Publisher's Description:

England 1810

Kidnapped on a trip to London, Lady Eleanor Whitmore awakes in the hold of a ship with no memory of her past or of her perfect marriage to Lord James Haddington III, Earl of Windhaven. All she knows is that a fierce and stunningly handsome pirate is yelling about women being bad luck on a voyage. Adrift at sea in both body and mind, she finds herself falling in love with the pirate captain, whose flashing eyes and muscular frame leave her breathless.

Lord James resisted the shackles by marriage until he met Eleanor. Her beauty and charms captured his heart, and now that she’s disappeared, he vows he will find her or die trying. His search becomes a chase to the New World, a trip that could destroy him as Eleanor’s bonds with a pirate captain tighten. Can James provoke her memory and win her love, or will the pirate steal her heart forever.

My Thoughts:
One thought... Excellent!!
I was captivated by the characters in this short novel from the start.
Our heroine wakes up after being kidnapped with no memory of her so called perfect marriage to our hero leading to an adventure that keeps the reader captivated.
This is a fast paced read that can be completed in a short amount of time.
This book gets a 4.25 of 5 star rating from me for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 3 of 5 flames.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read and review.
This in no way affected my opinion of this title.

I found this book while looking around on netgalley. The cover initially caught my eye – I love yellow – and the blurb sounded fun. I have not read anything else by this author, but am always looking for new favorites. And, it is a stand-alone novel, not part of a series, so I knew I wouldn’t be missing out on any backstory or character nuance. I requested and received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, I liked it, but it required quite a bit of suspension of disbelief, for two reasons. The first reason has to do with the kidnapping itself. The first few chapters had me questioning exactly how dangerous the roads to London were. Highwaymen are sometimes used as a plot device in historical romances, but this was a flat-out kidnapping. And, from the way James was moaning and groaning about it, you’d think it was commonplace. The second reason crops up once the kidnapping happens, we have another plot device – amnesia – that really seems to be long and drawn out. Even remaining in place after Eleanor and James are face to face again.

So, why did I like it? I liked the adventure. I liked that this sheltered girl found a place among pirates. I liked that she allowed herself to love and be loved when her life was nothing but questions. And, I liked the resolution of how James and Eleanor moved on. That being said, this book loses two stars for the adultery, the painful love pentagon (hexagon if you add Rachael), and the rather unsatisfactory endings for the villain(s).

In general, if you’re looking for a fun adventure on the high seas and don’t really mind a little adultery under amnesia, this book is for you! Give it a go!

3.5 Stars
'This Love of Mine' by Gina Danna. This is a very different story then what I usually like in a romance. We have Eleanor and James who are married for a few months and they seem to be happy until Eleanor is kidnapped. When she goes to escape she ends up with no memory and on a ship. There she meets pirate Trent and is attracted to him. James does go looking for Eleanor but how will things go if they find each other again?

Oh wow does this book take you on a journey. I love historical romances and this book did not disappoint.
Elenore is abducted on her way home and her husband goes on a frantic search for her, while she escapes her kidnappers only to literally fall into a pirate ship. When she regains her consciousness her memory of who she is is missing.
The twists and turns keep you glued to this book. You root for her husband but also root for the Captain Canvendish and his crew. The author's descriptive details help you picture the ship and characters without being boring. I am actually looking for her other books for my kindle.

I wasn't a fan of this story. Eleanor marries James and is immeasurably happy. They share a few weeks of wedded bliss when she is kidnapped and held for ransom. She does escape, but ends up falling onto a pirate ship and losing her memory.
While James is professing his love, and turning now the loose women of the ton, Eleanor becomes Elle and even though she in her heart believes it is wrong, engages in a passionate affair with the pirate.
Wasn't a fan of this book, 3 stars because I finished it and was interested in the story in the beginning, but I don't like adultery in my romance novels. And I certainly don't like to read a romance in which the woman is screwing another man.

James Haddington III, Earl of Windhaven had been married to Lady Eleanor Whitmore for four months & they were so happy & enjoying their love match. Eleanor decides to travel the short distance to London to go shopping but on route she is kidnapped, she is held in a warehouse next to the docks. She manages to escape & flees only to fall into the hold of a ship, when she awakes she has no memory of her past or of her perfect marriage. All she knows is that a fierce and stunningly handsome pirate Trent Cavendish is yelling about women being bad luck on a voyage.
James resisted the shackles by marriage until he met Eleanor, he vows he will find her or die trying. His search becomes a chase to the New World, a trip that could destroy him as Eleanor’s bonds with a pirate captain tighten.
An easy entertaining read, the characters were well portrayed, both James & Trent were gorgeous, strong determined men, Elle a strong woman who learned to cope with all that was thrown at her especially as she had no idea who she was. Definitely a work of fiction so some inconsistencies & how the kidnappers knew Eleanor was travelling I was able to dismiss. The colour of Eleanor’s hair seemed to change fom sable to blonde too! I enjoyed the book & will look for more from the author

I agreed to give an honest review in return for this ARC. I am sorry to say that I did not enjoy this book at all. It was so disjointed in my opinion and too many men chasing one woman. I could not figure out how Eleanor was going to make a decision in the end, given how she felt about two men. Was not a fan of the ending.
