Not what I was initially expecting- but a good surprise.
Kinda like an updated, current Cinderella story.

No Prince Charming is loosely based off a modern day Cinderella story. Killian, our not prince charming, hires a reputation management firm to clean up the scandal left by his older brother, Trey. This is where he meets his Cinderella, Claire. She works for her soon to be step-mom and step-sister who own the reputation company.

Claire's soon to be step-sister has called dibs on Killian and has threatened Claire with exposing her secrets if she she tries to go after Killian. Unfortunately for Claire, she is attracted to Killian and the feeling is mutual despite the many attempts made by the evil step-sister.

This is the first in the Secrets of Stone series and ends on a happily for now, ending. Claire and Killian's story continues onto book two. While it wasn't a 5 star read for me, it was a really good story. It fit perfectly with the Cinderella theme with the evil step mom and sister who wanted the rich, handsome Killian. I felt it was maturely written and the story itself was unique.

What I didn't like about the story was more of a personal preference in my reading. I really wanted Claire to stand up to her soon to be evil step mom and sister, especially towards the end of the book. She took everything they threw at her and never really made a stand that would have them back off. Since this does continue into book two, it's reasonable to believe this will eventually happen and I can't to see this happen!

I also felt the push/pull between Killian and Claire lasted too long. The issue with that, is it made me want to skim over some of this push/pull until I felt there was actual improvement in the situation. Again, since this story is to be continued and we finally see Killian and Claire officially get together at the end of book 1, I don't think this will be an issue in book 2. Overall, I enjoyed the book and want to continue with the series. ARC provided by Netgalley.

I really hated this story! I had a hard time getting into it, finding it boring overall. I disliked all the secret keeping and manipulation the characters employed to control each other. I found much of the events unbelievable, and thus the manipulations became suspect as well. The book devolves into sex, and while this was supposed to be an erotic retelling of Cinderella, I found it to be more eye rolling worthy than anything else.

Killian Stone, ruler of the SGC empire, has had it with his older brother Trey's antics. This time Killian will have to call in a professional PR firm to clean-up Trey's mess and that's when he meets Claire Montgomery. She's everything he didn't want to want.

LOVED IT!!! I was hooked from the beginning to the end. The story flowed perfectly with no dull moments. Killian Stone is the stuff dreams are made of. His attention towards Claire never faltered, even when she thought it did.

The writing style of these authors is amazing and I can't wait to read the next book in the Secrets of Stone series.

Great book.
Loved the sarcastic banter between Claire and Killian. I really enjoyed how it compares certain parts of the story to Cinderella.
Claire had her hands full trying to clear Killians brothers name from the headlines.
She also has the heat of her future stepsisters wrath hanging over her head anytime she is seen even speaking to Killian.
But no matter how hard she tries to stay away from him. Their chemistry is too strong.
Great love chase between the two. I loved the happily ever after ending too.
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

Hot Hot Hot! This book was a super sexy read. The authors did a great job of creating sexual tension between Killian (a guy with this name has got to be hot) & Claire from the first moment they met. And keep the romantic tension going throughout the entire book.

The story line was captivating & kept me reading way late into the night to see what happened.

My only complaint was that it was a little wordy sometimes. But once you get used to the style of writing its not as noticeable.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I won't bother re-hashing the plot in my review because it's pretty standard as far as romances go. None of the characters are very well fleshed out; despite this it started well. I didn't enjoy the ending.

The story was clipping on with a nice amount of tension. When that tension breaks there's just... Way too much sex. We trade deliciously agonizing chapters of build up and story for back-to-back sex scenes that just keep stacking.

Even that could have been overlooked, if not for the fact that there were way too many bad cliches. It started to feel like this book was written by a man and not two women. Claire seems able to orgasm with no additional stimulation, and worse: on call! She is always wet and ready to go. Killian is a flawless god who was a commitment phobe but is suddenly reformed by the sheer force of love.

To top everything off, Claire lets her beloved father walk blindly into a marriage when she has reason to believe it will not be a happy one. I lost all sympathy for her when Margaux blatantly told her that her mother doesn't respect Claire's father, and it never even occurred to her to sit her dad down and share her concerns.

A few tweaks to the later third of the book really could have turned this story around from "okay" to "good." A bit disappointing.

No Prince Charming by Angel Payne & Victoria Blue is the first book I've read by these authors. The connection between the two main characters and the vivid sex scenes alone pushed this book up a star in my estimation. I found the conflict with both characters "secrets" pathetic and didn't make any sense to me whatsoever. I barely understood what each of their secrets were because of the authors attempts at vague definitions of them wrapped up in flowery euphemisms to the extent that I questioned what the hell exactly what they were so afraid of coming to light. I can't mention them without spoilers so I can only say that neither secret was truly special enough to cause either of these two strong minded professionals to act the way they did, and that major error in this story deducted a star for me. I appreciated the opportunity to read the book as it was nicely written and engaging, I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romances with a strong alpha male who charges after what and who he wants with zero apologies. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I started this book today and at the beginning I step away for a few minutes. But the pace picked up and the story started to evolve and it grabbed a hold. Killian Stone is a man of mystery. I didn't quite understand why the baby was the head of the company. Why the older brothers and him had a not perfect relationship and why Killian was in charge of keeping them in check when he had parents. But what I found was a multi layered character that was passionate, brilliant, stunning, and broken. Just another layer of mystery to the man. But what I grew to love was his passion, loyalty, integrity, and straight shooting, in both business and personal affairs.

Claire seemed so innocent. At one point I felt like she was an angel not a person. Her soul jumping off the pages a pure and good. I hated Margoux from the first words. Her evilness jumped off the pages. The twits and turns of Claire's life were a roller coaster and I am not just talking about her interactions with Killian.

But what I have to know: Is there going to be more? While this book left with the intent on a HEA I have a feeling there is more to the story.

Contemporary fairytales are some of my favorite books. This author duo did a great job and now I'm curious to see if they are going to work together again,

I loved this book! I didn't realise it was one of a series but I will definitely be reading the rest!
I loved the chemistry between Killian and Claire. They are both uniquely strong characters with their own secrets and problems.
I would definitely recommend this book to other people.

I like this story very much. I hope there is a book two. For Claire Montgomery, liking Killian Stone wasn't a choice or a decision she made, it just was. From the moment he shook her hand they both were lost to what was happening to them. That doesn't mean things will go smoothly though. There are secrets that keep them both from going all in and if one of Claire's coworkers has her way she will be the one with Killian, not Claire.

The dual point-of-view used in this book is captivating from the very first page. It also creates a deep connection to the characters. Both of the main characters are extremely likeable, and their chemistry oozes off the page. This is one of those books that I couldn't put down (which was very refreshing because I had just read a string of books that I had to force myself to finish). The story itself is intriguing, and I was so anxious for all the secrets to be revealed. I'm excited to read the second book in the series to see the full resolution of those secrets. In the meantime, I'm pleased that these characters got past all the reasons NOT to be together.
