Harvey tells a good well paced story! This book was a quick read, I could not put it down. I could relate to the characters and found them really likable. This was my first book by Harvey but it won't be my last. Thank you for the chance to not only read this book but to find a new author.

I've just discovered a wonderful author that I adore. I will be looking for her previous books very quickly. Three sisters head home to their mother in Georgia for a summer visit. Carolyn is running away from the embarrassment of her husband's very public affair. Sloan's husband has just been deployed again and she and her kids come for a family reunion and Emerson the up and coming actress is going to be filming near by. Their mother Ainsley moved the children to Peachtree Bluff when her husband was killed in 9-11. This is a four intertwined stories of women at different stages of their life with different problems. I loved all the women, each unique and strong. They all were independent but relied on their family for help and advise. My only negative reaction was the unresolved issue for Sloan but hopefully there could be an additional book to give more time to Sloan and Emerson. A "don't bother me, I'm reading" story that has you smiling and crying for each of the ladies.

I think that I have always been a southern girl at heart who just happens to live in the north. I LOVE all things southern. The laid back living, the strong sense of family, the lifestyle, the food - don't get me started! I could go on for DAYS! I have plans to retire in the south once I get all these crazy kids of mine graduated in the next few years.
Kristy is truly the best southern writer I have read to date. No matter the topic she draws you in - you want more and when the story ends you hope and pray that she has the next story written and you can get your hands on a copy!
Slightly South of Simple does not disappoint! It tugs at your heart strings, it makes you fall in love with each and every character, even grumpy ole Mr. Solomon. The trials and struggles each sister goes through will feel like your own and have you question yourself - "What would I do in their shoes?".
Ansley thought she would live her years alone in this quaint town till she gets the call that all of her daughters are on their way for an extended visit - along with all of their children! Terror first enters her mind and then she realizes that she wouldn't want them to be any place else then with her to take care of them.
I won't ruin all of the intricacies (love, honor, past loves, heartbreak) of the story but I will tell you that by the end you will want nothing more than to begin the next book in the series!

This one would be a great beach read. Its set at the ocean so that will just add more flavor to your day at the beach. This one has a lot going on and many humors moments. I spent a lot of the time laughing my butt off. This was a great story about love and family with fantastic characters and I just couldn't put it down. I will be checking out this author's other books because this one was awesome. If your looking for lighter read this spring go no further than this one.

Good locale ambiance and likable characters but some story elements were just too preposterous and the ending left too many loose ends.
