I enjoyed the main character very much. She's witty and self-deprecating, motivated but seemingly lazy. She's one of those characters who can't stay out of trouble, but refuses to give up. Her infatuation with not one but two seemingly unavailable men was both hysterics and realistic. As an American, however, it wasn't easy to figure out a lot of the slang, brand names, and jargon. I did a lot of googling to decipher the language. The mystery was unraveled verrrry slowly, and this was definitely not a stay-up-all-night thriller, but I still really liked the plot. If there are sequels, I will definitely read them

Wave or die is mystery takes it time building the story. The story isn't face pace as the author gives the readers enough details to paint a picture. With the slow pace I found myself sometimes getting lost in the main story. I didn't read book one but Stella Whitelaw gives the readers just enough information to keep the readers up to date with her current story.
Jordan Lacey went from cop to PI trying to find whether a husband is eating on his wife. Jordan is taking on several cases at once and between the cake and the flowers she is suddenly accused accused of murder and arson.
DI James who she fights with as their path constantly cross. While her detective skills have failed her before this time it will be what might save her life.
Jordan is an interesting characters she is smart, take charge, feisty and to be the best at what she does even if it makes those in the Police department upset.
