romcom of the year.

As a long time fan of Jill Mansell's books I always look forward to the beginning of a new year as I know it won't be long before those fans of Jill's writing will once again be swept up in another brilliant book. I've read everything she has ever written and many years ago when I first discovered her writing she just became one of those authors whose books I readily gobbled up one after the other and then was sorry I had read everything and had to wait for a new book to be published. This new book Meet Me at Beachcomber Bay was just an utter delight from beginning to end and really was Jill Mansell at her very best. She was on sparkling form and everything about this book just screams read me now and I'll provide you with this feel good warm feeling inside and make you forget all your troubles... well at least for a couple of hours or more.

The setting for this book was a return visit to the small Cornish village of St Carys which featured in one of Jill's previous books The Unpredictable Consequences of Love. It sounds picture perfect and so vividly described that the reader wishes it could only be real so they could pay a visit there. Lots of authors during the last year have used Cornwall as the setting for their books and I thought am I getting a bit too tired of this? But no this didn't happen with this book, something new and fresh was brought to the setting and I loved everything about it and the trials and tribulations of our cast of characters of which there were many. Despite it not being a busy bustling metropolis like a large city, there was still an awful lot going on amongst the characters that reeled you in from the very first page and didn't unhook themselves from your mind until the last word. In fact they are still playing on my mind now that I would love a re-visit to St Carys again in the future.

The story begins as Clemency is flying back to London from Malaga and she is late for her flight after mislaying her passport in duty free. This is not like Clemency at all and she arrives on board flustered and in a heap but yet is delighted when she finds herself sitting next to a hunky man even if he is doing her best to ignore her as she offloads her story about being late. Clemency doesn't give up and keeps talking about various things and soon said man has no option whether he likes it or not but to engage in conversation. Clemency soon feels a zing, a spark, an undeniable chemistry and thinks is this too much of a cliché to be true, meet a man on a flight and fall in love. Despite their chat this proves true as Sam can't get away quick enough once the luggage has been collected at the airport. Clemency is crushed and figures that's that, so much for that connection. Yet the reader sensed the chemistry between the pair and hopes that won't the last we will see of Sam.

Fast forward three years later and Clemency is an estate agent working alongside Ronan in the picturesque seaside town of St Carys. She is happy with her life although the romantic side is not what she had hoped it to be at this point in time. I warmed to Clemency immediately from the first time we encountered her at the airport, she was friendly and supportive to everybody and we could see the meeting she has on the plane has a profound affect on her. Being a women's fiction romance book the reader knows there is going to be quite a lot in store before any sort of happiness and long term fulfillment can be achieved before one reaches the final pages and the author certainly provided us with so much in this story.

There were plenty of characters to get to know and each had their own storyline and it could have been in danger of going off on irrelevant tangents, or things becoming too muddled to follow, but thankfully this didn't happen and there was a lovely flow and feeling to the book. Yes it was slightly frustrating the reader could see the wider picture as characters were covering things up to protect other people's feelings and avoid hurt and heartache but I wanted it all out in the open. That's the impatient side of me that wants resolution quickly, yet the other side of me while reading wants to be left hanging and kept constantly surprised which I was with this book. There were two points in particular where I went wow I so didn't see that coming. Jill really had pulled the wool over my eyes and I like how the element of mystery was coming into play throughout the story.

The more we read the more everything seemed to become more tangled for our characters but I was riveted to the storylines and was more than enjoying how everything was unfolding. Belle, Clemency's stepsister, arrives in town with her new boyfriend in tow and this proves quite a shock for somebody. He is looking to settle down in Cornwall and Clemency is tasked with finding him a house to buy. Things aren't smooth sailing as she is forced to confront feelings pushed firmly to a safe place in her mind. Regarding this issue she proved so selfless and I was amazed at what she did to protect others and the front she had to partake in. I know I wouldn’t have done it instead I would have instinctively blurted out the truth I wouldn't have been able to keep it in. There was a nice bit of sibling rivalry between Clemency and Belle and this was good to see as sisters don't always have the most perfect of relationships. Initially I thought Belle a bit light and fluffy and there wasn't much to her except she really liked her boyfriend and showing him off and of course shopping. But there was alot more depth to her than at first you would think and her storyline was excellent and one which I never saw coming although the clues were there.

Ronan, Clemency's co-worker, seemed all about bedding as many women as possible or again was this a front? Fair play to him though he stepped up to the mark when needed and again the author gave him a great storyline. I think that's what made me enjoy this book so much it wasn't all just about Clemency and her search for love and to feel complete, all the characters had great storylines which merged very well with the main plot. They were all so well developed and there weren't endless chapters devoted to each person instead they came in and out at various points and just the right amount of detail and attention was given to them when needed. We didn't forget about any person, they popped up when appropriate to do so. Kate is the local post woman on the search for a new home due to having had some inheritance money come her way. She kept everything close to her chest and I felt sorry for her that she couldn't express how she was feeling but she didn't really want to upset the apple cart. Marina is the local artist who works outside on the café terrace painting and I did think she was getting just that bit much prominence for a minor character but again Jill played a blinder with her crafty twists of which there were many.

Meet me at Beachcomber Bay is much more than the traditional women's fiction boy meets girl story, it gave me everything I had hoped for me and I completely lost myself in the story. There were so many surprises and twists that kept the reader guessing yet for the majority of the time a sweet, uplifting feeling was created that despite the trials and obstacles they were encountering just gave me that warm feeling inside. This was a comforting style of writing and I suppose in a way a comforting, reassuring book that you would want to read with some comfort food in one hand the book in the other. I wanted all the characters to see the light and speak the truth so that happiness and personal satisfaction could be found but I found the journey to achieve this so absorbing and completely written from the heart that by the end you just have a smile on your face and heave a sigh of contentment upon reading the last sentence. This is Jill Mansell on top writing form and trust me when she is writing like this you really wouldn't want to miss out on such an excellent, delightful read.
