I read this book years ago and enjoyed it as much now as I did back then.

'DESERT EDEN' by Patricia Grasso is book Three in the "Devereux Family" series. This is the story of Heather Devereux and Khalid Beg. This is a re-release...which was first published round 1993. I wasn't luckily enough to have read it when it first came out so I was happy to get the chance this time. This is easily a standalone book.
Heather was headed to a marriage of convince, when she is taken. Heather finds herself a 'slave' of Khalid Beg. Khalid Beg finds Heather to be a strong women who isn't easily broken.
Khalid Beg has some strong actions and at times they had some funny scene.
Overall enjoyed this book and would look to read more.
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

One of my all-time favorite books and author's. Love "Desert Eden" and many, many of Patricia Grasso's books! I really hope we see a return of Patricia Grasso to writing. Love her books!
Heather is traveling to France with her cousin, April, to marry a man her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I, wants her to marry. She isn't too happy about the marriage or the deplorable conditions on the trip. Suddenly, her ship is attacked and she is taken prisoner to be gifted to Khalid. The man who will use her to gain revenge on her betrothed.
Khalid is mesmerized, and infuriated, with Heather. He wants revenge on her betrothed, but has vowed to never hurt a woman. He is at turns obsessed and perplexed by her, her temper and her beauty.
Sigh, what a love story. Hot desert sheik, stubborn Englishwoman. Lots of passion. This is an old favorite and I enjoyed the story again. This book is one of the old bodice-ripper style books that I love!

This is the third book in the Devereux series. If you haven't read the previous books, I highly recommend that you do so. Desert Eden is about Heather Devereux and Khalid. I adored Heather!! She was extremely funny, headstrong, and just an all around great character! Khalid had to grow on me. By the middle of the book I loved him too! They have such chemistry together. I love how she is always herself and tries to make him understand what is important to her. Of course, I also enjoyed how they argued!! Very funny in a lot scenes! I've always been a fan of Patricia Grasso's books and this one just reaffirmed for me how great of a writer she truly is.

A highly debatable rating. this was a book that I had to really struggle to read. It is written in a fantastic way, has a good plot line and good characters, however, in this day and age the content bothered me so much I had to struggle to finish the story. Having said that, i will say this author is beyond talented, I genuinely can say that for most you will be captivated by her writing and just enjoy the way she has of pulling you inside her stories. I was given this book in return for an honest review. Regards, Anna

This is a fast paced historical read with lots of drama and suspense. The Heather is a spoiled brat and Khalid plans to tame her. The story is entertaining and held my interest throughout. I really liked it.

This novel was a good read. The story contains romance, action, and adventure. It begins together two different cultures and being to accept the other for who they are.
Heather Devereux and her cousin April are traveling to France since the queen of England has said Heather is to marry Comte de Beaulieu. Heather does not want to marry him. On their journey, they are attacked and taken by Arab pirates. Heather is given to Khalid, the Sultan's beast". Khalid has many internal scars, but also an external scar. He takes Heather as slave for revenge on the Comte de Beaulieu. Khalid is also a prince.
Heather defies Khalid at every turn. She wants to return to England and refuses to be a slave. Khalid has his patience tried with Heather but he realizes he is in love with her after he almost gives her up. Heather has a difficult time adjusting to the cultural differences and how the women are treated. Khalid and Heather have to work through many of their differences. Heather desires to be with Khalid, but cannot give up her beliefs. However, danger lurks around many corners and there are those who want Heather and Khalid out the picture for their own evil purposes. Will Heather and Khalid be able to compromise on their beliefs and realize they have true love or will their differences drive them apart forever?
