Sometimes a book just fails to draw me in. While I often try to finish, this one just didn't call to me enough for that.

A Life Untold tells the story of Zara who is in a coma and meets D.A. or Deaths Assistant who guides her on her journey. This book had me captivated from the first page. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed going with Zara as she went through her life and reflected on it. I would highly recommend this book.

While I've usually enjoyed stories narrated by people who are dead or near to it, this one didn't grab me for some reason. There seemed to be too much detachment between the main character and her life before the accident. As a result, it was hard for me to connect with her and invest too much in the story.

I find great satisfaction reading books about people who are dead or in comas narrating the story. It makes me feel good thinking of the different scenarios when thinking of my family and friends who have passed away. Zara is met in the hospital by D.A., the Angel of Death's Head Assistant. DA helps Zara relive her last 7 days on earth and revisit good and horrible moments from her entire life. She's had a hard one. As Zara and DA prepare for her transition to death he starts questioning his duty and wonders if his schedule is set in stone. I loved this book and it's insight into the life of women in Syria and the wonderful concept of heaven.
