4 for possibly up to 4.5. I actually quite like this book (I was into it enough that I actually missed my train stop and had to get off at the following stop waiting for 20 minutes to get back AT NIGHT WHEN IT WAS COLD, and the ride in between those two stops only took 3 minutes...), I just usually don't give out 5s for standalones unless their average ratings are incredibly low imo. But yeah, I do think this is one of the better Chick Lit/Romance ARCs I've read provided by NetGalley!

For those who are looking to escape reality and immerse themselves in an easy read, here is a perfect choice. Three friends abandon their lives to move to Greece. They will have adventure and romance…and gin. Readers will enjoy spending time in the gorgeous setting and with the likeable main characters.

Ah the beach! Winnie, Stella, and Frankie all find something different when they spend the summer at the beach. It's a good read for fans of chick lit featuring multiple characters.

I really enjoyed this book. I felt swept away to the Greek island setting along with the trio of main characters, Winnie, Stella and Frankie. I think we all dream sometimes of just throwing caution to the wind and jetting off to start a new life somewhere so this book is a lovely, risk free way to daydream! A funny, warm and highly entertaining read.

I first came across Kat French two summers ago and really enjoyed her writing style, story line and characters albeit some of them were quite, really quite, quirky.

This story is about three friends and a once in a lifetime opportunity that’s presented to them. They face questions about their lives, their relationships and their friendships.

It’s set in the sun and a perfect beach read, or a perfect read to ward of the cold winter nights.

Great quick summery and beachy read about an unexpected opportunity and friendship. These ladies were a lot of fun and there was plenty of laughs out loud moments.

There are now so many of these type of stories which all have similar covers so I'm never sure which ones I've read or not. Its a sweet story with fairly formulaic characters ad a predictable storyline. A fun holiday read though.

Just a fun summer read. I really enjoyed this little book and would recommend to anyone looking for a light summer read.

Kat French knows how to write incredible men (and books), I’ll give her that. Robinson in One Hot Summer, Gabriel in Love Your Neighbour (previously published as Undertaking Love), and Hal in My Perfect Stranger (previously published as The Piano Man Project). Now we have Jesse in this book. Good god he was amazing. He’s up there with my obsession with Robinson. Just yummy.

Anyway, I loved Winnie, Stella and Frankie. They were feisty, determined, witty, and in need of a good turn in the lives. My favourite would probably have to be Winnie, going from an awful time in her life to gaining her confidence, and becoming a brave (very brave), independent woman. Willing to open up to the possibilities of life. I liked her witty come backs, her sense of adventure and just her in general. Her chemistry with Jesse was perfect,with it bouncing from the pages instantly. Stella also had great, steamy chemistry with Angelo, and in a strange way, I’m glad things worked out for Frankie with her husband Gavin.

The writing style was very easy to get into, with you instantly wrapped up in their lives. I instantly clicked with all of the women and liked everything about them. I wanted them to succeed with the B&B, to get the happiness they all deserved.

This book was fun, romantic, steamy, and just fabulous. The island’s residents made me chuckle with how faith they put into something so… strange? No, not strange. Something so normal. It was normal, and it was a fantastic addition to the story.

I’ve given this a 4/5. With Jesse, the girls, the B&B and the magical island of Skelios I was hooked.

Winnie, Stella, and Frankie are best friends. When their lives seem to be falling apart, they decide to take a trip to Villa Valentina, located on a Greek beach. Somehow they leave as the new owners. All the antics then ensue. First, their donkey has decided to go live with the sexy neighbor. Then, they discover that owning the Villa entails brewing the famous and exclusive gin only found on this island. Will the women find new loves and lives in this Villa, or is their fate back in England with their past?



I loved this book. I laughed out loud SO many times. Of course it’s cheezy. You don’t just up and decide to quit your lives in England, buy a Villa in Greece, meet multiple sexy men and have life changing experiences. BUT, it is fun to read about. AND any book that throws in a Dirty Dancing is a winner for me – LOL. If you want a quick, easy, funny, fluffy read pick this one up. Four out of Five stars.

Oh Kat French, why have I not read any of your books before? The Bed and Breakfast on the Beach was such an enjoyable read.
So I originally requested this on Netgalley (a while ago now) and got approved to read this gem. I can’t remember why I opted for this, if I am honest, I think it was the front cover and that it looked like a good chick lit to read in between thrillers.

I started reading this a little bit confussed, I remember thinking it’s not what I thought it was and if I am honest I was worried for the ladies in the book, literally thought they would be coned or something. (That’s my brain overworking).
As I read on, I discovered that it was a book about discovery. Each of the three friends had their own journeys to make and own discoveries to make and it was nice to read all about them.
I liked that you heard from all points of view as they happened. It wasn’t split into chapters! You heard what the girl thought, then the friend and then the guy. All in the same paragraph. It helped create an atmosphere an understanding of what was going on within each person and how they all had their own challenges to battle.
A lovely. Heartwarming, summery read. The only disappointing thing about this book is it didn’t send you the delicious G&Ts they talked about upon reading!
Honestly, it had the elements I had expected, girl friends, new adventure, boys and drama. Yet it was brought together in a unique way (I felt). I put this book down smiling, a big smile. I then went on to immediately writing this review with the said smile, because I just had to talk about it. As you can see, it was a nice book and one I enjoyed.
So thanks Kat, I will be on the hunt for more of your books and will definitely be reccomending this lighthearted read to my friends.

This was a perfect beach read to close out the summer. French tells a story of friendship and finding a place to belong, and a community. This was a really fun read, and I enjoyed it.

Best friends Stella, Winnie, and Frankie's lives are in shambles and on vacation, end up buying a bed and breakfast on a small Greek island, and find themselves responsible for the island's supply of special gin. Their first summer on the island is full of ups and downs, and is fun to read about.

There are times when the narrative grew a bit too melodramatic for my tastes, but overall, I liked the book. I hope there might be a follow-up book at some point featuring Seth.

I loved this book! Nice easy read which really made me feel that I wished that I was on holiday and just relax in the warm sun and drink gin all day! Having holidayed in Greece many many times I could almost of been there with the descriptions that were given regarding the scenery and 'The Fonz' in the olive grove.....I especially liked the way all 3 women had a different story and that it ended just as I wanted it to end. This is a fantastically funny summer read. I read this book so fast it was that good, it definitely gets you in the holiday mood.

An engaging, entertaining story of three friends who go on holiday to escape problems at home and end up buying their hotel! The book follows their adventures starting a new life on an idyllic Greek island. I would recommend this book to read by the pool or on the beach.

Last year Kat French brought us Robinson Duff in her sexy summer novel, One Hot Summer.
This year's novel, The Bed and Breakfast on the Beach sees us treated to Jesse, an Australian art sculptor and Angelo, a grumpy yet handsome Greek!

OK, so the book isn't primarily about them but its certainly one bonus to it... that and the Sun, Sea and.... Gin!

The book focus' around three friends, Winnie, Frankie and Stella and starts with them all jetting off to the Greek Island of Skelidos for some girl time. Quickly moving on it is clear that after one too many gin's the girls have ended up purchasing the B&B - Villa Valentina.

That in itself comes with huge responsibilities - a donkey that has vacated to the neighbouring farm and strict intrustions to keep alive the sacred gin recipe which is supplied to the locals.

As the story unfolds we get to know each of the girls that little bit more -
Winnie, nursing a broken heart
Frankie, getting over a divorce
Stella, lost her job.

Villa Valentina is set to be a new start for each of them and they soon fall into their roles of running the place. As Winnie tires to befriend their donkey she gets closer to Jesse their neighbour but after blowing hot and cold signals, Winnie just can't work him out.
Stella is the brains of the business and gets going on a swanky new website but her patience run thin with Angelo, a grumpy and rude, yet sexy customer
And Frankie is in charge of the kitchen - trying out new recipes and wondering where her marriage went wrong, the last thing she expects is to see her ex arrive at the B&B!

I thought that The Bed and Breakfast on the Beach was going to be all sun, sea and steamy nights but it has a lot more drama to it too - their first booking other than Angelo turns out to be a well know pop group looking for a hideaway to work on their next album.

But no sooner as things look up for the girsl, things quickly go horribly wrong too with one of the band members being an alcholoic and setting the place on fire.

throughout the book we are left wondering if the girls will get their happy ever after on what is a book about friendship, love, challenges and discovery.

The Bed and Breakfast on the Beach is the perfect poolside read to take away on your travels this year!

Sensual and lovely, this story is everything you could wish for in a chick lit, with its beautiful location and its wonderfully sexy men!

Though the message in this book is that you might think you can run from your problems,you realise that they'll seek you out anyway, and that's exactly what happens to our wonderful heroines. I just wish I could have been one of them and I'm not sure which one of their lives I'd want to lead - all of them maybe? Oh, and did I mention the sexy, hot men? (yes, I know I did, but I can't stress how yummy they are!)

Just a quick aside - this story is at the warmer end of hot and can be a bit steamy in places, though it's very artfully written.

Thoroughly recommended!

A really fun summer read set on a gorgeous Greek island - three thirty something woman all in need of a change go on holiday and somehow find themselves buying the B&B which they stay in. They pack up their lives in Britain and start their Greek adventure.

A perfect summer holiday romance read - three likeable woman characters, pink gin and handsome hunks and a donkey called The Fonz. A warm hearted, contemporary romance with strong female leads and a lovely sunny setting. A perfect beach read, delightful.
