Christmas Weddings by Georgia Hill a fairy-tale four-star read. This is the third book in the Millie Vanilla’s Cupcake Café series and I would highly recommend you read them in order to get the whole story, they complement each other as the characters get more developed with each read.
If you fancy a great Christmas read, that will take you away all of the way to Berecome and will while away an hour or two while you read. This is a sweet and tender read, there is a gentleness to the read that you can forget everything and just dream of being in a beachside café with a lovely hot beverage of your choice, as there will be plenty on offer.
Millie is a great character, she really does put her heart and soul in things she feels she can help with, but she also sees the other side and understands the harsh realities of life. Will there be festive cheer to spread? Or will it all be a flash in the pan.
If you are after a simple read to while away some hours, then grab this trilogy as it’s a sweet read that will leave you with a simple smile.

What a lovely, Christmassy story, full of warmth and joy. The course of true love doesn’t run smoothly for Millie however , nor does it for her friend and free spirit Eleri, but the eventual happy ending drew a contented smile from me. I'm now feeling very festive but unfortunately I have a while to wait until my feelings match the season!

It’s so good to be back in Berecombe – it feels like coming home for Christmas! But all is not well as Millie returns from her travels and Jed sets off on his.
Georgia Hill has another winner on her hands with this third book in the series. All the angst and trials and tribulations of running a small business are there and then there’s love and romance which seem to be a bit in short supply! It’s wonderful to catch up with all the previous characters and be introduced to a new one and see how they all fit together.
This is a fabulous feel-good read, absolutely perfect for the festive season and a must have for your Christmas list. It is definitely one of my favourite series at the moment and I am thrilled to hear there will be more from Berecombe next year.. Bring it on!
I received an arc via NetGalley in exchange for my honest, original and unbiased review.

It’s the run up to Christmas, but Millie isn’t celebrating. Her beloved seaside cafe is up for sale because she can no longer stay on now that her true love, Jed, has broken her heart. Still, before Millie leaves for good she intends to give her good friends an amazing Christmas wedding. As Millie watches her friends pair off, marry and start families, she’s happy for them, but she aches inside for her own happily ever after. Now that her boyfriend has turned his back on her, Millie feels she must give up on love. But Christmas is the season of miracles, is it possible that there is still a chance for Millie to find real happiness? The third book in the Millie Vanilla series is as sweet as the first two

This, the third novel in the Millie Vanilla’s Cupcake Cafe trilogy, is entitled ‘Christmas Weddings’ and is set in the winter months leading up to Christmas. Millie has returned from her travels and is awaiting news about the sale of her beachside café, determined to move on from her relationship with Jed and move away from Berecombe and her failing business. Everything had been so promising at one time, she had been so happy and proud of herself, but after a rival business had set up nearby, well, customers had slowly dwindled away. Some things are plain just not meant to be.
She decorates her café with a huge Christmas tree and beautiful handmade table decorations for her last ‘event’; the Christmas Eve wedding of two of her most loyal customers. She puts her heart into making it a perfect day for them to remember. She’s literally going to ‘go out with a bang and not a damp squid’, the French translation of ‘go out with a bang and not a whimper. There would be plenty of speciality hot drinks and food for the guests; this beach wedding and the reception would create special memories for two special people. She has to let go of the past and all of her most precious dreams.
But she cannot help but be sad, remembering the wonderful times she’d had with her ex-boyfriend. Then when her friend starts a sizzling new relationship and another friend announces that she and her husband are expecting a baby, Millie of course congratulates them but is cut to the quick. These are the very life events she had hoped for with Jed. Millie is well and truly depressed; all this exciting news coming just when her life is at its lowest ebb.
This novel is not full of doom and despondency. There are quite a few twists and turns, then some thrills and spills as well. As the townsfolk get ready for the wedding and the Christmas festivities, they all pull together ready for the celebrations. I really liked meeting up with characters that I’d met in the first two Millie Vanilla’s Cupcake Café novels. As their stories were developed I felt the warmth of their personalities and the joy of the upcoming festivities. I liked the gentle humour, the idyllic setting and the lovely storytelling. I liked the contrasting romances between the older inhabitants of the town and the younger. Georgia Hill has a wonderful gift of painting a richly coloured picture with her words and I felt included in the novel by this.
I would like to thank NetGalley and publisher Harper Impulse for my copy of this short fun-to-read novel, sent out to me in return for an honest review. This is a heart-warming read with so much more to it than romance. It’s about friendship, community, loyalty, pulling together and living the dream. The separate parts of the trilogy will be released in digital form and as a paperback on January 11th 2018.
