I absolutely loved this book! It has got to be the cutest dog story that I've read (and that's saying a lot since I've read quite a few!)!
Right from the moment the reader meets Gobi, you're instantly in love with the wee pup. The distances that Gobi traveled, as well as all that she went through in her journey was amazing to read.
By the end of the book, it left you cheering for the author and wee Gobi.
Definitely a feel-good read! :)

Heartwarming story for all animal lovers. Take of how a little dog wins the heart of one of the toughest men on earth

This book was fantastic.
Not only did I learn about how hard training and running is from Dion but then Gobi comes in and that little dog changes everything.

Having a dog myself I can understand the bond between owner and animal, and it was no surprise how much Dion and Gobi connected after she found him.

I was so sad when she went missing and I found myself smiling with happiness when Dion found Goni again. It was heartwarming.

What a great feelgood story. I dove into it, thinking, for whatever reason, that it would be told from the view point of the dog that this book is about. So I was a bit confused to begin with, but when I realised what was actually going on, I was hooked. The amazing journey the characters went through to get to where it lead them was truly humbling and I feel very privileged to have been invited to take part in it by reading this book. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to take a little time off and simply enjoy reading for a few hours.

If you love running or you love dogs, then you will really love this heart warming story about Gobi. However, I am not a fan of either, so I'm afraid I found it just a bit too descriptive and long-winded.

Finding Gobi by Dion Leonard is the most heart-warming true story of a long distance runner and a little stray dog in need of a home.
The story is about love. At times it was lacking in the lives of both the author and Gobi. They recognized a need in each other.
Gobi is a little dog with a huge personality. “Any dog that tough deserves a happy ending.” She is a fighter with a sense of loyalty.
Gobi attached herself to Dion Leonard whilst he was competing in a long distance race in China which took in the Gobi desert and hence the name. Gobi saw something attractive in Dion Leonard and by the race’s end, they were inseparable.
A decision to bring Gobi home to Edinburgh required grit, determination, sacrifice and money but “When it comes to family, you don’t count the cost.”
Finding Gobi is a powerful story of love and loyalty, of going the extra mile in the name of love – whether you are a dog or a man. I adored Finding Gobi. I too, fell in love with an adorable stray dog who had a terrible start in life and who deserved a happy ever after ending.
Finding Gobi will tear at your emotions. This book will grip you because you have to find out exactly what happened and when. Living in England, I have vague recollections of seeing this story on the news.
Finding Gobi is a book you will not want to put down… prepare to be sleep deprived!

What a wonderful book. Heartwarming and very enjoyable read. Loved it. The relationship between man and dog was beautifully written.

I don’t read many biographies as find them all about the author promoting themselves but this one was different. Finding Gobi is a beautiful story of a small dogs unconditional love for his owner and rescuer Dion. I hadn’t heard of Gobi before reading the book but fell instantly in love with him. Every man, woman and child should read this story and experience the love between Gobi and Dion.

A fantastic read. Thoroughly enjoyed this and it is not something I would usually pick up. Will look for more from this author in future.

Although I found this slightly disjointed it was still very entertaining giving a great insight into extreme marathon running and the joys of a little dog.

I remembered this story in the news but hadn't paid much attention to it. I live figs but hate running so was slightly conflicted when reading.

I gave up about halfway through to read another book, but when I went back to it I really enjoyed it. The book I'd largely about marathon running and the drama of finding a dog and getting it back to the UK, you also get a glimpse into the quite dramatic past of the author.

Took me a while but definitely a different yet good read

This is a great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to all. Prepare to fall in love with Gobi.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, not only for the "dog loves human" aspect of it, but also for the glimpse into Chinese culture. Completely readable and not only for dog lovers.
